its not that its inaccurate, its that its far more detailed.

With cockpit and game localization set to English the AWACS/GCI is still in Russian. With eyes on sensors, bandits, wingmen, or near rocks as you're ingressing/egressing at low altitude, having to take your eyes off more important things to read subtitles in the corner of the screen is a situational awareness nightmare; potentially a death sentence causing CFIT during low altitude flying. The AWACS/GCI voice needs to be in English and/or match the game's localization settings.

This happens on flat displays too, and is not exclusive to any one part of the module. The entire module has major shimmer. Something is wrong with it. Aerges needs to review it and solve it. Even the exterior paint shimmers more than all other modules combined.

Not to rehash a very old, very tired debate, but DCS lacks too many features and tools to use the word 'realistic', without it asking it to do an awful lot of heavy lifting.

I'm still setting up controls and getting a feel for the systems, but test BVR fights against the AI (admittedly all-seeing/all-knowing with perfect SA) equipped with AIM-7F's and M's have been pretty brutal. Contention at least offers the EWR script, with which I feel like I'd have a fighting chance at notching to the merge against human opponents with fallible SA. But I despair of trying it against more than 1 AI in a SP mission/campaign. My thought is that without a GCI/EWR system in SP, I'd personally prefer the slider of RWR fidelity>>>fun gameplay be adjusted in favour of cutting players a break. (And assuming the posters suggesting ED has modelled the SPO-15 incorrectly will be ignored) People's mileage in this regard will vary, of course. I very much WANT this module to be a best seller, and I'm not sure it will be. I take no joy in saying that, and hope to be proven wrong. It is insanely fun to fly and an absolute monster in WVR fights, I wholeheartedly concur.

In cockpit this light beam from landing gear lights is not visible, but is visible in the mirrors (but they shouldn't be) In addition, runway lights are not visible in the mirrors at all (actually they are visible only at very short distance only, my guess is that light sprites are the ones not visible, hence lights are not visible from further out) See screenshots

Guys, this is supposed to be feedback on the DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum. Please take other conversations elsewhere; I would rather not close it if I don't have to. Thanks.

Eh, were they And how would they know if there were F-15s in the air

I also found this to be odd. Does the Hind have the same AP system as the Hip? If so, it's strange that it behaves like this in the Hind, but not in the Hip. Actually, I found a different way to trim. Since the Hind has an actual trim hat (don't think I've ever seen this on any other helicopters?) I only use trim release for any major stick movements, which usually happens only during the major transitional periods of flight. i.e, take off, setting for cruise, or when landing. Besides those, unless I again need big movements for some reason, I just trim it like conventional aircraft trim. I tap tap tap on trim until it slowly reaches a point of no force (i.e my joystick spring) and I can let go of my stick without changing attitude. It works marvelously. Obviously don't know if that's how the trim hat is supposed to work in the real hind (again haven't seen any other helos have a trim hat?), or if this is procedural, but this is a lot better for me than to have to fight the pitch AP every time I re-trim.

investigating Angle of attack indicator stuck
Xander8912 replied to ECTAE's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello, I experience the same issue on a test mission I made. I suspect temperature playing a role in that, it was -2°C and a few minutes after take off, the AoA needle freeze anytime I played it. I change meteo to 15°C and the problem disappeared. Everytime played with pitot heat on of course. -
Thanks! Illumination rockets are lots of fun! Actually, flying this thing at night in general is a lot of fun! Also I tried what you suggested, full moon vs half moon. What I noticed is that with half moon the AI CPG is able to see targets around the same distance, but is not able to identify what they are (just says "ground"). He gets identity of them at about half distance of when full moon. Also has anyone noticed how gorgeous the game has become with the new volumetric clouds? I had rain and thick clouds, and you can actually see the light glow from distant city lights on the clouds it's really cool! Also the taxi/landing light in the cloud soup look great nullnullnull

I mean doctrinally mig29 pilots were told not to engage eagles. Vipers were fair game tho.

Sorry, but the barrage of fifteen "+1" posts rubbed me the wrong way ... I will unsubscribe from the thread, as I don't want to be perceived as going against fellow fans

ENHANCED Fire v1.0 for DCS 2.9.20.xxxxx
moran replied to moran's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
I kind of agree.. BUT that shader has too many equations for my brain, the goal here was to have a stable animation from far way. The fireball aspect I think it's correct in size but I had a difficult time decoupling the flames and the smoke, the fire should consume in seconds and then just smoke and barely any flames visible. Almost all crashes have the fuel consumed in a giant fireball in a couple of seconds like this, I will try to see if I understand how to tune that! -
That's a bit unfair - You've never read that it's implemented, and only ever seen it in that one video where it has "EXPERIMENTAL" written across the screen every second it's in view - I would read that without ambiguity as its' experimental and not a standard feature... When you next hear Wags saying "what's that Eurofighter doing there", that doesn't mean the Eurofighter is already in game....

DCS MiG-29A Flight performance and air drag seems weird
Bremspropeller replied to HoMeBoY's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
The G manual says - maneuvering LEFs come down whenever necessary (AoA greater 8.7° and M less than 0.8 {+/-} and retracting when above said Mach or below 7° AoA) - LEF come down with flaps selected down - LEF come down with gear selected down (gear down overrides flap up) There's no mention of different LEF schedules and it just mentions one UP and two DOWN buttons. "Pushing either DOWN button extends all flaps. Pushing the UP button retracts flaps and LEF, provided gear is up."
