  1. It is not spitfire related, but it seems to be WW2 damage model related and has been reported en masse. No solution yet.

  4. I might be worth mentioning that I fly jets extensively (F-14 and F/A-18) and I NEVER (100%) - see this glitch in jet missions and I ALWAYS (100%) see this glitch in WW2 missions and it happens even in solo missions and gets WORSE the more combat/action there is in the mission.
  5. I can, but why? You have the mission yourself and can easily reproduce it it. Try telling your wingman to engage bandits in the "furball" missions and see what happens.
  6. What up Barthek: You still thinking about doing spring and autumn for this one? Just asking since 1; would love to have the 'whole set'. 2: You usually kick out season variants together with your main releases.
  7. I have not tested them all, but I have tested all Spitfire and several of the P-47 'furball' missions. In all I have seen, the AI does not respond to calls to attack enemies. I have seen this building missions myself: Sometime an extra waypoint is needed to "wake up" the AI before he starts doing what you tell him. As it is now, the wingmen in these missions are just trailing your tail as eye candy/cannon fodder.

  9. Runs smooth as butter for me now. Looks and performs very nice and will be even better with the coming Cyprus addon:)
  10. Yes, I am up to date. The sim runs super smooth and performance overall (for me) is great, but there are very noticable hiccups and stutter when flying WW2 dogfights and aircraft are getting shot. Seems slightly less than before, but still significant. One problem I had last patch was that flak turned the game into a slideshow is thankfully solved. Yet the flashes make the game almost unplayable. Example: Choose the Spitfire and do a quickstart "furball" mission against FW-190's. After a few minutes it turns into a stuttery epileptic nightmare.
  11. Stutters still very much present. Flashes as well. Normandy and Channel. No mods. Only WW2 (damage model) related (?)
  12. Beautiful at 20k feet? I can't say I agree. It looks like a green carpet or pool table with the occasional wheat field squares. Treelines become invisible. Granted, there are some amazing things with this map, primarily the airfields, houses/cities and details at very LOW level, but this does not look like Europe at high altitude at all. An older competitor to DCS previously run by modders has a much, much more believable rendition of the same region (altitude), and that is years and years old. Hopefully modders will come along to enhance it down the line. For a cutting edge 2020 map I am not impressed. PG, NTTR and Syria are all much, much better renditions of their real life locations. The lack of iconic locations and airfields (Biggin Hill etc), meaningful progress and updates are not encouraging either. For now I much prefer Normandy with the Barthek reskin, which looks much better.

  16. I remember when they where teased last fall, saying 'this winter'. The lack of dev-shots have me scepitical, but I am crossing fingers and toes that they will be here soon.
  17. We have scaled that down. Your first missions (The Initial Qualification- IQ phase) will have you practicing comms, formation and AAR. However, you no longer need to plan your own flight as the "checkride". You will simply repeat the mission that you have been practicing, with you as the lead. Also, you will have help. The instructors and the documentation is there to help you. That being said, we want dedicated pilots who want to improve their flying skills as part of a team.   18. Update: I noticed something interesting last update. I ALWAYS- and I mean ALWAYS have only FLAT shadows for terrian. I know they are a resource hog, and I can't see much difference anyways. However, when testing, I saw that mine were turned ON to full. Either I have misclicked by accident, or it has been reset during a patch or something. When I turned them back to FLAT, I get very got performance in the Channel, including over populated areas! Make sure to check this yourself if you have FPS/stutter issues still.

Yeah I would love to, but sadly I am just a lowly peon with no relevant skills except pointing out what I'd like to see changed:D Glad to see that you guys are responding and taking these things seriously though. It keeps me coming back to my favourite module again and again for sure. Regarding sound engine and limitations, I guess it would be stating the obvious, but ED has come a looong way with their sound design the last year and maybe they have some tricks up their sleeve to share? Either way, I fully respect the difficulty in solving this, but I also hope you keep digging until you nail it down:)
  20. One thing is the sound samples themselves, of which I think most are fine. Agreed that the intake whine could be louder in front on the ground. The biggest problem is the lag (Sound not loading in for half a second at times when switching to flyby view), overlapping sounds that does not blend (clip) and the volume mix. It does not create the 'thunder' as it passes you, but sounds more like a vacume cleaner. The fact that you hear the whine after the flyby is also way off. But like they have commented here- it seems they are aware of it. I just think is should not be consired done at all in it's current shape. I am no coder, but there are other modules which handles this extremely convincinly, so I guess it is a matter of cracking the formulae. I trust they will deliver in time.

  22. Not here either. The flyby sounds are lagging and clipping left and right. But I think the startup and externals are fine. They said there was a new AB sound, but it seems very familiar (i.e the old one) as it has a very distinct signature. Not saying this to be a nay-sayer either. I think the F-14 is a superb module and it is my main airframe, but the sound logic has problems and the quality of the flyby's are not up to par with the Hornet and Viper.
