the MiG-29 and Su-33 are getting touched up this year. as will the black sea map. Originally only the F15 was promised a decent flight model and a 6DOF cockpit, out of all the FC3 planes. Eventually almost all planes where updated and since according to the latest newsletter the MiG-29 and Su-33 will enjoy a PFM quality model, meaning that the FC3 pack will offer 6 PFM quality aircraft wich turns out to be great value for money. ED has only moved out the L39 last year, next to ofcourse the NTTR map. Most other releases where made by 3rd parties including the MiG-15 ( belsimtek ) and M2000C (razbam) you mentioned. So they don't influence the process at ED to much. Lastly, the quality updates you desire must be funded, wich relies on ED moving product.

try the zoom functions. * and / ( on the numpad ). This will zoom in your whole view though.

Unable to use the radio to communicate with ATC
Sryan replied to San_A's topic in DCS: Flaming Cliffs
no you don't. none of the FC3 planes need a radio turned on by hand. go back to the mission, hit escape and go to edit keys. once there and in the su-27 menu. simply press \ and it should show you what that key does. if nothing happens, go to the drop-down menu ( the white one ), click it and then hit "search..." Once there. look for "communication menu" and see what is bound to and if necesary bind it to \ -
magnetic vs true is modelled. iirc the deviation is 6deg in georgia. on the kneeboard airport maps ( accesable on all planes, usually via RSHIFT-K or RCTRL-up) TN points straight up and MN deviates 6 degrees to the right. So I am assuming all maps have true north straight up and magnetic north on the offset.

yeah the days of -70% off are mostly behind us. although I think they occasionally still do 50% off.

Ka-50 spans the crown right now with 6 free campaigns and a paid one. although 3 of them are chapters part of the same campaign iirc. the "deployment" campaign for it is cited as very good as it starts out fairly easy and progresses on to be more difficult, providing a nice curve. All the korean era jets don't have a campaign right now, and neither seem any of the trainers. The WW2 fighters have some sort of challenge campaign. Not a real or fictious ww2 story-driven campaign. all the planes in the FC3 pack have their own campaigns. The Su-33 even sports two where one is apperently a little more hardcore requiring you to recover to the deck of an aircraft carrier before the mission is counted as complete. The Su-27 sports two campaigns, the free "mozdok" campaign and the paid "ultimate argument" campaign. Only the MiG-29S sports a campaign out of 3 playable MiG-29 variants. The F15 also sports a free and a paid campaign but the paid campaign relies on you owning the Nevada terain pack as well. The A-10C also has a few campaigns. One of them comes with the purchase of the module. Another one is unlocked when you have both the A-10 and the combined arms pack ( similair campaign that also allows you to control ground units ). One of them is paid ( and linked to you by steggles ) and another one is paid but again requires the nevada map. I'd also like to point out that there are single missions, some aircraft have more than others. I think it's worth pointing out that the A10-C has 20, Su-27 has 10, Ka-50 has 17 and 109 has 12 single missions and instant action missions that are not free-flights or training missions. This is only speaking for the modules I own. If you're interested in a particular craft. Let us know and someone who owns it can check what amount of content there is. If you wanna know what the campaigns are like you can always play the completely free georgian oil war campaign in the free SU-25T. If you want to know more about other campaigns you can always check youtube. I recomend Bunyap's channel. He has video's about several campaigns while talking about interesting and relevant stuff. have a nice day!

+1 from me. hope they make something like a tu22m backfire alongside it as its eastern rival :) similair to f15 vs su27, 109/190 vs mustang, mi8 vs huey etc

Greetings. for a work around you can try this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122856 if you place maps in that folder as described you should be able to acces them from any aircraft you own. hope it helps, have a nice day!

for controls, you can also go to the place where you can adjust controls ( either in the game or in the menu ) then go to the drop-down list and select SEARCH... there. once there you can just type the control you are looking for. have fun with learning the hog :)
-
0 difference, the order of installation does not matter. having both a single plane and fc3 installed has zero effects ( Su25, F15 and FC3 installed here )

you must also enable padlock first under options --> gameplay before you can use it. MP servers can disable padlocks.

Ka-50 Cold Weather Starting Problems (2.0.1)
Sryan replied to Mike Busutil's topic in Bugs and Problems
you're right about rotor and pitot heat but I found it good habit to flick all switches for them at once ;) I just did a -40C cold start. it was at kobuleti though, only a couple of feet higher than ASL, I could not get her started at the bases north of the mountains ( typically a few hundred feet ASL ). It could be the altitude or the fact it's typically slightly less cold ( on cold days ) along the coast than it is more inland. Not sure if that is modelled. -
Ka-50 Cold Weather Starting Problems (2.0.1)
Sryan replied to Mike Busutil's topic in Bugs and Problems
Are your de-icing systems for the pitot, engine intake and rotors set to active? -
If the innacuracy is no dealbreaker for you.. you could add USAF aggressors to your OPFOR team and add a rogue US ship that fires tomahawks at your targets in the name of the russian federation.

you can grab the 1.5 client though. It has a lot of the new stuff. It's going to take quite some time before the current map is ready to be ported into DCSW 2.
-
on the desktop, hit the start key. type in "DCS update" you should see a function that forces DCS to update
-
you need to hold out a little longer. It's not ready yet for the NTTR pre-orders. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2667762&postcount=16

any intel on what gets changed in 1.5.3? I assume the same without NTTR specifics?

there's no video for me. on the bottom I see some text: " frameborder="0" allowfullscreen>

you could technically refuel the su-27 though, and also the upcoming F/A-18 and F14. No idea if the actual fuel is interchangable though. I thought the USN stuff runs on JP5 and the USAF stuff runs on JP4 and JP8. no idea what the armee d'lair runs its stuff on.

the Finnish modified some fishbeds like the F13 for recon roles. I've heard they also modified one or more bis into a recon version they called the MiG21bis/t. I'm not to knowledgable about it, but I found what someone claims is an image of serial number MG114 wich is supposedly a bis converted for recon. they overhauled the cockpit too, though, so it's not just a case of hanging that pod there. I also read it loses its gun for the pod. all radar controls are gone but they could have been dismounted before they put it on display. some things have swapped place. not sure why the HSI and ADI are gone. there appears to be a more western styled ADI on the bottom left. so even this is not going to be an easy implementation if LNS ever decides to do it.

eh well it's just a choice of words. Early acces or beta acces. It's the reputation of ED that precedes them and not those of the startups on the steampage. There's plenty of material to prove what ED is capable off, and if people would watch only a single let's play about the bug they should realise what quality it is. and while there may be a lot of junk, early acces has also seen a lot succes titles. KSP, ARK, RUST and also arma III wich, like ED, was made by an established company who also caters to a professional market.

*sigh* while you bring decent arguments to this discussion I do not understand why you felt the need to discard my argument as bullshit. I did not agree with the poster before me to turn this game into the russia-georgia express simulator but that did not justify me being disrespectful to his opinion in any way. I liked to think of my fellow simmers as connaisseurs in digital entertainment but if I see how toxic things sometimes get on here, or on other forums or against the very VEAO devs you tested for to the point they quit. As for your arguments. The model enlargement is a setting in an options menu ( and I like it. In fact I think it would be made a bit more effective below 10km ). As for the equipment. nobody expects to be very competitive in a flightsim without some hardware. But what I would dislike is that if there where advantages in textures or other scenery stuff that was behind a paywall. Not that I care much, personally, I'm the 90% that mainly moves mud and ai planes. You can have your global map to move about between maps or whatever. But I would dislike if we'd be given a low quality global map that we are then supposed to enhance with payware scenery and that's it. I'd rather have the very high quality pay to play maps we get now. anyway, we're drifting off topic. Better get back to discussing civilian planes.

how many international flights are you going to do between russia and georgia are you going to do before you had enough of it? The idea is that we play this sim for years. and although there's enough airports to allow for plenty of routes you're not very likely to hit FL320 in an airliner unless you fly from krasnogar to Tblisi all day long. The map could easily be made more interesting for all audiences by adding parts of northern turkey, azerbaijan, crimea and other parts of russia, ukraine, bulgaria and romania to the map. However I think the current map is fine. It would be to easy to assume that by allowing new 3rd parties to develop for DCS that the quality of those modules would skyrocket. I'm afraid all we would see is an influx of "SFM" quality planes. Even if they did increase in quality up to AFM/PFM level, I don't see what would stop them taking their high quality module to other platforms as well. I personally hope we never get a globe map in DCS with low quality details wich we then need to enhance with payware scenery addons. I also only forsee problems considering the amount of mud movers we have. People would only choose terrain that is advantageous to them for spotting targets. I personally wouldn't be in the market for something like an airliner and unlikely to buy something civilian unless it's something that really sparks my interest. with that being said I'd really love something big to fly in DCS. two modules I'd really love to see a B-1B Lancer and/or Tu22M backfire module some day. both more than 4 times as heavy as the biggest plane we can fly right now. they're still fast enough to fight and survive on the modern battlefield, sporting 4 man crews in real life they might just be managable to fly solo if we consider solutions like the partial automation on the Huey when you're not the pilot or what jester-ai could do for it if LNS made it available to other developers. The Tu22M backfire could be very interesting since it seems this year will be biased towards naval aviation with the release of the hornet, tomcat, SoH map and carrier modules. The backfire sports impressive anti-ship weapons and I imagine it would be an interesting scenario to defend your carrier from player intelligent strikes backed by player intelligent Su-33's. I'd also like some other stuff like the C-130. and while planes like the C-17 and B52 would be nice to have I don't think the current map sizes can really emphasize their strong points.
