  2. May I suggest the humble GTR-18 Smokey SAM, a training device simulating the visuals of a SAM launch. I would also love to see a configurable MUTES of some sort. And I would also love to see the C-160 Transall. All of these fit many of the possible scenarios in DCS. The Smokey SAM and MUTES would massively increase the immersion and realism of training against SAM systems.
  3. Is this still maintained? Was looking to try the GTR-18 Smokey SAM but it appears it is no longer functioning with the current version of the game.
  4. This is a separate issue. And well at a guess we won't have AI GCI or whatever its going to be for a while. I'd much rather have a SPO that actually works when the radar is on, even though having used it a bunch with the radar off, its fairly sus/useless anyway, but its modeled correctly in that regard as far as I can tell. The whole it doesn't work with the radar on is the main point of contention.
  5. ahah no worries mate!
  6. Проверьте положение головы в кабине относительно заголовника кресла. В VR мне кажется что дефолтная точка немного смещена вперёд, я центрируюсь с поправкой и получаю "нормальный" размер индикации.
  7. Exactly. From what I can determine. The blanker board basically is just programmed to turn off the input to the SPO in 3 microsecond intervals (the length of the TX of the N019). This isn't hard to do its a very simple on/off circuit. The issue seems to be "synching" that with the radar itself. Because if its off by a few tens of nanoseconds that signal will get detected as a strong X band signal. This is the cause of the "spurious" signals as described in above manuals and quotes. So thats something that "MAY" happen. In a well tuned set or system it wont. The whole it just shuts off totally might be some "self protect" mode for the SPO if the radar goes out of synch entirely. Given the lack of spare parts in the 90's and 2000's for this, its very easy to believe ED's SME's jets were just broken, because you don't really need an RWR in peactime. They probably just turned the whole thing off. BUT, its not how it would work in a perfectly maintained jet, which is the DCS standard for every other module. Like I'm sure the F4 RWR was probably janky AF at times when maintenance didn't do their job due to lack of parts/time. But it works "as it should" in DCS.
  8. My wingman (AI) taxies out to the runway, pauses and gets chocked under his wheels on the runway. Not realistic or necessary.
  9. The beeping that comes with the master caution was removed a long, long time ago based on SME feedback. It's only audible when the landing gear is in transition or during the signal lights lamp test. Any other case, don't expect any audible feedback for any caution light or the master caution. Other than that, I run these tests all the time and haven't noticed anything wrong with them. The APU spooling down could be caused by a bunch of things, chief among them a throttle in idle where the APU will try to start the engine before it's spooled up itself, possibly resulting in a spool up/spool down cycle. Or the jet has absolutely no fuel whatsoever, leading to APU shutdown. Like ASAP said, a track would be a great help. Barring that, a video or a detailed explanation of the switches you actuate, very specifically in which order, would allow us to check if there are steps missing. Which mission do you use (Instant Action, Campaign, self-built)? What's the environment like (super hot, super cold, extremely windy etc)?
  10. Just edit line 49 View.lua and then use the associated key commands for view panning.
  11. SPO-15 was modular and cassete based to interface with different jets which all had different blanking requirements for radars, IFF, radios, DL etc, so the Sapfir-23 thing makes no sense, the mig29 had to have its own "interface" card as it used different IFF, radios etc as well.
  12. Would like to make the following suggestion to the sps contention server administrators: Remove the F-86 option to carry missiles (but can still carry bombs and rockets). OR: Remove both the F-86 and the Mig 15 from this Server together. Reason: For Server balance. The F-86 with missiles has an unfair advantage over the mig 15 (no missiles) on this server. Best option is to remove both aircraft from your Server or eliminate the F-86 missile carrying option and allow it to carry only guns, bombs, and rockets. Some players try to compare the F-86 missile carrying capabilities to the su-25 but that is mixing 'apples and oranges'. The su-25 is the CAS aircraft opposite the A-10 for perfect balance. The F-86 w/missiles is a severe imbalance since once side could use more f-86s w/missiles. Not an option with Mig 15 aircraft. I love both aircraft to fly but they have a place on other Servers. FYI
  13. I took my original mission and deleted all triggers ... still no radio until I delete the helipads!
  14. Blanking is separate from launch detection. Blanking happens very early in processing, before it gets to the fancy things like counting impulses and measuring intervals.
  15. A track file would help. The generators and fuel pump switches are generally left in the on position and that is where they are when the pilot gets in the jet. They updated the game to reflect real world procedures based on subject matter expert input (except when you get that crew-chief that insists on everything being "Off, safe, normal"). As for your startup issue... battery on, inverter on, test your lamps, start the APU. if you are doing all those things and its not working I'd start turning off add ons and make sure you load a default mission to make sure its not something up with the mission you're trying to run.
  16. After take off, the wheels won't come up beyond the position shown. Not overspeeding. Every time the same. The tube in the cockpit shows full retraction.

  18. Modern HOTAS ads on a carefully crafted 1980s map intended for immersion... or a WWII one. ....or in a serious campaign during reconstruction of real life events in a war which often are tragic. Tone cannot be further away than a racing sim, which is about a sport which is hand in hand with capitalist values, which is fine. I think it is in bad taste to put ads on DCS maps in quantity to generate resources. The current ads everywhere culture kind of sucks too. There are much more efficient ways to generate resources without kneeling to the advertising world: making a good job on a module, collaborations outside the sims with related brands (already being done), Content Creators (already being done). Sorry for being too negative. Fair skies and happy flying.
  19. I dug this out. Bought a Logitech Brio, it does not work with AITrack, only when I start LogiCapture which causes lack. As soon as I hit "Start Tracking", after 3-5 seconds the App just closes.

  22. When Matt said that, was he saying that ALL MiG-29 9.12s had unsynchronised RWR/Radar functions? Or was he refering the exact particular MiG-29 9.12 ED used as reference, meaning the one that had synchronisation issues. If its the latter, that would suggest we are getting a broken MiG-29 with unserviced RWR/Radar synchronisation. From what I've read and seen others site, the MiG-29 9.12 did have RWR/Radar synchronisation which leads me to believe ED based their model off an unserviced, broken MiG-29 that wasn't fully capable/operational. In that case, why not model a factory new MiG-29 in the way the soviets originally designed it to be. From a realism point of view, modelling an unserviced and broken jet seems inconsistent, especially when "fictional for convinience" features include things like unhistorical english HUD/HDd etc. Having a realistic RWR/Radar operation function modelled as "fictional" would be nice if you ask me. And for those who want the hardcore experience add an option for it in the special tab.
  23. I checked and I have no idea what you're talking about. Can you be more specific, please?

Und mal wieder Zeit für ein Treiber-Update bei Nvidia, wenn man das von Hand macht: https://www.heise.de/news/Schadcode-Luecken-in-Nvidia-GPU-Treiber-geschlossen-10749431.html
  25. Evening all. After several years away from the A10C,I have decided to try and get back into it again -and almost immediately I have run into issues with the start up procedure. The first thing I notice is that I can no longer undertake the "test" check of either Oxy or Fuel (no alarm or quantity needle swing). Also, AC GEN PWR is aways in the ON position(previously these had to be selected). Finally, when going to APU START the needle will go no further than 60% before winding down. I have tried both internal and external power ups, but the result is the same. Am I missing a step in the start procedure or do I have gremlin in the system? If you can assist, please bear in mind that I am not terribly PC/Sim au fait. Thanks in anticipation.
  26. I doubt there is a lot of money to made in this. Contrary to a racetrack, there is not much of a way to force people to pass by these billboards much. Be that as it may, I would the M230 punches properly positioned holes through the Meta billboard...
