/on-topic Dear Wags, ED Team, As the CO of a squadron of very eager (v) Hog pilots I need to ask the question right on. The new code was planned to be tested this weekend and if all well would be released this week. We learned from the Russian forums that problems were encountered. To stop my pilots from refreshing the download page every minute and get them back to flying: Is the new beta still slated for release this week or will we have to wait a bit more? Man I was just checking the latest info on this and just saw this trailer. Probably one of the coolist looking game trailers I have seen in a long time. But the physics in this game look to be amazing. I know its not related to flight but its looking good. I actually pre-ordered it. HAHAHA. Thanks for a fun game this evening. Had a lot of fun with Legion and Guppy, unfortunately BS crashed when I was on my way back to the newly-taken Kras..Had a lot of fun up up until that point!

Да я не против, за одно моддерам был бы дополнительный резон заниматься любимым делом, все таки профит. На счет качества бесплатных разработок вынужден не согласиться... Обычно люди, которым подвластен такой объем работ, очень грамотны и привередливы. Опять же не спорю, лажи всегда будет больше чем конфет, но на то оно и коммунити, чтобы отфильтровывать всякую чушь, и оставлять только самое лучшее.

основания есть но они заканчиваются с выходом патча к ЛО-2,и эти основания вполне обоснованы. Well lets say you have made that very clear in the past and most of us know and understand ED's position. However, yes there is an however as stupid as I am to get into this. Am I the only one that sees the benefits of keeping FC2 updated or at least supported by the community. DCS is a very nice, well ok great simulator, but it takes a lot of time to produce a module as we have now witnessed with the KA-50 and now the A-10. There is a fan base that by the time we see a fighter in DCS, we will be at the end of our flight sim. careers for want of a better word. I watched a program on the Military Channel the other nite about the A10 and Iraqi. It is extremely difficult to maintain SA was the line of thought in this program, when pilots are in combat. The A10 and I will also say the KA50, is saturation overload in combat. This was agreed upon by ex military pilots who flew the A10. Now back to us. How real do we need these sims. to be? FC2 fills a gap very nicely and is still today the choice of the Virtual Aerobatic Teams as well as those who fly the fast moving fighters. I would say that as of today FC2 still has no equal. This should be supported by at least the community and in my own humble opinion ED, as well. I am sure it still generates revenue, although not what ED would deem sufficient to continue with. So the short of it is, as a community at least lets see FC2 supported by our modders who do fantastic work. That's it folks. My long 2 cents worth. rattler

Спасибо за положительную оценку моей мысли, что прежде всего говорит о том, что Вы внимательно читаете. В форумах любят выдернуть одну фразу из сложного предложения и изгаляться. Касательно предложенной схемы - владельцы серверов, или влиятельные сквады (что в общем одно и то же) в соотношении 50/50 наши и западные могли бы осуществлять серьёзное тестирование бетаверсий аддонов, а ЕД осуществлять родительский контроль, тем паче известно, что в серьёзных сквадах эксплуатируют технику в полном объёме и перекосы ни в какую сторону никому не интересны. Разумный подход к делу - ключ к успеху. Высказывались опасения, что выкладывать код игры опасно - однако все взрослые люди знают, что сломать можно что угодно... Господ моддеров и "вольных программистов" необходимо возглавить, упорядочить (ЕД) и направить (комьюнити) - уверен - всем польза. Маэстро ( ЕД ) - дирижируйте!

Я за раздачу инструментов ... но против "общественного КБ" потому что в итоге мы получим то же что и имеем сейчас освоив тулзы они ударятся в детальные ФМ аля Ка-50 и будут делать те крафты которые им надо ... инструмент должен быть доступен ВСЕМ !! а уж всяческие КБ сами сформируются на этой почве

Sitting at the center of gravity and spinning in place is not the same thing as simulating the G forces on a pilot's body in flight. That's why a G force centrifuge puts the cabin out on an arm away from the pivot point. The idea of a motion platform is not to match the attitude of the aircraft in flight one for one. The idea is to simulate the sensations experienced by the pilot in flight using the motion of the platform and the earth's natural force of gravity. If the pilot pulls positive G, he/she feels pinned down and back into the seat. The pilot does not feel as if they are tumbling backwards (as it would feel with this motion platform).

Hi, Beta 5 is scratched as public beta, Beta 6 should be coming out soon, though. It will supposedly be both a Complete install and a Patch (just guessing here, but since that's what we've gotten since the first patch...). Kind regards, Bart

If I might suggest, try the Dell Outlet. They have scratch and dent systems that are very reasonable. These are refurbished systems, but most of the systems they sell are just computers that were sent back for reasons such as: * Company ordered 50 but only needed 48 * Kid thinks it's a lemon because he caused a blue screen * Grandma got a virus Before they send these systems out they go through them with a fine toothed comb. In my expert opinion (18yrs and 3 manufacturers) you're more likely to get a good working system from the outlet than from the assembly line. I've had a XPS720 for three years. With a few inexpensive upgrades, I'm running DCS at full settings. High end example Mid range example EDIT: Sorry someone just bought the high end example I posted. They go pretty quick. I would suggest calling the sales office and telling them you're looking for a refurb for high end gaming. The agent will watch for you and contact you when it comes in so you can purchase it. They sometimes even have Alienware systems for less than $1000. I would give him the recommended specs for DCS:A-10 and let him work it out. Do get a second opinion though. Oh.. and btw.. I defer to advice of EtherealN and GGTharos.

Вопрос к разработчикам - реализован ли неконтактный взрыватель на ЗРК. Если реализован, то срабатывает ли он от зданий и ЛЭП? Зенитчики рассказывали, что если цель на сверхмалой высоте то срабатывает запрет на пуск.

В Ил-2 проблема в онлайне например легко решается. Есть отличный мод про Корею с новыми летабами той эпохи, подробными кабинами, с новой сложной процедурой запуска двигателя и даже с ракетой класса воздух-воздух! И есть специальный сервер где можно спокойно летать в онлайне(очень интересно)! Это по сути новая игра! В планах у этих парней ближневосточный театр и вьетнам!

IMHO the "most cost effective" rudders are the ones that are built to last, with quality components and are ergonomic. The price is a variable that is spread over the lifetime of the device's use, so if the rudder pedals last you say 6-8 years the initial cost takes a different perspective. There is a saying, "purchase quality once, or cheap over and over".

Really? I'd do my best to assist you if you can't because B4 is a pretty huge simulation - complete or not. Hopefully you can at least run any of the previous betas because as long as I've been running them, they all challenge me. I really haven't been affected by many of the the bugs that have been addressed after beta3 because I've been just so focused on learning the aircraft and systems (I think I purchased during B2). Maybe it was B1. No matter. Huge study sim, with lots to experience. Lots to learn. But if you are missing all this, you are really missing something special. I have not been this 'into' it since buying FalconX? with 3-ring binder doc. I actually feel like I need to dig that book out of the closet now because of DSC A-10. Maybe I should re-read some of my old Jane's title docs too because back then, it seemed a lot of the sim docs included more than just the button functions, they also included lessons and docs on how to survive. MAKE your system happy with the beta's if you can.
