  1. Personally I am running the Beta to get the feedback for the new Hind as it is tweaked and updated, otherwise Stable is fine.
  2. Same deal here - just installed the new Beta version and hit the Repair DCS output file or whatever it's called button and was all good.
  3. Just some info I found... In the hovering mode, spontaneous deactivation of the AFCS, caused by a short-term transition of the Doppler meter to the Memory mode is possible in case gf AFCS self-deactivation in the mode of steady hovering, it is allowed to activate it again. Spontaneous deactivation of the AFCS, as a rule, occurs when hovering over water surface and over a helipad with concrete or metal paving.
  4. Well...basically the same except for some cage over the front of the doppler panel hiding most the information (And no I don't want to entirely remove seat, cyclic, collective etc just to remove one cage lol)
  5. 5.44. Vortex Ring. 5.44.1 Manifestation: - spontaneous intensive increase of the vertical rate of descent; - helicopter shaking and darting from side to side; - unstable readings of speed indicator and rate-of-climb indicator. 5.44.2. Pilot's Actions: - by deflecting the control stick away from oneself, create a pitch angle of minus 5.....10 deg to accelerate forward speed and increase the main rotor collective pitch to reduce altitude loss; do not allow main rotor RPM dropping below permissible value; - after reaching a forward speed of 50...60 km/h, set the helicopter to horizontal flight followed by further speed increase' Note. The helicopter entering the vortex ring is possible during a power-on descent and forward speed under 50 km/h and a vertical rate greater than 5 m/s. In those cases the conditions of the main rotor airflow change, resulting in possible spontaneous intensive increase of the vertical rate of descent, shaking and darting of the helicopter from side to side, and impaired controllability. The "vortex ring" mode is the most dangerous during descent at low altitudes, because for recovery from this mode, an altitude of 20 to 200 m is required.
  6. Just checked and strangely using the rotary encoder I bound it to it will only adjust +/- 20 degrees from the heading you set with your mouse, and won't go below 000 deg at the very start of flight (need to adjust < 000 with mouse).
  7. 'No Bug' Feel free to watch my track showing collective moving to full up, pedals fell left and cyclic full fwd and left at aircraft hotstart (with all HOTAS controls centered/collective down), obviously resulting in aircraft total destruction....and tell me that is 'no bug' LMAO. OMG love it. Must be a 'Bug' then to hotstart in the Mi-8 Hip and have all controls matching your HOTAS controls and thus not immediately flipping and exploding. Hang on while I post a bug in the Hip section
  8. Nice one, cheers.
  9. Thanks so much for this! Just one point - not having any luck with the 'Autopilot Route Azimuth' Up/Down binds.
  10. Yea it is real easy to overload the Hind, 4 ATGM and 4 rocket pods and you can only take 30% fuel! Tried taking off with full weapons and fuel....even 100 knots down the runway and no lift off lol.
  11. Sry not sure then - working fine over here. Can only think you were too heavy/hot or windy maybe?
  12. Rgr thanks
  13. Yep been mentioned - As I suggested this either needs to be hot-fixed or pinned so ppl know what is going on.
  14. Make sure the send airspeed to doppler switch is not up on the LH sidewall bank of switches - is currently bugged and causes this behaviour.
  15. AP Heading - There is a knob with a small window above it just below your MGL handle panel. No option to bind that knob to anything, and the mod someone made to add keybinds doesn't work correctly for it.
  16. Interesting then there is a checkbox option for NS430 in the ME.
  17. Could be a few reasons - all your avionics turned on correctly? AP channels on (all 3 except far right B/Blade channel). Stable hover with 'hands-off' cyclic trim set. Engage Hover AP button and Altitude Button - the latter will enable the fourth AP channel 'B' to control the blade pitch and maintain height. Hands-off and it will hold a nice steady hover.
  18. Is this on the IA missions? There are a few pre-made missions that do not have Petro activated.
  19. You might be binding the '2-way' option to the button - I did this initially and it was one position while holding button, other position otherwise. You only actually need to bind lock lever up to enable gear retraction - as when you select gear down it just goes down without needing the lock lever moved first.
  20. +1 Colored indicator dot for ROE, or just leaving heading box at top with ROE colored border.
  21. Agree - switch is correct. Up = ON as per the label beside it shared with the Tail Strobe switch.
  22. Noticed this also - much harder to trim and return stick to ctr than in the HiP/Huey.
  23. Pop-up box like the AI controls in Hip etc. or could be a nice addition to the Petro sight for the pilot, 2 small green or red dot indicators beneath reticle or something indicating L&R armed or not and what bank with number either side for interval etc. Seems like it would be more useful than big boxes with your azimuth/angle from cockpit etc - I mean if you don't know you are looking out the left side of the helicopter 80 degrees and down a bit...you probably shouldn't be trying to fly it at all? (Possible to just get an indicator light displaying Petro ROE instead?)
  24. +1 - Great option in the Hip to entirely remove them.
  25. Just a small thing, but in VR the low-res geometry of the top of the front canopy is very apparent as it is right in front of your face. The Mirage had a similar thing with the engine intakes when it was released, which was promptly fixed and now looks great. The rest of the modelling of the Hind cockpit is amazing, so is a shame it is let down by looking at the blocky canopy out front.
