1st mod release is done, DL link is my 1st post. Today's version 0.0.2 beta contains only -300 variant and its liveries. -200 variant will come later. Additional livery works need panel lines + normal map + window arrangement tasks before.8 points

Hey @Fisherman82 We added the apron to help with AI functionality because planes were running into some trouble without it They’d sometimes face pathing issues, causing traffic jams on the airfield where nothing could take off, or even run out of fuel while taxiing from the farthest parking spot to the runway. To fix this, we wanted to create a solution that didn’t take away too many parking spots. The apron was designed to make things run smoother while keeping the airfield intact. Fingers crossed! @tobi @Eight Ball Is it theoretically possible to animate the soldiers getting on/off the chopper (even if the W&B remains unchanged)? Or is this just not something DCS would allow at this point? Just thinking how amazing it would be if we could actually come and extract a bunch of Delta Force guys from a hotspot somewhere. DCS is just crying out for some better infantry mechanics for something like this! Obviously that's on ED to improve. Either way this looks absolutely fantastic! I'm on 100 hours of OH-6 flight time already!3 points

Naja, gibt im early access simulator nicht allzu viel, das nicht early access ist Man möge ja dazu stehen wie man will, aber gefallen muss einem die heutige software branche und welche Produkte man für nicht wenig Geld auf den Markt bringt, nicht mehr. Klar muss man es nicht kaufen, aber man hat eben auch 0 Garantie, dass die Entwickler es irgendwann auf Schiene bringen (Stichwort F15E). MSF24, LMU,etc... ist ohnehin mittlerweile leider gängige Praxis bei den Software Entwicklern..3 points

От части да, но при всем Вашем негативе, они занимают свою нишу, и вполне оперативно могут доставлять свои пакеты наров туда, где это в данный момент необходимо, и нет другой поддержки, с минимальными потерями. При этом эффективность далеко не нулевая, и главное летчики массово получают боевой опыт. Ну а звания и медальки, кудаж без них, карьеристы всегда были, есть и будут, но это не большой процент от общего числа. Главное техника летает, пилоты учатся, наземные службы тоже при деле.3 points

the F-5E Wingtips Mod will be discontinued and replaced with "F-5E Expansion" module, which will be 100% saved games install, as discussed above/previously, with more items (Antennas, AAR Probe, weapons modifications, etc etc.) The main issue w/ the new F-5E Remaster Module, is the Internal/External Models are protected. The first release will be for the original F-5E Module, and later the F-5E Remastered as a Separate Version, as it will require significant adjustments, as the External 3D Models are no where near the same, the addon meshes don't sit properly on the new model, plus I need to clear anything regarding protected content with E.D. as well. My current free time is with higher priority projects, once those are in a stable condition, I will come back to this one. MiG-29A Fulcrum Development Progress The primary MiG-29A development efforts are focused on the design of the external model, cockpit, avionics, and general aircraft systems. The DCS: MiG-29A is our first aircraft based on photogrammetry. The cockpit reference aircraft is located in Aircraft Museum Kosice, and we greatly appreciate their generous assistance. The textures and geometry of the new cockpit have been created from scratch, using new technologies that include high-polygon models for baking-in normal maps. This technique has provided many quality improvements whilst also presenting plenty of challenges. We generated a huge number of photos and videos of the aircraft, and we completely reworked the external model. Based on this reference data and factory diagrams, we were able to include an exceptional level of detail for items such as surface materials and treatment, rivets, screws, and panel joints. The new normal map reflects the structure of the aircraft skin to a high degree of accuracy, with texture resolution increased by 400%. A lot of work has been completed on avionics and systems, including the Optical Laser System (OLS), which is an important component of the MiG-29 targeting suite. Its main elements are the InfraRed Search and Track (IRST) system and laser range finder. Most of the air-to-air targeting modes are progressing well and nearing completion. The gun sight development was not a trivial task, with a complex simulation of both the tracked-target mode and the non-tracked, “funnel” mode. The gun sights have been significantly redesigned for a highly accurate representation of the real unit. A new mode has been added which was designed to engage invisible aerial targets in cloud, haze or at night with the gun. Weapon modes for engaging ground targets with rockets and guns at fixed and moving targets in the presence of wind are in active development. We have also scheduled the development of the basic bombing modes in the near term. We have totally recreated the Fire Control Radar (FCR) architecture and the main modes. After primary work on the OLS and FCR is complete, we will model the interaction between the OLS and the FCR. The SPO-15LM radar warning receiver, also known as Product L006LM, has been completely rewritten. The new SPO-15 uses the same physics-based approach as the SPO-10, but with greater attention being paid to its second iteration of directivity patterns for transmitting and receiving antennas. The latter being of particularly high importance to Soviet RWR designs due to the independent processing of an output from each azimuth sector antenna. Additionally, the database has been expanded, with each radar having a unique signature in terms of signal properties and with the properties themselves covering additional details. Thanks to these improvements, the new SPO-15 can be modelled to closely emulate the algorithms used in the real system, and it simulates many of its real-life quirks and limitations. Pilots will find themselves having to pay attention to these limitations to utilize its full potential. These include, but are not limited to, non-linear range indications that will properly display the signal power, blinding by high power radars, and many cases of incorrect threat type determination due to limited resolution with which the signal parameters are measured. This depth and accuracy of the simulations will make our new implementation of SPO-15 in DCS the most realistic and detailed simulation of this system of any PC simulator. A Mission Editor data programming panel is being developed for the navigation system. This will allow you to program the flight before the start of the mission and use this program in flight. Access to the panel and modification of data will be possible during the simulation, when the aircraft is on the ground. We are developing the MiG-29A INS and its interaction with the navigation system. Special attention is being paid to the modes of ground INS alignment and its accuracy and drift in flight. This will be affected by the alignment mode and the presence or absence of radio correction from the programmed beacon. Work remains on the Identify Friend or Foe (IFF) system, but we'll release the core functionality of IFF at early access, and then continue to work on the more advanced IFF features. Aircraft systems are being added and refined to a deep level of functionality. This includes the new hydraulic and electrical system, procedures and physics of engine startup and shutdown, expansion and reconfiguration of automatic control systems. Numerous new modes are also being introduced, and transients are being improved. Merry Christmas Happy holidays! Unfortunately, such practices are prohibited. ED is quite strict about all forms of payment, especially paid "mods", in short you can't earn money on unofficial mods. The "donation" option is something else, but it means that the mod must be made available for free, but someone can support it according to their wishes. However, I agree with the fact that if Little Bird could be a paid add-on, then maybe they should reach an agreement with ED or some company, e.g. PC or Miletch and release it simply as a paid add-on. However, the price you propose would be too high.. Little Bird is a simple bird. So it can't cost as much or near as OH-58D or CH-47F (69). In this respect, it can be compared to UH-1, the regular price of which is less than $50. EA for $39 (with the asset) would be ideal, so. I wouldn't mind it, especially if it was modified with a full developer SDK, complete with animated and usable crew (and his M4!) .2 points

I cannot recommend to the community enough watching the following 2 Shawn Ryan episodes (broken up into 2) discussing the Blackhawk Down conflict with one of the Delta Operators. Hands down the best interview I have scene on the Army Special Warfare community and hell of a lot more gripping than the Movie. The second episode goes into Mogadishu. Worth a listen while you are able to listen, I promise you will get sucked in.2 points

i will make this short, unlike my Ka-50 list, 1. Bullet impacts on glass, when the glass gets shot, there is no visible damage to the inside 2. (most important to me) reduced load racks for Vkhrs, 2 and 4 and maybe even other options real Ka-52's use Vkhrs use reduced load racks (and this is possible for ED to do, see Ah-64) 3. functional windscreen wiper (like on the Mi-24 and Ah-64 4. improved Shkval optics adjustment the SOA rotator doesn't seem to do anything, i would love to see improvements made to the Skkval and to make the SOA rotator functional 5. pilot model, with working animated sun visor no image to show, its probably in the cards already. i have also made a similar list to this, though more detailed and in-depth for the Mi-242 points

Same here.. Been using Mod Managers for over 15 years. OpenModMan is the latest "Child" to Ovgme and written by the same Developer. I recently started trying the new SLAM YouTube Demonstration of SLAM. I like SLAM because it uses Symbolic Links, is fast and does not Move as much data around when compared to traditional Mod Managers. Good luck @Ghostrider1422 points

Seems to me that you are projecting your DCS use-case onto the whole community. It may be a surprise to some, but not everyone here is a competitive multiplayer gamer, there are some users who actually enjoy the simulation, and learning the in and outs of a new DCS aircraft and dont care if it is not an ultra modern aircraft .. I can even enjoy a Fw190 or a Sabre, dont need a super missile to be a happy Simmer.2 points

Given EDs huge developement backlog and the amount of stuff that was supposed to be out by now according to ED themselves (Vulkan 2024 anyone? GFM to come in 2022..etc etc ) I dont care much anymore for what they tease. I would go for more delivering and less teasing /hyping. And seriously prefer Nick Grey not doing the "passion and support" talk bit again .It is a bit tone-deaf and ill fitting by now.2 points

Remember, the carrier steams at around 20-25kts into the wind during launch and recovery. Growler Jams video: shows significantly better visibility even in a thunderstorm, with distinct tight beading of rain on the canopy while on deck. I can believe a sun damaged boat window or old Museum plane’s canopy may look like that after a time. But these fighters are serviced DAILY the canopy being clean and fresh is vital for flight. Between polishing, replacing, and rain repellent coatings, it should never look as bad as DCS shows. Hell most of the 172’s I’ve flown had pretty tight beading that didn’t destroy view ability like that.1 point

My system: Highly optimized Win 10, AMD 5800x3D, 4090, Reverb G2, Native OpenXR, almost maxed out DCS settings with FSR upscaled render resolution 3600x3600. Scene below is from F18 launch on Carrier in Persian Gulf Mission. Without Process Lasso: With Process Lasso: 'rdr CPU' seems responsible for VR frame rendering and is directly affected by scene complexity (like objects, clouds, etc..). A lower 'rdr CPU' will result in a lower 'app GPU'. DCS MT highly optimized 'app CPU', now 'rdr CPU' can have a relatively higher impact. You really want both CPU frame times combined to remain below 20ms to not start rendering at 30 fps and create mild stutters when switching between 45 and 30 fps. By dedicating cores in Process Lasso (forcing affinity) for DCS.exe and all other processes separately, you are also separating 'app CPU' and 'rdr CPU' execution. In short: STEP 1: First start DCS in VR. Select All Processes in Process lasso: Set affinity, Always, and select the last or first 4 threads of your if you have an 8 core/16 thread or more CPU. If you have fewer cores, maybe assign only 2 threads. (if applicable, only select Intel Performance Cores or cores on the AMD X3D CCD) STEP 2: Then select DCS.exe, Set affinity, Always, and select the other threads (invert selection) (if applicable, only select Intel Performance Cores or cores on the AMD X3D CCD): IMPORTANT!!!! Do not skip STEP 1, It is crucial to separate DCS.exe from other processes, only setting Affinity for DCS does not work. All other processes should be running on different cores than DCS.exe! This is tested only with OpenXR. I have not tested this with steamVR. Intel CPU users below report different results. So try and make sure you test. Do not worry about excluding system processes, when setting affinity: if it is not possible to change affinity, nothing happens. I also forced 'Always - high priority' on DCS.exe. Enable performance mode in Process Lasso. I always manually start Process Lasso before I start DCS: I do not want Process Lasso to be enabled during startup and interfere with normal usage. This config is only recommended with VR. This also works with other Simulators and games in VR. Disable 'Game Bar' - as it easily conflicts with Process Lasso settings. Always test and validate these settings yourselves. Easy way to validate frame times yourself: Choose a stable, non-moving, scene (while being parked) in the external view (with loads of objects) that has high but relatively stable 'rdr CPU' frame times. Screenshot before and after enabling Process Lasso, making sure you have the exact same view angle in VR. Make it easy by enabling screenshots in the OpenXR toolkit companion app, enable the Advanced OpenXR FPS counter, and select CTRL + F12 to create a screenshot create before and after with the exact same view in VR. Wait for frame times to stabilize before comparing/screenshotting 'rdr CPU' and 'app GPU' values.1 point
