I thought I read somewhere that though the 3080 has 10GB's of RAM, it's GDDRX6. With compression it comes out to around 12-14GB's when comparing to a turing...

Like everyone else, I'm in a forced wait and see (d*mn bots!) :-) maybe it's for the good at this point just to wait. I was planning to get the 3080... I'll probably have my G2 well before I can snag a new GPU...

I saw on AMZ, that the Rift S is back in stock on Sept 16th. they're taking orders now... $399 FWIW

My current thought process is to go from the 1080 to the 3080. my rig specs are noted in my sig.

Haven't flown the 109 in a while, too busy enjoying the Jug. I'll have to check this out. I just remember having to give quite a bit of right rudder on the roll... but it's been a while...

should be a nice step then from my current 1080 to the 3080... been waiting for this... ;)

This is what I currently have: - 512GB NVMe for the O/S (and few minor apps) - 1TB NVMe for DCS and that other sim - 512GB NVMe currently used for the swap/pagefile - 2TB HDD for Steam and anything I consider for the Junkyard

I was flying the Jug yesterday, no issues with the canopy sound either.
