For aircraft that is primarily an A2A fighter/interceptor command for wingman (and flight) to engage bandits should be on top of the commands list, not last, because it is of most importance (esp when reaction time needs to be fast). Please change this. Also, Please add command for wingman & flight to Turn Radar ON and OFF, this is a must have IMHO but its currently lacking. If you don't have space for another command, then remove the Engage Infantry option as you can't even see infantry from the air in MiG-29A.
  7. I would say that this is a big part of the problem. That people are making comparisons to a mod for a 27 year old game, shows how limited the offerings are. If there was a modern alternative to DCS, where that alternative makes different choices, then people who don't like the choices that ED makes, would have an alternative. In general, I think that having that alternative would be very healthy in a lot of different ways (for players, third party developers, but also for ED).
  8. It does not matter. If I place radar to dummy, and in IRST scan mode lock someone, I will get radar range in 3 seconds. If with radar in Illum and IRST scan mode lock someone outside laser range, then place radar into dummy, I will then get radar range within 3 seconds. You just can’t use radar in coop mode while it is in dummy, so you need to move it back to Illum while keeping coop switch forward for that. Eventually coop switch forward will force radar to MPRF and 25 km scale

  10. So what is missing from the original post is that people avoid the public servers. A lot of people will host a server from their machine, for 2 or 3 friends, where they are free to play how they like.

  13. With only 68% super sampling every headset will look blurry for sure. It's a drastically low resolution. First of all, in SteamVR you can't change super sampling during runtime, it'll do nothing. You have to restart DCS (or any other VR app) every time you change this in Video Settings. Also make sure that Throttling Behaviour is set to fixed and the HMD is running in 120 Hz mode. Then check your system if any of the former Quest 2 tweaks are still in place / running in background... get rid of them. OTT and whatever. Also make sure SteamVR is the main OpenXR handler. For Quad Views settings check my earlier posts for a base to start on (there are two posts, take the newer one). Also check Quad Views log file, and DCS's logfile, they will post the settings and resolutions that are applied for the final images per eye. Make sure you have the latest PSVR2toolkit installed (with SteamVR integrated eye tracking). Also check if you have the latest DLSS dll running and try "Performance" setting with Preset K.
  14. I want to play at my convenience, not when others have the time. MP is always a commitment (unless you play with total randoms, which I don't care for), with SP I can play or not, and nobody else will care. My at times unreliable internet connection (I'm on a radio link) also doesn't bother me, nor am I affected if someone else doesn't make it, or has connection problems. Playing with others just adds a whole other level of fuss that I'm unwilling to deal with. Plus, as a VR player, I don't have performance to spare, and MP is poorly optimized in DCS.

  16. I have been using Cfrag`s "DML" "CivAir" for Years ! It is fantastic and i have a similar setup i use for running random timetable DCS Trains if ever the Broken Deactivation gets fixed ! I cant believe you people dont know about CivAir ! Download the DML Lua files the Manual and the Demos and give them a try. Sadly Cfrag is no longer updating DML " A VERY SAD HUGE LOSS to the Community " I Believe recent DCS updates and this Forum have stuffed things up yet again. You cannot afford to loose creators of His caliber. Give CivAir a go - I have attached the .miz demo - Civ Air International.miz

Having built many WW2 missions using the bombers we have, they remain very very slow to defend themselves , fighters can all to often rampage right through Large formations and not even be tracked or fired at by the bombers. Sometimes enemy fighters literally can fly formation with 12 bombers, ...and not draw any fire at all. This is my suggestion, ED creates the following in the ME. Levels of Bomber aggression. 1. LOW, Bombers will react to fighters as they do now 2. MEDIUM, Bombers track and then engage fighters at around 1 nm, using approximately half their capabilities. 3. HIGH, Bombers , start engaging fighters from over 1 nm, as a combined force using ALL their capabilities. The options that a formation can realistically use are , NO REACTION, and PASSIVE DEFENCE. Both of these are not enough and we need more detailed options. Historically Bombers fought like crazy to get to their targets and home safely, thats why fighters often waited for them to break formation...to pick off the stragglers. Attacking a massed formation of B 17s should be almost suicidal for a few fighters, Our Sim should allow Mission Builders to Mimic that reality., if they choose to do so.

  21. I know the new "Update has not been released yet" but what I asked is about those tram and steam-loco what we seen in that "DCS Normandy 2.0 preview" preliminary 2022 screenshots. There are already many big railway stations on both - French and English - side of the Channel. So nobody found those tram and steam loco on the map ? since 2022 ? Was really a "probably Early Click Bait to buy the Map" ? (by waterman) Well, I can hope only these vehicles will be released in the next update

  23. Sorry team, Since the last update and Hot fix, I'm still losing the crosshairs when going into XR and point track on the sniperpod. Helios is exporting the MFDs, so tried removing it all back to default but still losing the crosshairs. Are there other reported issues ongoing or worth running a repair? Thanks for the help!
  24. You can read all about it in my post here If you only move coop switch you only get IRST picking up lost radar lock. If you move radar switch from ILLUM to dummy when using the IRST modes ( IRST search/IRST vertical scan/opt/helmet) you get all the other functions I talk about in the post.
