I plan to release v2.0 later today. I tried to get Tempest's wind mod working but it appears ED has locked that down because nothing I tried will decouple the ground wind layer from 1600ft wind layer. His mod will decouple the layers in the mission editor but it doesn't have any effect in game. 20 knots ground wind still results in 40 knots at 1600ft. That being said, I did make some nice improvements to this latest generation of cirrus clouds. I replaced a few textures with new ones and made some improvements to others. Shadows are looking much better now also. Overall I think these are the best looking cirrus yet. I also increased the fog visibility range in the mission editor. You can use that to create a nice hazy atmosphere look.11 points

I don't want to go into every exact detail but I have been fortunate to gain real world flight time in four warbirds since 2013. Twice, under unusual insurance conditions, I have flown real F4U-Ds (once in 2022 for 1.3 hours and once in 2024 for 1.5 hours {Obviously, I am not the owner of said Corsair.}). I can easily and definitively say that the F4U-D as it presents in DCS as of Sept of 2025 is not very close with respect to the flight model for a real F4U-D. Major differences include: 1 - The real F4U-D is nowhere, ... and nohow, ... as twitchy as the Magnitude 3 version. All the axes are more stable but most notably, pitch. 2 - While you do have to trim regularly in a real F4U-D, it is not the Tamagotchi situation that presently occurs with the DCS version. 3 - The well known left wing drop is not as bad in the real F4U-D. 3 - I can easily say that the real F4U-D is much faster, ... and subjectively much faster feeling, ... than the DCS version. (It's a f ........ throaty beast, ... and not just subjectively.) 4 - The 13 foot prop is much louder and throatier than the affair in DCS. 5 - While careful attention to engine management is crucial to success in the real F4U-D, the unusual engine seizures and characteristics currently of the DCS version are not correct. Now, I don't mean to drop a turd in the punchbowl and then run for the exits but I am not even a participating member of this forum (by my own choice). I just had not seen any comments from real warbird pilots and wanted to make a contribution. Lastly, I want to say that I am appreciative of Magnitude and time they have spent on this model. I know things will be fine tuned in the months and years ahead. Thanks for your work Magnitude!8 points

UPDATE v1.1 Hello guys, new update is up. The cockpit model was redone — most parts rebuilt from the ground up and retextured. The exterior also got some fixes: corrected damage model (no more parts showing when they shouldn’t after damage), added bort number on the front landing gear, boarding ladder, and intake covers for parked/static aircraft.Flight model was adjusted to remove the unrealistic supercruise. Smaller tweaks include engine sound update. Unfortunately for now fabric cover doesn't work as it should on parked (not static) aircraft with open canopy clipping through it, so it was removed until it could be added properly in the future.8 points

The insinuation that the maps are inadequate isn't a reasonable thing to say. As mentioned, I bought the NTTR map seven-years ago and have enjoyed it very much. I still use it often. Now while it might look dated in comparison to a map that came out this year, you have to remember it's also seven or eight-years old. And it still works as well as the day I bought it. Not everything is all new and shiny, though we might want it to be, but that doesn't mean it's inadequate. It just means it's an older map. I have all the maps and I fly them all and enjoy them all, even if they aren't all of equal "fanciness". And there is such variety and quality in the maps now that no one should feel left out given the offerings. I'd love to see the NTTR map get some serious love, and I'd be happy to pay for it. But in no way do I see the map as inadequate.4 points

For us the biggest issue is that if you are performing external awacs duties via lotatc, there is no way to interact with people on voice chat without having dcs running.3 points

Just been playing with various settings. I was able to reduce the “swirls” by selecting the custom DFR option and increasing the central image to 50% V@H, which is counter productive in that a performance hit has to be taken. Sadly I am disappointed with this update as the swirls were a distraction and a big let down. I have disabled Pimax QV and Reinstalled QVFR AND QVC on top of the most recent patch but do use the Pimax Sharpening set to 0.8. The result is the image is as clean and sharp as I have seen to date at 72 FPS. I did not notice stuttering over Afghanistan but need to do more testing on other maps. HTH2 points

Hi everyone, I just wanted to post a quick update. I've been taking a break from working on this mod for the last few months, playing other games and doing some things IRL. I'll be diving back into it soon for the Su-25 and push towards a 1.0 release, and wanted to provide a bit of a timeline for that: Roadmap 2025 Sept/Oct: v0.5 Su-25 Basic Support v1.0 Animate all major clickable elements (gear levers, canopy click points, etc) to accurately follow the cockpit model Update Su-25 to work with new version, when ED releases it Late 2025-2026 v1.1 Look into animating visible switches and knobs in FC cockpits -- Many currently have animation, but do not use it General bugfixing and compatibility updates as needed In the meantime, if you're itching to fly the Su-25 the original CLICKABLE-FC3 mod should still work fine2 points

Yep, completely agreed - the P-12/18 are already the more appropriate acquisition radars for the SA-2 and, as VHF radars, would likely not provide warning of their presence to our RWRs, nor would they be targetable by current western ARMs. The P-37 (alongside the PRV-11 and DRL-7) already has an appropriate model, in the right format, that's animated and has a destroyed variant to boot, something that's existed for over a decade at this point. I really do not understand why it hasn't been implemented as a functional EWR considering just how prolific it is and how it would be a far more suitable stand in for P-14 for the SA-5. The P-40 (or rather the 1RL128, P-40 is the entire complex) if we had IADS capability, would do wonders for the various PVO-SV system we have and the model is almost identical to the 1S12 used in the SA-4.2 points

The only 9.12A Warsaw pact export variant in inventory of Serbian Air Force and Air Defense. Donated in 2017 and was one of the last operational MiG-29A in Europe, if not the last. Short lived, btw. For me it was a double bind of the Salute action. When the pilot model is doing the the salute animation, control input is temporarily blocked.2 points

I paid 5 EUR less on DCS standalone. Always buy first hand. Standalone gives you miles program. For example: when you pre-order mig-29A with price 55.99USD you will get 5.59 USD worth of discount for any other purchase. Updates are received before Steam, better discounts, a bit cheaper modules. Nothing is better on Steam, speaking of DCS.2 points

Some of the discount is already included in the price. The steam price should match the store price as close as possible which is US dollars. Some conversion prices seem a little off and we have raised the concern with the team.2 points

Aside of the your proposal it would be interesting to have also P-12, P-18, P-15, P-35/37, P-40 as more mobile variants which were used in combination with different SAMs. Between different SAM sites (e.g. SA-2, SA-3, SA-6, SA-5), some of these EWR radars were interchangeable elements when attached directly to the batteries. Another interesting topic is that better coverage and resilience toward the ECM could be achieved by connecting two different radars (e.g. P-15 and P-18) to the same battery at the same time. In this case the rotation of antenna's were synchronized and picture displayed on the same circular situation display (SNR-125 - SA-3). One such combination was documented to be used by Finland. Furthermore they could have been integrated in IADS as part of larger network, and this way were able to reduce the reaction time of many systems. E.g. SA-3 acquisition of target for SNR-125 could be fed from such system, the elevation/azimuth were slaved, so the operator could lock the target way faster when using normal stand-alone workflow. I assume that benefits only extended to the more advanced SAMs.2 points

This is very dependent of your setup, I have a Virpil with a Rhino FFB base with 20cm extension and it does not feel twitchy at all, feels pretty good. Agree the engine model is too fragile, I don't want unrealistic indestructible motor, but something more realistic. Also a real warbird pilot (have not flown the Corsair though)2 points

Когда его мало, сложно кайфовать 20 минут, ожидая полной выставки инерциалок и т.п. Особенно после того, как в сетевой игре стало можно добавлять слоты с горячим стартом. В игре нет промежуточного варианта, близкого к жизни, когда ИТС предоставляет экипажу (пилоту) самолёт с подключенным электропитанием и уже выполненными выставками и проверками большей части оборудования. Мы сейчас получаем холодный старт в варианте, когда пилот пришел на самолёт, с которым техники ничего не делали, но которые могут в мгновение ока подвесить оружие, которое на самом деле долго вешается, или прикрутить надвтулочный радар Апачи прямо над вращающимся несущим винтом и т.д. Плюс сезонные особенности эксплуатации конкретных типов, увеличивающие время процедур. Поэтому будем играть с подходящей нам индивидуальной подробностью все равно, ибо без компромиссов не обойтись пока.2 points

This looks great and I will buy it, but I also want you to know that I am also yelling at you for not remaking the Fleet Defender campaigns that took place on the Kola Peninsula map. I am trying my hand at doing it, and I am NOT happy with the result...It's quite clear to me that I am NOT cut out to be a mission builder or campaign maker...2 points

I only just discovered this yesterday while watching a large tank battle I'd set up. A tank gets destroyed and the rest in the column just drive right through it. Two opposing enemy columns pass each other on a bridge going opposite directions while fighting ... and pass right through each other. I realize this is a flight sim, but seriously. WTAF. I don't wanna hear "it's too hard" because simulations -- including flight sims -- have been able to deal with this fine for decades. This behavior destroys legit common tactics. Something I learned from Jane's AH-64D Longbow was to first take out the lead and rear vehicles in an advancing column. This traps the rest of the vehicles between them and they become easy to pick off. Not with THIS vehicle behavior. Taking out vehicles on a bridge or intersection to clog it up. Not with this behavior. The deeper I learn about some things in DCS the more disappointed and frustrated I get. Over a decade in development and THIS is still the vehicle behavior? How many more years will it take to correct this? This seriously destroys tactically using weapons in many circumstances. I can't believe it's like this, I was stunned to a gaping mouth when I saw it happening. Very disappointed.1 point

I disagree, if you look at the DCS shot there, you can barely tell there's an IR signature there. Now minimize the picture to what you would see in VR or at a normal zoom level in 2d - you´ve got yourself a nearly useless image, you can´t even tell the number of blobs there, let alone that they are tank1 point

I am sorry we can not share news at the moment, all I can say is it just requires a little more work and the teams are busy currently. But I hope you still enjoy your flights in DCS and the A-10C I would hate to think that all the work we have done for this aircraft in DCS over the years has resulted in nothing for you. best regards Bignewy1 point

hello this is likely a problem with your ISP or your own network equipment. it is not a system wide issue with DCS updates. the VPN cleans up DNS issues. it probably means your locally provided DNS is not the best. no offense. it happens to many users from all over. too many to count. i suggest you post your latest autoupdate_log.txt found in the DCS install folder. also test using ping and nslookup of cdn.digitalcombatsimulator.com try disabling your antivirus and firewall, checking your Windows hosts file for any incorrect entries, ensuring your computer's date, time, and time zone are correct.1 point

Hello to developpers and community. I would like to know if we can expect an update whic allow to dissociate mouse pointer from head movement in VR. I confirm this issue is very annoying!! It is hard to accurately click in cockpit. Even a small head movement disturb mouse pointer position with a VR headset... Hope a patch or option will come for this wonderful flight simulator Have a nice day and happy flying from France!!!1 point
