Can not enable AA, AF or V-sync for my GTX 295
BTTW-DratsaB replied to jermin's topic in Bugs and Problems
O..M..G This has been doing my (and many, many other people's) head in for a couple of months now. Thank you, thank you, thank you, your fix worked like a charm , STOOOPID nividia:chair: -
There was some thing about full screen and affinity with this mod, did you ever figure this out?

Impressive :) Seems bf1942 wasn't so unrealistic after all :D

Can not enable AA, AF or V-sync for my GTX 295
BTTW-DratsaB replied to jermin's topic in Bugs and Problems
There is a bug in 190.38 that is affecting the forced application of AA and AF in profiles in many games. Turn off in game AA for Arma2 and try to force it to see if the same thing happens. To fix it, you can try forcing your settings Globally rather than in the profile, I have had some success with this. Alternatively you can get 186.18 driver until they fix the problem. *Some people are reporting that this issue is caused by Nhancer. However, I have tried uninstalling nHancer and then reinstalling 190.38 and still had the same problem. Although I do think nHancer needs an update to properly deal with the new Nvidia options in the profiles. -
Make sure you have the main TIR window minimized to the system tray. Especially make sure the "Head", "Tracking" and "Gauges" Preview windows are not open in the background. Other than that not sure what it could be.

Thanks! great test cards and mod :)

Have you tried using the "trap" option in the profile/hotkey settings?

I am a bit disappointed by the release, with it's wildly varying performance. But I am happy to let them work on it. They are good developers who are more in touch with the community than most (we are spoiled here and I never take it for granted :) ). Arma 1 ran very badly when it was first released but they did make significant improvements, hell they are still making a patch for #1 even though Arma2 is out. I have been a fan of BIS since ofp and their games have way more scope than anything else out there, nothing has even come close in all those years. Considering how big the island is (compared to any other game) and the amount of possibilities for the AI, I think they do pretty good. The Ofp/Arma series is an extremely ambitious project. I think one of the main problems is peoples expectations of graphics. A massive gaming area with endless posibilities for missions and expecting the GFX to be on par with every other 2008/9 FPS game out there is not very realisitic, I think that really shows with Arma1/2, at there initial release time anyway.

Now we will be able to flex the muscles of our SLI systems :), great news.

Arrrg,:crash: I was having this exact same problem after setting up my FFB G25 racing wheel to use for rudder pedals with my x52. Was driving me mad 'till I found this. Thanks!:cheer3nc:

Thanks for the news Wags, I really appreciate the updates, even if it does contain news of delays or whatever (not that long anyway), it's nice to be kept in the loop. So thanks again! 5- Lock On: Flaming Cliffs. As mentioned in the last update, we are working on a further evolution of this product line. However, until the software is essentially done, we will not be discussing this in any detail. Sorry. Obviously they cant discuss it in any further detail :), but for speculation's sake what is the "software" they are eluding to? Is this the FC patch or some other thing relating to DCS and FC maybe? Like I say, speculation :D

I actually broke the steering wheel its self. I think it was a weak point in my particular wheel tbh, I have never heard of anyone having the same issue. The steering wheel and pedals are very chunky, heavy with lots of metal parts. Before my wheel broke, I would have said that shifter was the most likely thing to break, it is however still the best built joystick/controller I have ever owned. + I now have a spare G25 for if anything else brakes. Compare this to my x52 which was broken on arrival (I had to jiggle some wires in the throttle to get it to work) and the fact that it has that pretty much unfixable nasty feeling when using the stick and that after a few years of use my axis are not nearly as precise as they once where, I know which company (Satiek or Logitech) I would want to build my Hotas.

Well, I had a problem with my Logitech G25 steering wheel and they just sent me out a new one after I emailed them photos of the wheel and a copy of the invoice in PDF to verify purchase. Pretty damn good support. I think this G940 will be very good. If the Logitech G25 wheel is anything to go by, the build quality will be second to none. Having owned an X52 I can say that I was particularly unimpressed by how tacky it felt, I was expecting it to be more robust. And since day one I have had that horrible "grating" when making precise moves, due to the way the crappy spring and plate mechanism works. I could never understand why HOTAS makers would use a spring and plate like that, it feels horrible. Even without using the forcefeedback effects, the powered Return-to-Centre is far superior on a FFB stick. Ill start saving for this :joystick:

sshantt, pretty basic suggestion but have you got the "full screen" option checked under graphics options? The game still runs full screen when this is unticked but it really hurts performance.

The Ka50 does have this kind of graphical representation like IL2, sort of. Its a line that extends from the centre of the HUD when below a certain speed. Ill quote the manual for better explanation: Page 247 of Flight Manual 31. Velocity Vector. When airspeed is below 50 kph, a velocity vector line is drawn from the center of the Aircraft Datum. This line points in the direction that the aircraft is traveling and the length of the line represents the aircraft‟s relative speed. The line will be longest when the aircraft is traveling at 50 kph in any direction and shortest when the aircraft is at or near a hover. The Velocity Vector line is a useful tool when used in conjunction with the Hover Point Deviation Marker to hold a battle position. ^this is my main tool for achieving a steady hover

ahh that's a shame. Ill have to try this LoCFG. cheers

I think they are talking about Level Of Detail clipping, the way the buildings go transparent the further away from you they are. It can be changed by files as you say, not sure which ones though. I do know that Modman for Lockon allowed you to control these settings with a nice interface, I assume its the same for blackshark. You can get Modman 7.1 here : http://www.lockonfiles.com/ you will have to register, but its worth it - lots of nice downloads.

Thanks for the headsups about this documentary series Jim. I've watched ep1 and 2 so far, very interesting. Cheers:thumbup:

Precision slide shaking in properties
BTTW-DratsaB replied to LKNANML's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I have the 1st X52 and it has this exact same problem. Pressing the Clutch button (making the light flash) would make it happen also, like it is a voltage problem or some thing. The above suggestion should fix it though, it is a work around however as essentially you assign the top of the slider as the zoom in key and the bottom of it as the zoom out key, with a small bit in the centre acting as a dead zone. It would be nice to be able to use the zoom as an assigned axis within BS, it's much nicer to use that way, I find (well, before I got TrackIR). There may be a mod for the X52/pro that fixes this issue with the voltage. I had thought they might have fixed this problem as I think it was quite common in the normal X52 :noexpression: -
Yeah Flying heavy metal was a great series with Brucie. Not heard about this^ series though. Its called "Helicopter warfare"?

Mission assigned ALT & Autopilot
BTTW-DratsaB replied to FOXFIRE TWOONE's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark
Auto pilot (Route Mode switch on the Collective) only controls the steering of the craft, you will have to keep to pre-set mission attitudes and airspeeds manually. However, the Collective Brake and Altitude Hold modes do a good job of keeping Alt. The same can be said of the Trimmer with regards to airspeed.
