MIG-29 confirmed release date September?
CrazyGman replied to The Gryphon's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
My guess based on previous ED releases They said release likely end of summer. (After previous revision from June) This by ED standards means no earlier then September 22. (The absolute last day of summer is still summer ) Typically things get held up by about a week which puts it at September 29, but you don't release on a Monday so likey September 30th to October 2nd depending on issues. This lines up with the pre-order discount on steam which is September 30th -
(moved from another thread) Now on 1.14.2, with QVC and TM favourite settings. Performance was appalling on 1.14.1 Performance on 1.14.2 is back up to solid 90fps and the sharpening in PP is really great (I cap it at 70 anyway and leave headset Hz at 90), still some stuttering when looking towards 3/9 o'clock near the ground where theres lots of objects but i'm getting a very faint white box in the centre of the FOV flickering..and its totally ruining what otherwise i might have praised. I put this here because I read somewhere on net someone else describing exactly that problem but now I cant find where I saw it to read on for the fix! Facing the prospect now of rolling back to 1.40 with QVC and accepting no sharpening (which is a loss but i have to trade it against this silly white flickering box) Any advice, anyone read that elsewhere? 5090 MSI Suprim soc DDR5 6200 19-14900K

Incoming fire expected, but I'm starting to think that we have it all wrong. I think that DCS was neither meant to be a flight simulator nor a combat simulator. DCS is a Flight/Combat Simulator Simulator The fun isn't actually flying/combatting, the "fun" is actually getting the simulator to function properly; the software IS the game. User mods are just extra "quests" to complete to get/keep the game running. Every now and then ED will throw in maps or EA modules that just barely work -- just to keep everyone playing the actual game of getting the software running properly -- again. Think that indie hacker game where you actually had to code in a console to play the game... Thank you. I'm off the soapbox now. TLDR: There is more activity in these forums about how to fix, enhance, modify and overcome faults than there is actually FLYING and using the sim for it's purpose of digital combat flight simulation. If ED doesn't see the previous sentence as the WHOLE issue here, then we're all doomed. DOOMED, I tell you. ...For the forum topic: I wish that ED would release a "DCS 3.x", that has 2025 graphics capabilities, functional AI, functional FM, functional weapons, populated maps, updated legacy maps, improved ATC and Carrier ops, more static templates, fully-functional modules and maps BEFORE release, EA < 1yr, DCE, updated ME and scripting engine, involve (not alienate) UNPAID module builders, implement all the promised changes for the past 10 years, AND finally, reign in the evangelists long term members on the forums. All in one package. I would even pay for such a new and improved DCS -> but only when it hit v3.5.

reported earlier Massive pitch up on landing
Moxica replied to Ramses823's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yep. Three times this week within a campaign in Caucasus; Sudden nose down during flight. Rocket at the flare when landing. -
What we have in DCS is Magic I with magnesium fluoride seeker window. However, missile performs as same as early Magic I with glass window. If you have magnesium fluoride window, you should get about 90 degrees aspect. If not, 60 degrees. However, in DCS, Magic I had 60 degrees aspect with magnesium fluoride window. This is completely not right. Currently Magic I should be modeled with pure glass. and we probably need a new magnesium fluoride version.

Unfortunately, this is not currently possible at the official level. But it would be great to see a custom mod with this helicopter.

I got that pattern as well on the very first mission I loaded to check out v 2.0 . Murphy's law an all. Screen below. This is how "Broken cumulus no rain 1" preset looks like when clouds quality is set to "high". What setting do you use on your PC? There seems to be an issue with that single layer only, but it's being used in a couple of other presets as well, isn't it?

Ah, I was wrong about something, the missus will be pleased . Shame about the wind on Sunday, some good as there was enough space to mooch around in, relaxed a bit. That fighter balbo’s getting better every year I think? Ain’t we lucky . Mrs Slippa got a bit choked for a bit there, it does get ya. I know what you mean about the line-up, what to shoot? Spoilt for choice. Years ago I’d have my eye glued to a viewfinder filming the lot but too much of that and you miss just experiencing it all. I do a lot more mooching about and chatting now. I only got a few shots of the balbo this time as Mrs Slippa wandered off with my long lens and I got busy chatting with the fella about the workshop. We’d walked down from the West by the Rapide flights, watched the ground rehearsal for a bit before they went up.

Liveries taking up too much space for planes I don't even own.
Czar replied to MoCluck's topic in Game Performance Bugs
This failed. DCS does not recognize .zip/compressed liveries inside Saved Games/DCS/Liveries/<aircraft name>, the same way liveries are compressed inside DCS<rootfolder>/CoreMods/aircraft/<aircraft name>/Liveries. If there is a way to do it on another folder, I'm not aware. -
P-51D-25 - Joystick/Keyboard & Briefing/Load screen image... gone!

Great, thanks for your feedback. -
I wonder what would happen then if in TP/TP CC/Helm, and you turn on interaction. You lock a friendly. The laser is on so radar STT’s and locks itself. Then, with this friendly l locked with IRST and radar but in a TP mode, you turn on the switch to not lock any friendlies, would it drop lock? Perhaps the system knows the IFF from the radar despite not displaying it?

Someone mentioned before that the Oil cooler shutter control switch and Intercooler shutter control switch are wrong way round. The controls should be in line with each other horizontally but right now, they're crisscrossed. If someone has more information to confirm that would be nice. Same thing can be seen in some pictures and videos of the cockpit like in this one at 09:20. Yes, I know it's a razorback but it should still be the same in other variants as far as I know. I just confirmed that in DCS they are crisscrossed.

DCS World 2025 Screenshots and Video Thread
Gunfreak replied to ST0RM's topic in Screenshots and Videos
Doing something I rarely do, practice! I saw a little photo session on using the HAD to locate SAMs and then use the TPOD, never thought about doing that, as I find HARMs very very boring and almost never use them, I've almost never flown with the HAD. So apparently it has more uses than just firing boring HARMs. Never used the JSOWs either as people keep saying they suck. And they do that indeed. I now almost always run with splash damage script running, the latest versions, not only tune damage from bombs etc., but adds some great looking visual effects too. Though I think you have to "turn on" cluster bomb improvements, which I haven't done. Anyway, ran my little training mission twice, first time, didn't go well, hence the close up of the Buk 11 in one of the pictures, in the second go it went much better, both the SA6 and Buk11 got taken out by JSOW spam, 4 from me and 4 from my wingman. Some launchers still standing, but all radars are gone. -
