How do I see the debriefs?
baltic_dragon replied to Hyperlynx's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
I think it is mentioned in the intro mission, but additional reminder wouldn't hurt, you're right. -
Mission 03 broken, -02 does not attack with guns.
baltic_dragon replied to Hyperlynx's topic in Bugs & Problems
Glad to hear that. Hope there won't be any more hiccups as you move on! -
Thanks for your feedback, nikoel. As for the pop-up: I never use the kneeboard on the screen, as in VR I find it much more immersive to just look a the one on pilot's body leg - plus I am using Open Kneeboard app which is a game-changer in VR and helps a lot with keeping track of things, especially the comms, as it shows you whole comms history which also addresses another concern you voiced regarding the time coordinates stay on screen (see next paragraph). In any case I never had any complaints about it from over 20 people testing the campaign nor those playing it later on and changing it at this stage would require going through each trigger having pop-ups in each mission and changing their position, so I'll keep them where they are here - but keep that in mind for my future projects. The pop-ups can just show up on the left without any trouble. On that note, that is why I added option for you to ask for the coordinates to be repeated indefinite number of times, which is much much more cumbersome in terms of implementing it in the mission than simple pop-up message, but I find it much more immersive and realistic. And you can always just open the message history from the menu and take it from there. As for the commands, again I am for realism here - so both ways are OK (push 8 on left or push Chainsaw on Aux) and I mix them on purpose to give players more to do in the campaigns. Majority of the people who buy my campaigns appreciate it but I am aware that it is impossible to match the tastes of everybody and I accept that. As for the kneeboard pages, I never had major issues, even when using them in-game and looking at the pages directly on pilot's leg, which is much smaller than the one you can open on the right side of the screen. I am aware of issues with several maps that may not be very readable that way and perhaps some DRYAD pages, I'll see what I can do about those. As for the A2A option at the end.. something I will look into again, but this adds a huge layer of potential bugs and problems, as AAR especially as wingman in DCS is quite often bugged (then fixed again, then bugged... becoming a vicious circle). And the AI habits and flying patterns you mentioned are also a huge headache.. but I'll see what I can do, though I cannot promise anything. Finally, yeah - the volume. I'll tone that down, true that it may be too loud. Thanks for that point. In any case, hope you enjoy the rest and let me know if you have further comments.

Thanks @Dave317, I think I fixed all of them, they should be firmly attached to the ground as of next update!

Hey, here's the breakdown of the scoring system: Mission start: 50 APC destroyed with Maverick: 15 or APC destroyed with GBU 10 Tank destroyed: 10 Second Tank destroyed 10 Trucks destroyed 10 Landing 5

M01 Stuck progression issue?

Thanks. Don't want to put too much in mission designers, but I could probably add a note during the intercept. -
Mission 1 feedback (spoilers)
baltic_dragon replied to Dovivan's topic in F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign
Up to you of course, just don't say I didn't warn you -
Or just taxi slower, I can only tell them to turn on their engines when you as a player are ready to taxi. It then takes around 90 seconds for them to start taxiing (but if you don't move, they will taxi ahead of you). Not much I can do about it, so you have to be flexible!

Mission 10 supercarrier bug
baltic_dragon replied to grenshep's topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
@chamol thanks.. then I guess we are back to the likely issue with 3rd party unofficial mods etc.. do you have any unofficial mods for aircraft installed, or things like SRS radio? These all tend to break the DLC campaigns for some reason... Some great advice from Jakes below that helped a lot of players: The No.1 Rule with DCS Campaigns... If you have ANY mod that is NOT purchased from the DCS Store, it will probably cause issues. SRS and OpenKneeboard(Mostly VR users) seem to be ok, as we test these mission using both. Make sure to remove any and all mods before flying campaigns. (Check out OVGME, I use it daily and it works well) If you have no mods, or if removing all mods still does not fix the issue, take the following steps(Test after each step): 1) Delete fxo and metashaders folders in you saved games. Can get gummed up with old files. 2) Rename you DCS Saved Games folder, run DCS and let it create a new one. Close DCS and then just copy the Config folder from the old to the new so you don't lose your bindings at least. (Some mods can write to places like your scripts folder in your saved games location as an example. Also seems to help sometimes even if you never run mods at all) 3) Do a full deep repair of DCS to clear up any unwanted stuff in your main game folder. Some settings to check: 1) If you have easy comms enabled, disable it. 2) Under Gameplay otions, make sure the tick box on the bottom right for "No force from mission, use min" is NOT ticked. 3) Try disabling TacView under special options. It can cause issues, usually performance, but that can lead to bugs if your cores are overloaded/too busy and it misses a trigger point due to that. A side note, some mods can write to places like your scripts folder in your saved games location (as an example). Mission 10 supercarrier bug
baltic_dragon replied to grenshep's topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
We'll check that. The taxi directors are still work in progress, and the Tomcat is causing a lot of trouble from what I've seen... -
Just finished DF!! What a great campaign!
baltic_dragon replied to Sulfa's topic in F/A-18C Raven One: Dominant Fury campaign
Thanks @jmarso - I think you hit the nail on the head with this review, especially considering the whole DCS environment.. though I guess there is nothing we can do about it just adapt and try to make things as simple as possible. After Dominant Fury I promised never to do such a big mission as M14 (or some others) as they are very prone to getting broken by updates, 3rd party mods etc - and that is perhaps why Arctic Thunder is faring so much better because I tried to avoid such scenarios at all costs, DCS is just not ready for it... I am now working with Kevin Miller and Jell-O on a Raven One training campaign, which should be fun and not as sterile as all standard training missions included with the modules and using the real life procedures (plus characters from the novel!). -
Changing load outs is a big NO-NO and will almost certainly break the campaign. As for the -2 not engaging, I've posted a long reply under the one which you quoted, please have a look if it helps. 95% of bugs or issues so far that people reported (apart from Syria map update that literally made all the missions stop working) were in the end on the user's side, most often caused by 3rd party unofficial mods, but also unfortunately TacView, SRS etc...

Mission 03 broken, -02 does not attack with guns.
baltic_dragon replied to Hyperlynx's topic in Bugs & Problems
Hey. We checked and everything works well there, must be a one-time glitch (possibly with wrong truck destroyed in the beginning making AI stupid). But could also be something on your end, including unofficial third party mods (they tend to break missions quite often - any aircraft like F-22, Superhornet etc). Let me know if it happens again, and just in case have a look at this instructions: The No.1 Rule with DCS Campaigns... Did you get the whole part with landing gear problem?
-
@pbt31 Weasel 32 not doing their tasks is a bug and it is likely caused by some unofficial mods or other 3rd party stuff that interferes with the AI somehow (don't ask me why). We tested the mission and it worked fine for me and two of my beta-testers who know it inside-out... Please follow the steps below just in case: The No.1 Rule with DCS Campaigns... How do I see the debriefs?
baltic_dragon replied to Hyperlynx's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
Just open the normal briefing screen from options (either pressing ESCAPE and choosing "BRIEFING" or by using the keyboard shortcut). It should be there after you see the mission complete message. -
Bug bombing in Mission 7 or it's me ?
baltic_dragon replied to pbt31's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
With M07 - I have no idea what happens and I can't find a fix for that no matter what I do. Though the important part is that the mission progresses and the attack is just a prelude to something else. Now two general notes about the TacView: for scripted campaigns I would advise against using it too much. First of all, it is known to mess up the AI system and some triggers, I had numerous reports of mission not progressing with TacView ticked ON in options and working normally without it for some people. Secondly, in scripted campaigns and due to immense AI stupidity sometimes we as mission makers have to use different tricks, like despawning units and spawning new ones, making some invulnerable or exploding others just in case AI misses etc. So if you start analyzing what happened you are likely to find inconsistencies that in fact are there to make the mission playable / enjoyable and in line with the storyline... so just my 2 cents on that. Coming back to the M7 target - a known bug that I cannot fix and am not even sure why it happens as everything is set up properly, so don't worry. As for the tank in M8 - are you sure it was your target? Maybe it wasn't and was set to invulnerable for some reason... see above -
Mission 10 shenanigans [video]
baltic_dragon replied to Choffix's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
Thanks @Choffix for your insights and @Jack Chief I hear you and understand your frustration. The real problem I think is that the MANPADs became much more deadly since the time when I was building this mission (and a lot of people confirm that, it is almost impossible to dodge them now, I think if they were that lethal in real life, there wouldn't be any aircraft left in some conflicts). Now, in the briefing you get the information that in the first minute or two of the mission you can turn on the invulnerability for your aircraft if you're having trouble completing this mission (added later on when I realized how deadly MANPADS were) - it is always an option to make the mission more enjoyable. Or have you decided not to use it as it could be considered as "cheating"? Finally - looking at the general situation during the OIR, there was very little danger in all the missions from the enemy, because they simply didn't have means to harm coalition aircraft. We wanted to add some thrill to avoid being accused of producing a "boring campaign" - and in fact, combat of that kind is just that, boring for 95% of the time and even when you have the enemy in sights going through procedures, getting attack clearances etc took a LONG time.. but then again, some people accused me of not having enough air to air there, where in real life there were only a handful of any incidents of the kind. Still: what we really miss is some kind of a save game feature in DCS. Hope you'll be able to get through this one and enjoy the rest of the campaign! -
Stuck in the middle of mission 3
baltic_dragon replied to pbt31's topic in DCS: F-16C The Gamblers Campaign
Some people experience problems with this one exactly in this spot, while for most it works OK and I cannot figure out what is wrong with (all the triggers in ME are set up correctly, safeguards are in place etc). Did you use the GBU-12 during the run on the trucks or on the AAA @Deadbeat? -
What @rob10 says.. briefing is the key. Unfortunately in the scripted campaigns there is only so many things we as mission creators can do or rely on to detect what the player's actions are - and therefore it is crucial to follow the flight plan etc. etc. Also, keeping the procedures - engaging only when you are cleared hot (by JTAC, Chainsaw, flight lead - but someone has to do that!) etc. There is no shame in flying the same mission twice, on the second run it is much more enjoyable (I found it even flying my own campaigns, not to mention missions from some other good 3rd party devs)

M 03 advancement issue (not really a bug)
baltic_dragon replied to Mike_CK's topic in F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign
I'm trying to envisage as many possible events as possible, but with a scripted campaign it is not doable to have all areas covered. One idea would be to just give an option via F10 to always say "need to abort", then RTB and land, which would cause the campaign to progress. Though honestly - having some save game feature in DCS would be absolutely fantastic. -
Mission 9 (possible spoiler alert)
baltic_dragon replied to Critter's topic in F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign
Haha, I put the credits there to make the long part of the flight more interesting, don't think anyone would want to sit in the pit and watch them after landing. And there still is one mission to go after that! I really like Kola, so I'll be doing something there in the future for sure, but for the moment I am busy with a training campaign for the Hornet and am about to release a very interesting one that wasn't made by me, but I participated in the creation and quality control process. Besides, have you flown two Raven One Hornet campaigns, @Critter? -

Mission 9 (possible spoiler alert)
baltic_dragon replied to Critter's topic in F/A-18C Arctic Thunder Campaign
Yes, you always have to land in each mission to progress.. kind of as in real life
