You can only select "nothing" as the clouds preset but it'll still show some cirrus in a 6 minutes cycle and it's independent of the map. Is this reported @Flappie?

Neither this mission nor the first one are really hard compared to some later ones. Repeating the same mission 20 times is no fun especially when you have to fly over 30 minutes before the action starts. To save you lots of frustration and wasted time on flying the mission again and again and again I suggest to put off the campaign for now and practice your BVR skills first until you're comfortable and constistently capable of destroying waves of enemy fighters. Thank me later.

For rail camera use Lctrl+F11.

We need a track file or mission, otherwise it's guessing.

It's not fair you can bump multiple times but I can give 1 star only once.

What are you talking about? Most missions I played in SP don't involve that much aircraft in total. "Just" 12 human players online in one mission can be really engaging providing they play their roles instead of goofing around. @ALFA-62 Making everything free and dumb down can bring more players in but will also kill DCS financially, lower its simulation quality and make it different game out of it which none of us want to happen. If you want more relaxed gameplay there are already other titles for that.

No, if they are in the DLC campaign files, they will work and be loaded in the mission that use them. No need to install it manually unless they are optional and uploaded separately.

How much does your DCS experience rely on community contributions?
draconus replied to Dangerzone's topic in Chit-Chat
My own usage is medium - I play almost exclusively SP and use missions that come with modules or play DLC campaigns but I also play free user made missions and campaigns - some of them are real gems, top notch quality productions. This is totally managable and still fun to use only built-in content or DLC for most beginners if you want to fly popular modules in SP. Might be a different story for less popular ones or MP. This goes a bit deeper under DCS skin though. Ex. some HB missions use CTLD and MIST scripts or some paid DLC campaigns use user made skins. Also some user made mods are getting into DCS core recently. This shows there is no hard line between pure DCS and community made content any more. Having said that I stay away from mods and 3rd party apps as much as possible. -
F-15E Radar Modes HOTAS Diagram & Azimuth vs Elevation Plots
draconus replied to CourageousPotato's topic in F-15E
That's expected behavior. -
R-77 are active radar homing missiles. Your flares will be useless against them. You can use notching maneuver and drop chaff instead. Generally you should wait a bit for the MiGs to come closer into the Georgia border or you'll get punished for entering Abkhazia. Before engagement you should be high and fast to give your AMRAAMS as much energy as possible. Use comms menu to command your wingman to get into line abreast formation and then engage bandits when fired upon. After firing make sure to use crank maneuver to still provide radar guidance to your missiles (until they become active) and keep SA on oppponents while reducing the closure rate. Descent into the lower altitude to make it harder for the enemy missiles to get to you. Best thing is they'll use the same tactics - keep pushing Make another turn into them when necessary and fire another pair.

It's only possible to not use it. There are 2 internal positions simulated: driver and gunner sight. The top machine gun position with open hatch is also realistic.

Nevada's shadows on mountains
draconus replied to Ladan's topic in DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range
Looks like normal ground textures, not intended to represent shadows. -
They usually release it without warning.

As you can see - not yet, no news.

Carrier IFLOLS overbright…..and overlay query
draconus replied to markturner1960's topic in Bugs and Problems
My vote for fixing the lighting and removing overlays. Kneeboard place is on the knee, not overlay screen. -
Nevada's shadows on mountains

Show me. -
Yeah and I base it on over 1 year of good experience.

Yes, all you'll get are images, hopefully with coords. You can do what you want with it. Perhaps a trigger in the mission can react to the right image taken but you can't expect module to generate a new mission for you.

Why so sure? It still works and will work.
-
No, it is going to be another free aircraft.

I was amazed to see very bright electrical lines, glinting in the sun IRL. Granted, it was not the case as in the OP. Also note they are exclusively 1 pixel thick in DCS and always black if not bugged otherwise. Not very realistic - the lines can either be very visible or almost invisible in some cases IRL.

Why would no one ask for it before? Or did they?
