More would be better. Goats & chickens + 1 various civilian everythings - desperately needed. As has been said - currently everything on legs that moves is military. You can set objects to be from the neutral side, but from a pod or weapons' sight they'll still look like soldiers. Motorbikes are probably tricky - cars, trucks etc don't have to lean in the corners. I guess they'd need a whole new physics model. Cave / tunnel entrances is a good idea, as is a bit of disturbed earth to drop by a road to indicate that someone's been digging there. The explosives can be just triggered, but you need something to find them by. (I thought I remembered there being mines you could place already in the game?) For the others, an explosion on unit for any of the existing vehicles gets you fertiliser bombs etc...

Needing Knowledgeable Input On PC Build

Hi, it doesn't really matter as long as the radiator provides the required cooling capacity. For an AMD Ryzen 7 9800x3d, I would recommend a CPU cooler with a TDP classification of at least 250W. Here, as almost everywhere, more is better. With an air cooler, however, it is essential to ensure that the warm air is removed from the housing and that enough cool air is supplied. Otherwise the fan will start to draw in warm air (which also reduces the efficiency of the cooler) which will then continue to heat up, theoretically until the temperature in the PC case is the same as on the surface of the CPU. This means that the cooling capacity is virtually ZERO. Conclusion: Air cooling only if the warm air is ‘pulled’ out of the housing and sufficient cool air is ‘pushed’ in. Greetings- 11 replies

Okay, tried all that. Somehow the thing got set to the simple flight model. The Mosquito must have done that cuz I never use thae simple one. Anyway, all that did was make it worse. It's like, as soon as the tail comes off the ground, the thing just goes out of control and will spin to the left or right and no amount of rudder or differential braking will bring it back. One time out of about 20 attempts, I got it airborne but it was still pretty much unflyable for me and shortly after takeoff it just rolled to the left and crashed regardless of what I tried to make it do.. I don't know what I'm doing wrong but this one is a NO for me. Glad it was a trial and I didn't pay for it yet.

If you've got the airflow, then air cooling will suffice. Water isn't really superior in performance unless you go with some sort of multi-radiator custom setup. There are some configurations where you might see a difference, but with a big, drafty case, cooling the 9800X3D shouldn't be a problem with a sufficiently beefy air cooler. Incidentally, while the X3D CPUs generally aren't much for traditional overclocking, you might want to look into undervolting. Same with the GPU. Also, one more thing, try to have at least one more fan blowing inwards than outwards. It will tend to create positive pressure inside the case, keeping the dust out to some extent (assuming there's some kind of filter on the intake, of course). The other way around will result in dust being sucked into the case through any openings which don't have a filter.- 11 replies

reported S-3 skins broken again
Reflected replied to Nealius's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
I tried deleting these skins from the campaign folder, but still, none of the S-3 skins work. So it's not related to the "campaign fix", it's gotta be the lua structure. -
Mirage III is interesting, but I'd rather have a Super Etendard. Spain didn't fly those, but they've had a very long combat history, and would be notable as non-US carrier aircraft.

Needing Knowledgeable Input On PC Build

I got ya. I haven't picked out a case yet. I've only built 1 custom pc, before that I just used prefabbed store bought rigs. I've never been big on aesthetics, just airflow. I really like the big atx case I have now from NZXT. It gives me a lot of open air space and the way I have all my fans routing. It's really efficient when it comes to the airflow circuit. So I'll probably just use it until I get around to picking another one up for my current hardware. I don't overclock, so hopefully the heat won't get out of hand or I'll definitely switch to a water cooled solution. Or I could do an oil filled case like one that was featured on, Linus Tech Tips once.- 11 replies

Your CPU will boost its clock when it needs to. You don't need to overclock or do anything, your 14700k is great for DCS. -

Well, @Dragon1-1, @TimberWolf, @speed-of-heat. This is what I just finished putting together on pc_parts_picker, I use it just to get a basis of my parts. I went with the heavier supply because of my, peripherals. But, I made the changes that you three recommended. And if ya'll think this would yield good performance. Good Lord willing, I'm gonna go ahead and start ordering next week and make me a heck of a comfortable place to sleep on the couch .- 11 replies

Now i finally uncaged it. All connections and elements (motors, wires, gears, etc) are ok. I really wonder is it hardware or software issue.

I don't remember where I downloaded it from, but somebody mentioned that it was provided by Heatblur. Anyway, there's a video by Growling Sidewinder in which he uses HARMs and gets a good tone with no problems. But it was published almost a year ago, so maybe something has changed since then.

Looks like latest DCS update broke the mod now. Cant get pylons to work. Some wont mount at all and you can only select two tanks never 3 except on the E models preset but if you ever make a change you lose the missile pylon entirely Tried to change from Aim120C to Aim120D and welp deleted the missiles and now I cant mount anything there.

Yes I never use it either, but sometimes it seems there is some ghost input putting it on! It seems OP’s problem was solved. Are you turning on your route channel within the Doppler limits of +/-7 degrees pitch or 30 degrees roll? 50-300 kmh? Usually you can’t use it above 260-289 kmh becuase you need such a negative pitch angle it disables the Doppler -
As far as I know Heatblur hasn't put out a .lua file that allows the F-4 to use the AGM-88 (I could be wrong but I have not seen any official .lua mod in a quick search), and modded weapons don't always work the best.

It's up to you, and will depend on the case you're planning to use. 9800X3D will need a lot of cooling, for water you probably want a 3x120mm radiator, a 2x140mm one is equivalent but rare. Both option require a large case to fit them, especially if you want a top mounter radiator (vastly superior configuration, but with those sizes only possible in very large cases). If going for air, a large heatsink and good case airflow is a must, and that means you'll need a fairly wide case with a lot of fans. Someone else can probably elaborate further on that, I personally use water and plan to keep doing so. Incidentally, while RGB RAM may raise costs significantly, off-brand RGB fans are not that expensive, and most serious gaming hardware (including both your mobo and GPU) features fancy lighting in some form by default. AIOs commonly have some RGB, as well (these days the fancy ones are the ones with an LCD on the pump). It's neither hard or expensive to make a spiffy-looking rig these days.- 11 replies

All right, so I set up a simple Wild Weasel mission against an SA-2. I carried both HARMs and Shrikes. When I was flying towards the radar and armed Shrikes, I could hear the high-pitched tone, but when I armed HARMs, the tone was gone. I use the "official" (I guess it was made available by Heatblur) F-4E.lue file in the F-4E Entry folder. Am I doing something wrong?

*Aid the option to permit satellites orbiting in low Earth orbit to be shot down. Such as using the strike eagle. *Make a feature that permits us to do terraforming. Create new islands, cities, harbors, and infrastructure to add variety. *Add the option to control the heights of waves. It can be a challenge taking off or landing on a carrier during a storm when strong winds cause waves to crash against the carrier *Update the super carrier to permit pilots to start below deck, ride the elevator to the flight deck, or go to the hangar bay below deck. *For the Panama Canal, give features to show historical American military bases as well as modern bases used today.

Thought I would reignite this old flame. With Afghanistan being out, it would be really nice to have a third party make some FPS modules to include fire teams and modular building we could place on the map and enter for CQC. Along with allied FPS modules you could have Insurgent packs with different load outs and outfits. I will keep fanning this flame. I hope a third party makes a run at working with ED on something like this. I would love to see something similar to the likes of Ground Branch. That is what I used in this video.
