  1. Past hour
  2. Well no amount of money will make VR perform well, so… better stick with a monitor. Personally I wouldn’t spend a huge sum of money on a screen that wasn’t an OLED. G-Sync support is also a must-have feature for any high refresh screen IMO.
  3. Ok. So it is about resolution. So the SE wasn't the first.
  4. I currently have Lenovo laptop with an i7-10810U and integrated graphics card. As you can imagine, for most tasks, it is fine, but for a game machine, it sucks. DCS stutters and the frame rate is so low that it is not playable. I am looking at building a budget computer with basically outdated higher end parts. I found a used case and motherboard that will accept a 12th or 13th Gen Intel. I am thinking i7-12700K. To keep things reasonable, I have been looking at the GTX1070 and GTX1070ti. My Daughter has a GTX 2060 in her computer and she is looking to upgrade. I may buy that from her so she can afford the one she wants. Anyway, would this combo, with the right amount of memory be a good combo for DCS?
  5. the 200mb attachmentnull limit means im having to remove some old photos to post new ones sadly but heres the sun regardless
  6. Lets be real, everyone is the DCS gets shot down give or take 100 times more often then IRL. So where is the point in this? Besides, its a game. No need to complicate things. There are way more important thing to fix, add or what ever, then this.
  7. Just compare the Ground Mapping Radar of the Strike Eagle on release and the Hornet or Viper at the same time the Eagle was released. Thats why im talking about FIRST in the category. If you know well the Strike Eagle you can tell the difference
  8. I don't understand. Is it solely on the resolution side?
  9. I don't like the instant action generator. Seriously, it gives me nothing of the functionality I used to love. I could create a new mission, go to advanced, choose time of day, season, levels of enemy activity, but most importantly, I can pick and airfield, a plane, say I want to start on the ramp. I can set up my own training missions. I can set up a no-enemy free-fly. The full mission editor is woefully annoying to use, horrific to actually use and clunky AF to even try placing a player aircraft at a field you want to spawn at. Having the easy mission creator screen was a god-send that really made learning new modules so much better for me. Learning new, or just enjoying old ones. Fine-tuning control mapping changes and ergonomic changes I make to see what's better for flying, I enjoyed the old editor way better. Is it still available? I don't think I saw it. I'm not saying get rid of the instant action generator, just don't remove a very appreciated tool and replace it with one that gives me none of the things I need.
  10. All of them as Heatblur and other 3rd party weapons. Enviado desde mi CPH2197 mediante Tapatalk
  11. We are close to two years now, 2 years of possible development halted. Imagine what things could came in two years
  12. As we see the dispute's progress, it looks like payment or resolution will not happen for quite some time.
  13. At first release ? light years ahead of everything DCS had. When the Strke Eagle was released, the High Resolution synthetic aperture image was a first in this category Now with 2+ years of development, the gap streched, yes. But the things you can do with the ground mapping radar image with the Strike Eagle is not comparable with anything on the Hornet or Viper. Just compare the image and resolution the APG-70 can do and is modelled with any Hornet or Viper image.
  14. When Windows Defender nixes a file (and it has happened before) you get a log, a list of quarantined files, a history of what it did. I've dug into it. That did not happen here. Rather, and this is also not the first time it has happened, ED released a launcher/updater version that screwed something up as it updated itself. Repair, update, and file check, all within the updater version itself that ED just updated, failed to catch this, but "install" on one specific tab worked. Note that the AV did not stop the workaround. Note that AV does not have any logs, quarantined files noted, nothing. As I said, I jumped through every hoop I could. This was not AV related. I know it's an easy scapegoat, but I hate when people keep blaming the AV when the first thing everybody does is make sure the AV wasn't the problem, and then ask for help.
  15. Let me ask another way. The A-10C for example is pre programmed for the Warthog, will it be the same with orion2?
  16. Quick dumb question. How's is that different to the Hornet's and Viper's?
  17. Thanks for checking. Can't do much about DCS mistakes. Hopefully the bug writeup will get some action for the next patch. Should be relatively low hanging fruit... Just for grins, I manually edited the radio.lua for Nevada to change it to "Bouldercity" and it loaded without error with bcn installed. So its good until the next update overwrites it. Not that I know how to invoke it currently. I may steal ferry.lua from your caucasus mission and see if it works with bcn in Nevada.
  18. New Raptor Mod is released (v2.1.0). Is you enhancement mod still compatible? Regards, Manuel
  19. Hm, i can not get the germans to work. HX Truck shows up to select it, but there is no preview and when the map loaded it doesnt show up as well. All installed like the others
  20. 6 June 2025 Dear Fighter Pilots, Partners and Friends, This week’s patch went out on Tuesday, the 3rd of June, and brought a campaign-focused refresh that trims load times, polishes radio work, and injects new AI behaviour across some of our community’s favourite storylines. From Combat King’s completely re-sculpted A-10C II Operation Agile Spear to Reflected’s Jester-enhanced Phantom sorties, this update is all about sharper immersion and smoother play. Please update and download the 2.9.16.10973.1 build. Marianas 1944 and the smell of the Pacific blue is on the horizon! After months of meticulous island-hopping, our World-War-II rendition of the Mariana Islands has reached release-candidate status. 1944 Saipan, Tinian, Guam, and their sister islands now bristle with crushed-coral runways, Quonset camps, and shipwreck-strewn lagoons, ready for your Corsairs! We are progressing steadily and looking forward to releasing this free module very soon. For evenings filled with the hiss of afterburners and a canopy filled with contrails, check out the DCS Dogfighters Discord! They are the hosts of the BFM 1v1 cup by VIRPIL Controls and offer 1v1 and 2v2 servers for you to enjoy and sharpen your skills. Join up. Thank you for your passion and support. Yours sincerely, Eagle Dynamics DCS Campaigns Development Progress A-10C II Operation Agile Spear receives a full campaign diet: compressed voice-overs, lighter briefing art, and wholesale replacement of legacy AI flights cut mission load-times dramatically. Three sorties: 03, 05, 08 are brand-new builds with revised strike packages, smarter enemies, and reworked scoring, while every mission gains fresh chatter and cleaner radio logic. Watch out for the surprise on Mission 15’s short final. UH-1H Peacekeeper Lebanon fixes its opening ferry flight by restoring the correct Almirante Lynch NDB, ensuring a smooth coastal hop. F/A-18C Inherent Resolve patches Mission 1’s stuck debrief, adds a TGP and extra ordnance, and fine-tunes Delta Flight re-joins; Mission 3 is now a hot-start armed-recce with optional Hard/Immortal modes, refreshed target sets and working audio cues. In the most recent update, you can also find that Reflected Simulations’ Tomcat and Phantom sagas have received quality-of-life passes. Fear the Bones and Speed & Angels now compute carrier wind-over-deck precisely, adopt Tomcatter 87’s new S-3 skins, and boost radio-signal strength. Both MiG Killers and Red Flag 81-2 integrate the latest Jester logic for snappier calls and smarter bars. Marianas WWII Development Progress Over the past quarter, we finalized the core terrain mesh, completed eleven wartime airfields based on survey data, and replaced modern infrastructure with heritage structures, including barracks, cane presses, and Shinto shrines. Vegetation density was recalibrated to 1940s agricultural patterns, and new shader compiling has shaved nearly 20% off GPU load in over-island dogfights. The free Marianas 1944 map is now feature-complete and internal testing is nearing completion. Currently, our artists are fine-tuning areas such as Ushi Point on Tinian and the Orote Peninsula based on 1944 field recordings, images, and footage. We are also working on mission content. Looking ahead, our next milestone is to lock the build and provide a release candidate to our internal and Closed Beta testers. We will then conduct large-scale multiplayer stress tests and deliver the map into Early Access. Stay tuned! 21. Suggestion: Add a keyboard shortcut to switch between ALLIES and ALL in the in-game chat I suggest implementing a keyboard shortcut that allows players to toggle between ALLIES and ALL in the text chat window. This shortcut would let users quickly select the correct recipient group at a glance, without having to manually click the dropdown menu each time. One key advantage of this feature would be the ability to use external macro tools (like AutoHotkey or voice commands) to send predefined messages to the correct group, improving communication speed and accuracy during missions.
  22. Yes you have to reconfigure because your WinWing will show up as a new device in your controller setup.
  23. Today
  24. Ground Mapping Radar with syntetic image came first with the Eagle. The processed image to work with it. Basic Ground mapping is another thing. About that RB modules will be lost with time and DCS updates in the future is just my oppinion, but nothing i´ve read, two years after, from different sources, here and there are pointing me to a different outcome. I can be totally wrong Remember ED doesnt have any code from RB modules or any other third party to keep them compatible with DCS in the future (just search for Dzen staments in the russian forums) They can keep DCS code compatible, not breaking RB modules. For how long?
  25. Make the speed and sensitivity of TDC/sensor cursors for the F-16 and the F-18, independently tunable? i.e. In the Hornet, if the curve and saturation isn't tuned way down, the sensor cursor is nearly impossible to control with precision in A2A. But, when a curve is used and the saturation cut down to try and correct the erratic movement. That then makes slewing Mavs or the TGP painfully slow. It's the same way with the antenna elevation/TGP zoom
  26. It's a bit more complex than a simple reversion, and has been reported to ED multiple times already. I'll see if a note can be added in one of the next kneeboard updates. Thanks!
