  1. unlikely. the R was based of the MiG21PFM and not on the bis. Different engine, actually shorter. it's not gonna happen I think.
  2. yes, you can take all purchases from steam and move them over here. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=151808
  3. that may be true and all, but polychop is still making it. I personaly wouldn't even dislike a "what if" 1946/47 scenario where planes like the 262, 229, Nakajima Kikka, P-80,MiG-9 and Yak-15 battle it out. As long as the real ww2 stuff gets enough attention.
  4. looking at the current trend it will probably have a three activation limit although if it is the same as it is for modules then one activation will regenerate one month after you used the last one. So you will never be permanently locked out of the content you paid money for.
  5. polychop also has a Horten 229 planned and VEAO has a whole bunch of WW2 stuff in development including two jets to challenge the german ones.
  6. it's actually AFM+ source
  7. USAF aggressors im editor.
  8. you'll find it below your plane on the righthand side of your cockpit. It's also on the A-10C and we can even adjust some things to it but it doesn't really work because whatever this thing can, the TGP can do better. And in this simulation there's no need for redundancy as the tgp cannot break.
  9. ok thanks for the heads-up. I wasn't actively following it's progress. I just checked if its forum was still there and it was. it was a naval trainer after all.
  10. If razbam is still actually doing the T2 buckeye it can do carrier ops as well.
  11. If I read this guy correctly, he's not having any issues getting locks on people, instead he is not being fed information about the aspect of his target. normally on the bottom right of the HUD you will see a H,T,L or R symbol indicitating Head, tail left or right aspect. my first hunch is that you do not have a pure lock but are instead tracking a jamming source. does it say HOJ anywhere on your HUD or radar display?
  12. that's just not how it works. you need to lean over to right, over your shoulder and then turn your head to do what you describe. you can fiddle with the X value in tha TiR software to set how much you need to lean.
  13. It did that in 1.5 and I even believe it did that in 1.2
  14. Hey I do not hate The F35! in fact I love it. The reason it's recieving so much FLaK in popular media can simply be explained with good old chinese wisdom: “Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak.” I do not, however, like a collection of 32 planes and calling it an airforce. Anyway, let's get back on topic.
  15. If they want to do a modern F-15 they should do a C2040 :P 2 of these could theoretically take out my whole country's airforce once we upgrade to the F35 :P It's going to be data-linked to the F22, and also carry an IRST in a pod that also houses the avionics for said datalink.
  16. I want to go to las vegas :D
  17. The sooner the better :D But it's done when it's done ;) If you miss your LOMAC planes you could also get the flaming cliffs pack. it's on sale on steam now. All planes now have 6dof cockpits and good flight models ( except the su33 and mig29). that could help you kill some time untill we finally get the f/a18
  18. afaik these are friendlies and this happens automaticly
  19. give the slew a jiggle and let it re-lock.
  20. my guess is someone loaded smoke FFARs instead of explosive ones :P
  21. Most of us own the FC3 pack. We don't want the MiG29A for ourselves, We'd like it to be a plane we could show to newcomers. So people have something to try that isn't moving mud in that slug. How about a compromise then? the Free one only has the gun and heaters or something like that.
  22. I vote for yes. You guys realise there's a better S model only buyers can fly? Some of us are always working on having new people try out the sim. the Su25T is a little sluggish wich leaves the first impression that the game is sluggish. The mudmoving isn't really that hard but it can be daunting for a newcomer. The air to air also has it's own appeal, and if newcomers can judge DCS on its merrits in that sector they may become more marketable to the upcoming fighters like ED's F/A18, LNS' F14 or VEAO's Eurofighter. As for a free helicopter, I doubt that'll happen. None of the helicopters are really suitable to make a free version of, in my eyes. Other than maybe an unarmed civilian Huey. Still, to fly helicopters you're really gonna need to have some periphials.
  23. I hope you guys don't mind if I check here and put up some facts :) The F15C and Su-27 have the highest quality flight model available in DCS. the so called Professional flight model "PFM". The systems model level is Standard Systems Model "SSM" As are all other FC3 level craft. The A10A and SU25A enjoy the second highest flight model: Advanced Flight Model Plus "AFM+" This is equal in quality to AFM but has extra calculations for forces caused by hydraulics and Fuel. Both planes sport a standard systems model "SSM" The Free Su25T Sports an Advanced flight model "AFM". An AFM uses multiple points of force application and calculation on the relevant flight surfaces. This simulates edge of envelope conditions well and avoids scripted behaviors as used in an SFM. This system also partially implements the aircraft's flight augmentation systems. This is the 3rd highest quality of flight modelling in DCS. Note that this plane sports an SSM contrary to what I read before ( the actual avionics are of a higher quality than say the Su-25A, but the simulation level is still simplified ). The Su-33 and MiG29 variants are the last relics to use the Standard Flight Model "SFM". Also sporting Standard systems modelling ofcourse. ED plans to upgrade these at some point. You can refer to this if you are more curious about what each quality level actually means, there's also a link to a matrix at the bottom that confirms my statements about the quality levels I've made. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=122801
  24. the number on the bottom of the HUD means nothing. if AWACS calls out a target to you 50km out, you can set this to 50 and when you detect the target it will be in the middle of the HUD. If you leave it at 10 but your radar detects a target 80km out, it will still be displayed, along the top of the HUD. not manipulating the numbers on the HUD does not mean you are being withheld from seeing targets you should actually detect. You might need to do a bit more manipulation on the radar in the Su-27 than in the 15C. There's no 'wide' scan like in the 15. You'll need to slew the radar left center and right to stay aware of all thats in front of you. Also setting the right frequency just like in the F15. I recomend giving the training mission for sensors a go, that'll explain all modes and shows you targets you can detect one way but not the other. The training missions are under single missions.
  25. going to point out you're not getting a dime in bonus credits if you buy on steam. They only work in the DCS store. You can buy the L39 here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/albatros/ receive $10 in bonus money. You could use the $10 as a discount on NTTR. But you could also just buy NTTR right now with a $10 preorder discount. http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/modules/nttr_terrain/ None of this can be activated on steam. You can however, take all the items you purchased on steam and activate them on the standalone.
