Flight activities on the CWGNTS are continuing on a regular basis. Just today, 1./JG71 had a three-ship ACM exercise in TRA205 supported by excellent ATC service across stations Buechel TWR, Buechel RADAR, Frankfurt RADAR and LONESHIP CRC, providing full IFR ATC and exercise monitoring. Here is one shot of how ATC folks see the world in DCS (thanks to Felix for providing the screenshot and excellent ATC for us!): Join the CWGNTS community and fly or control in a realism-minded, professional military air traffic environment.2 points

Well, I don't know if EA has been tweaking the AI, but now the wingmen obey orders and don't run away like cowards. For my part, apart from going all out with flares, I modified the wingmen to attack with rockets, and on the first pass they caused quite a bit of damage. Then I attacked with rockets to finish off the first group and made a second pass with bombs to finish off the second (the damage with bombs is much more destructive now, by the way). Very fun! @Someone thanks a lot for the detailed explaination! I agree that Paypal is quite a number. I once gave five bucks for a colleague I barely knew, named "Vitali" or something, and wrote "For Vitali, all the best." That's all. Paypal blocked my account and demanded to know who Vitali is, last name and birthdate. I had several calls with their call center, they could not understand that I didn't know his birth date and would also not give it to them. I eventually made up some name and 1970-1-1 and they unblocked my account. Total sh*t show. Alas, what's done is done, I bought on the ED site at the time, didn't even expect the debit card to work because it usually does not. Sorry.1 point

Bomb doors not opening is known at this time, there also doesn't seem to be a way to fix it, but thats something we've been looking at.1 point

This is a 69.99$ module. There should not be any doubt what the customers are buying into. On that note, I can't recommend a purchase.1 point

A Block 1 would even be more stupid than a Block 2B or Block 3i. Only a very few Block 1 prototypes ever existed and these would NEVER see combat in any real scenario! F-35 Block 1 was nothing like for example the F-16 Block 1 (for former was simply a prototype while the later an actual in service combat aircraft). Or putting into another perspective, a F-35 Block 1 was like the YF-16. Would you prefer to have in DCS the YF-16 rather than the F-16C Block 50?1 point

Very good note, the animation of the turbocharger exhaust opening and the flame from it are also missing. I hope this will be added soon. https://youtu.be/Y4zjBs1MhKI?t=23561 point

Coming back to DCS after a while of not flying, I completed this campaign. I had started this in the past but without any proficiency in the Tomcat I never made it past the first mission. This time I was determined to make it and managed to complete each mission. It was a campaign that really drew me in, not for being the most realistic in terms of procedures and communication but just to fly as if it were a movie. All I can say is: you'll have an absolute riot during this campaign if you like movies like Top Gun and love the F-14. Highly recommended.1 point

Yeah this is my interpretation of the documents we have. Moreover the "flase" signals displayed are what actually happens when the SPO starts to go out of synch. As for how ED implements this correctly, IDK. Maybe just a special option to fly with the broken SPO. And then have a "perfect SPO" as the default option. Ideally maybe they have errors that start to appear (desynch) after some random amount of flying time. What we lack is info on rapidly the spo would desynch, could be minutes, or tens of hours. And then to reset it, well that takes a radar technician to reset it with his gear.1 point

We need Skrydstrup Air Base in southern Denmark. It was the most prominent air base in Denmark during the Cold War, and today is the only base housing fighter jets in Denmark. It is only around 40km from the phase 3 line.1 point

Yup, this one confuses lots of people initially. Trimming nose up will move the trim tab on the elevator down, not up. Same principle with the other control surfaces.1 point
-
What do you think is the effect that the trim tabs have on the control surfaces? Why do you think they are placed on outer most edge of the control surfaces? You should do some more research on the physics of aviation. To put in no uncertain terms: The trim tabs are moved into the airstream to exert a displacement force on the actual control surfaces, which consequently will have a new equilibrium position in the airflow (and with that move the stick which has a fixed connection to the surfaces). Trim tab goes up, control surface goes down, stick goes forward. (for pitch trim)1 point
-
This is great, now looks more like WWII London, what about ruins in Caen?1 point
-
The stick is supposed to move with trim, like in every other non-fbw aircraft. And as others pointed out, you just need to reverse the ff direction in the control options and all is good again.1 point
-
That can be fixed by reversing the FF-Direction in the control options. Which is a SEPERATE setting from axis input inversion.1 point
-
No, in fact they should not mess with it as that's precisely why there are so many options to tune the controls in the control menu. Devs have no way of knowing how the physical device reports its position. Meaning you can have two potentiometers on the same device, one will report 100% value on the full left turn, the other can report 100% on the full right turn. There's no way in hell the devs can account for all of that to work out the box, that's precisely why the inversion option is there ----- EDIT: While what I said above stands, it seems that's not the core issue. Sorry for the rrant. After carefully re-reading the issue it seems you guys are reporting that the trim indicator and FFB trim are disconnected and are not following each other. Is that the correct interpretation? If so, then yeah, the devs should definitely fix it.1 point
-
Again, you can set all this up in the game. Just click on FFB options and reverse the effects direction. You can do this per input axis per aircraft it is just on click with the mouse (maybe two or three).... There is really no necessity to tinker with anything outside the control options menu....1 point

Could we please have option of asking AI wingman/flight to turn off their radars as we have had previously and with other modules. Flying missions as lead with AI wingman, you are unable to go silent as the wingman are constantly broadcasting making other players aware of your presence and giving them a bearing to to your flights location. With the new modelling of the SPO-15 you have to live with a constant lock warning unless the AI is flying line abreast. Thanks1 point

Thanks sleighzy that's exactly what I was looking for. I just watched AnyTimeBaby's videos on installation, setup and use. Wow! Much better then I could have imagined...1 point

You want Vaicom. It’s a VoiceAttack plugin and application that directly interfaces with DCS. Removes the need for the radio menus as it uses DCS APIs instead. https://github.com/Penecruz/VAICOM-Community1 point

It's not a "replay" system, even though it gets used that way. Do a search on track files.1 point

Ive didnt talked about promises etc. I just see when this discussion started (19 march 2023) and where we are now. I dont care about other forum parts or escpecially reputation judging from some users in other sections. Lets come back to the topic...yes, ive just asked several times about in my opinion simple task (compared to other ED tasks). I am not the only one here who is asking for it. As far as i know ED made already few pilot bodys so they do not start everytime from scratch on every module (i hope so). At least this would be a proper way of working to use let say a "skeleton model" and placing it to other modules so there only modifications on existing model. If this is not like this so this is then lets say politely "poor way of working". Thats all. ED could show even ultra early pilot body state or picture (work in progress, whatever) during this 2 years so then maybe i would try to belive that someone is working on that. Anyway. For my part everything is clear now and i will stop further asking.1 point

Agree with speed-of-heat, right basket is weirdly hard (likely because we don't use it as much so our references are more for the left basket). You also will need to speed up slightly in a turn on the right since you're travelling slightly farther than the tanker in the turn, whereas on the inside you'll be going slightly less far). I'm not a fan of curves, but that is personal preference. With a good stick (and without extensions) you get very precise control without curves and you just need to learn how to only make tiny movements of the stick. I think you've realized, but in DCS if there is only 1 plane fueling (or whoever clears contact 1st if there's more than one) will ALWAYS have to take the left basket (even if the right basket is out), and if you try to take the right your probe will just pass through it.1 point

Well, no communication is also a form of communication You know nothing about me or others so keep you life wisedom for you please And its nice from your side to teach others and to apologize in name of others. But in this particular topic for me its boring to read such apologizing again and again. This kind of work usually wouldnt take even a half year (and this is amongous time for such task). But its ok, i dont ask here anymore coz its pointless.1 point

I align it in CAD when I design it, so it's pretty close to correct locations, I've found it does not need to be exact, it does have some adjustability, but being close works just fine. Currently the F6F will be next.1 point

I'm wondering what GCI will look like in the MiG-29A, given that the version we have isn't equipped with Lazur or any similar system. Will GCI work in such a way that the AI speaks over the radio the same way AWACS does when we ask for a 'Bogey Dope'? Except that it would be through ground-based radars instead? Also, will GCI be available in other languages, than Russian and English, and will it be possible to replace audio files so that the language could be Polish or German for example? Also, if it does work the way I think, will the radar data be sent to a command station that will guide the aircraft, or will we have to ask each radar individually?1 point

We're trying to make mid October. That might slip to November. I'll be shocked if its any later than that.1 point
