Good Afternoon Everyone. I have released the Sinai Map Commercial Vessels Pack Two and the Pilot Boat. Included in Pack Two are EVER Apex, Madrid Maersk, Feeder Ship, and CMA_CGM_Benjamin. Pilot Boat will be located under Small vessels. I'm playing DCS Stable that's why you can see the smoke from the Stacks/Chimney. I removed all the mods from their duplicate folders. I updated my storage account as mentioned before so there shouldn't be any download restrictions. Just FYI! There may be a few days before I upload more Commercial Mods. Have to take a few Modding Holidays. As always let me know if there are any major technical issues. Enjoy!! The Commercial Vessels Pack Two are located here: Commercial Ships - Pack Two -- Pilot Boat Admiral18913 points

Work is underway on an AI mod that will allow the H-6 bomber to carry hypersonic aeroballistic missiles. These are the latest single-stage missiles with the 2PZD-21 index, which allows to rapidly strike radio-emitting targets: warships and air defense systems. This mod will modify the loadout of stock AI-aircraft from Deka Chinese asset Pack. Next planned missile is ASBM YJ-21 for H-6 bomber. PZD-strike.miz ALBM 2PZD-21 v 0.9.9.rar4 points

The Pantsir fires the 5706 radio-command-guided missile. The missile has no seeker for you to detect. The Pantsir also has an electro optical targeting system and doesn't even have to use radar. You would need some sort of Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS) to detect it. Preferably one of the newer Ultraviolet based systems.4 points

В настройках МИ-8 есть такая опция "Максимальный угол зрения", которая устанавливается ползунком. Вот, было бы здорово установить эту опция для всех модулей. Очень удобно и практично, особенно когда смена угла обзора назначена на ось.4 points

I think it would be neat if Polychop kept specialising in light helicopters. They will have an American one and a Western European one, but we will still be missing an Eastern European counterpart. The only real opportunity to do this is the PZL Mil Mi-2. Why the Mil Mi-2 is a worthwhile addition: 1) It is the closest Soviet equivalent to the light NATO helicopters (e.g. OH-58, Sa-342, Bo-105). Although it is slower at 210 km/h, with a lower disk loading, its payload and role put it in the lighter utility helicopter category (good for spotting, medivac gameplay etc.) 2) It is the next most produced Soviet helicopter at ~5500 examples (after the Mi-8 with ~17,000 built and the Mi-24 with ~2650). 3) It pioneered the twin turbine roof arrangement of the Mi-8 and Mi-24 (and other later Soviet helicopters). It is also cute. 4) The Polish variants (particularly the Mil Mi-2URP) have a remarkable armament including: Fixed forward firing 23mm cannon Flexibly mounted door guns Air-to-Air missiles (Strela) Rockets (up to 32 rockets) MCLOS anti-tank missiles (4xMalyutka-M ready to fire, four reloads in the cargo compartment). Furthermore these weapons could be carried asymmetrically in the URP version - allowing up to three types of weapons to be carried at once (giving it a more varied armament than the Western light helicopters we are likely to get).3 points

Our Mi-8 co-pilot always has only Russian (Russian Federation) big flag on his uniform, even if pre-1991 date is selected. Please make it the Soviet Union for earlier scenarios on uniform for USSR era (or no flag like it historically was). This flag is really big and very much visible for the whole flight and it breaks the immersion in earlier Sovier-era scenarios, Cold War, Afganistan etc. when such country didn't exist. Honestly this is one (of many) issues which puts me off the AH-64. I end up trying to CPG with my head on the floor or in some other quirky position. Please fix the glare. Anti glare 'technology' is not UFO tech, it's existed for a long time and AH-64's have it. Please remove this god awful glare. Track file not included.3 points

As a low time private pilot that lost his medical years ago, I've been itching to get behind the stick one last time. A "Fini" Flight as we called it in the Air Force. Flying a helicopter had always been a bucket list item for me as well, so I decided to combine the two. After all I learned to fly a UH-1 in DCS and have more than a few hours in it. I had no misconceptions that my DCS Huey experience qualified me for the R-44 but I was curious how it would play in real life. Thought I share a few impressions for those that might be interested. First and foremost a HUGE shoutout to Dallas from Helicopters Northwest in Seattle. (In which I am in no way affiliated) As our Instructor she did an excellent job of making us not dead. OK, impressions in no particular order: This aircraft was very clean. I was an aircraft mechanic for 35 years and rarely, if ever have I seen an engine/accessory compartment so spotless. The anti torque pedals don't self center like my Thrustmaster pendulars. I never quite adjusted to that. No trimmer! In my Huey the trimmer is life, not so with the Robinson. In my 30 minutes of stick time I never felt the need to trim the aircraft as I changed altitudes and airspeeds. I recently added a 4" extension to my warthog stick, and while it made sim flying easier, the feel and geometry of the R-44 "top down" cyclic was quite different. This is something I think I could adjust to fairly quickly though. Turbulence was a factor. In DCS my UH-1 weighs in at a couple of tons and I generally fly with weather off. Spoiled me rotten. The R-44 is a little 'ol thing and as we were flying off of the several square miles of tarmac that is Boeing Field the thermals bounced us around a bit. (23 c on the ground) Dallas gave great advise here, telling me to just let the helicopter fly thru the bumps and not try to correct for every bounce. My closing thoughts: Could I have taken the R-44 off? I'll give myself a maybe here. Could I have hovered the R-44? GAWDS NO! Could I have flown the R-44 from Point A to B? I can honestly say yes here. Once in the air it is pretty much point and shoot. Could I have landed the R-44? Please expand upon your use of the word "landed." Could they have reused the R-44? See above question/response. This was not inexpensive but for a life experience/bucket list item it was worth it. Lastly I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my young friend Anneliese who came along as my photographer...Imagine, this was her first time in a helicopter and she had me as a pilot! YOU ROCK GIRL!3 points

Yeah, unfortunately the map is considered feature complete AFAIK. Personally they should've stuck with the Straits of Hormuz name (which is what it was called originally) as that's a more accurate name for the area actually depicted.3 points

Oh ok, understand. You can find almost any commercial ship at the Fleetmon link below along with photos. VesselFinder is also a good one. My plan is to recreate the CMA CGM Benjamin Franklin. Also, Ever Given is coming as well. https://www.fleetmon.com/vessels/cma-cgm-vasco-de-gama_9706889_9870076/photos/2034745/ https://www.vesselfinder.com/ship-photos/9667733 points

Thanks, HawaiianRyan for providing the tools for others. HighMaintenanceB the CMA and the EVER are very low Poly models so you probably won't get much out of them with regards to making them look better. They were easy to create so I put them out there for you all to use. They were actually online. Also, I'm the only person creating the models. Thanks for your effort in creating the liveries. I'm sure others will enjoy it. I didn't know you were an artist as well. I may look to you for assistance in the future. I will be shifting gears on the next project.3 points

It does, but the installer now gives you the choice of installing none of them.3 points

Also, I've made liveries for every Evergreen A-class ship and Jacques Saade-class ship. I'll soon start working on the Madrid Maersk subclass of Maersk Triple E ships - there are 11 ships in that class including Madrid Maersk. This is what I do in my free time (aside from flying in DCS). Don't laugh plz3 points

Honestly they really need to do the teen-A's at somepoint. Using a half neutered but not really -C version for 80's stuff is just pure cringe in MP, and the "blue" guys don't really help, always whining for more "capabilities". The Muh TGP crowd is the worst of em... Sorry kiddo, learn a new trick or two. And ultimately your comment about no one to fight is exactly why the 70's era will literally end up being the best era in DCS. Its filled with a ton of variety of planes, some older, some newer and making the transition to "modern" stuff as we consider it, but still quirky enough for not everything. I mean you still will have 60's or even 50's era planes since they were still in use, and then the "new" hotness of the 70's planes like the Mirage F1 or mig23 etc, or even appropriately modeled things like the early F14's. But the most important reason will be that "balance" more or less existed naturally in that environment up to about the early 80's.3 points

First of all isn't Grim Reapers a Squadron of players. I think more than one person post under the GR moniker. That being said, some of the videos are hit and miss but it's not their fault. Its changes, seemingly unnecessary, made by the developers that cause frustration and confusion. I think they do their best to try and keep the videos updated but sometimes it may be too much. I tend to agree with you, to deny the obvious, whether you like them or not, is being deliberately obtuse.3 points
-
Yes, I agree ... but it should then be clearly stated on the Free to Trial rules, that it is not compatible with the DCS Off-line mode, to prevent this kind of issues: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/support/faq/discount/?sphrase_id=24478328#33170313 points

Agree with Zius and some1, Razbam fumbled with doing the MiG-19P instead of the much more common 19S (which could have been used also as the widely exported J-6) The plain MiG-17F is perfect for many scenarios and the additional pylons are something that many nations, that couldn't get better fighter-bombers, added to their 17s. The Egyptian rockets are also fine given we are getting a Sinai map... Now we only need an early Mirage III for those guns-only six-day war dogfights3 points

I've only been there once and it was 30 years ago but I was sure I knew where Bahrain was located. Am I crazy or is it completely left off of the map? I understand it not being populated, but I don't even see the topography. Is there a reason its not on the map?2 points

I'm thinking the OP's point is that the island of Bahrain is not shown. The attached picture shows where is should be with the red circle.2 points

Ok , the no sound problems was caused by Bronco and UH-60 mods, i apply your solution and all is fine now. Many thanks2 points

Yes, it would be even better, i just proposed different flag to minimise ED work, just a different texture over the flag for earlier scenarios.2 points

I agree (and the F/A-18A could include a CF-188, so easy sell to me). The 1970s should be pretty great (lots of analogue dials, a bit less switchology, unreliable missiles...) I'm really looking forward to the Mig-23, Su-17, F-8, Kfir etc.2 points

Well, it seems somehow there were some folders duplicated and things were probably conflicting. Right now, after some serious cleaning, it seems everything is working. Problem is, everytime it works at the beginning, and 4 days later it doesn't, but let's hope now it will do. Thanks @MAXsenna and @Morpheus for helping. Actually you gave me the hint to find the problem!2 points
-
Thanks for the tip, but I'd refrain from generalized comments like that. It runs buttery smooth on my low end laptop - albeit in 2D. But yeah, in a nutshell, complex missions will always be more taxing on your PC than simple ones, so keep this in mind when adjusting your settings.2 points
-
Hey, Guys I just noticed the CMA CGM Benjamin has liveries that don't appear correctly in-game. It's a simple fix that can be completed by you all. Open the Vasco and Zheng texture in Paint.net or whatever texture software you use then FLIP the photos VERTICALLY. Once back in DCS, they will appear correctly. SIMPLE FIX! Thanks.2 points

What a cool mod, that's the quality! The sound of radars acts on the ears as real, annoying, but it is very realistic Some ideas for 1.0.1: - 50N6 rotates too fast, I know that some of videos used as references were intentionally speeded up by the editors. But there are other videos too, showing slower rate - 96L6 should rotate clockwise and should have a slight inclination towards the sky (3-5 degrees)2 points

PF was only a stopgap interceptror until better and more suitable aircraft were developed. Intended to find enemy bombers at night, and not much else. F and its derivatives were the workhorse variant of many armies around the world for many years. And we're getting SRD1 gun radar, that's enough for Dcs combat scenarios.2 points

I don't know if this was posted before. But the narrator for this I believe is General Dynamics F-16 test/program pilot Neil Anderson. While the jet is not a Block 50, Anderson none the less talks about 9G's and the duration the pilot could possibly be experiencing them in a turn.2 points
