  1. Well said !
  2. You'll find several Pimax threads here https://forums.eagle.ru/forumdisplay.php?f=497 Or do a forum search for Pimax .
  3. Yeah , not a lot to go by...Windows settings ( game mode off , power vs performance to performance , pagefile settings ) Nvidea (max performance) and Bios settings (XMP on , hyperthreading off , o'clocking ) as well as hardware differences (memory speed , motherboard , cpu) can make all the difference . It's not ALL about the gpu !
  4. GPU first . Get the best you can afford . Consider 30xx , depending on VRAM , which will likely need to be greater than 8gb in future for VR and/or Vulkan . VRAM will also help if you later decide to upgrade your headset . Memory whenever convenient , perhaps while waiting for Ampere/Rdna2 to shake out , or later if you want to save every last dime for a GPU first . Then cpu . Welcome to the forum !
  5. Interestingly , with my new build (below) i used the default driver Windows installed (Nvidea 432.00) and have never updated it , so well does the default run .
  6. This thread comes up every three weeks . No . ED has stated repeatedly that they have no interest in modeling more than two engines for flyable aircraft .
  7. "Slider" checked in DCS axis tune ?
  8. I view the tpod as essential in VR . I find the low-res mav flir display difficult with a RiftS . It's hard to put the thing on the thing when you can't see the thing or the thing :)
  9. I have formed the habit of cycling all my control axes at the briefing screen . I often get throttle/rudder/ brake issues if i don't , but never if i do . This needs be done only once per boot .
  10. A small desk fan does it for me....
  11. Yeah , the mulltiple TGP iterations with different control functionalities have been a recurring source of frustration for me as well . Re-learning how to use it after an update , i still find myself with the same problems i had months ago - loitering over an AO for far too long while i figure out what Hotas switch does what NOW . And passes made without a weapons release for the same reason , as well as new bugs . When i think back to how excited i was to first get the TGP , i feel like slapping myself .
  12. There is no need for this thread...
  13. Nice ! I plan to do the same after Ampere/RDNA2 .
  14. The 2060 super should run a Rift S reasonably well . And that headset is (graphically speaking) a nice upgrade from the CV1 .
  15. This is one of the more useful wishlist posts . Trim with buttons is entirely too sensitive . I can compensate for pitch sensitivity with a micro-adjustment of the throttle , but the roll axis offers no such compensation .
  16. "No good deed goes unpunished"
  17. Gotta say that it's been running very well for me in VR . Yesterday i experienced one of my smoothest missions ever-this with two flir displays running .
  18. Yeah , for all the issues , VR is still an amazing experience in DCS . I can only dream of how good it will be with multicore and Vulkan .
  19. This guy seems to have resolved the problem... https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=4440131&postcount=4
  20. Well done vid . I personally cannot use SSAA as i now fly exclusively in VR . 4x MSSA is not possible with a 1070 in VR as well . Still , i gleaned some good info that perhaps can apply to VR so thanks , and again , very well done vid .
  21. You want a flora simulator !
  22. Yeah , if at all possible , consider a desktop . If you must have a laptop , get a gpu at least 1 step up from it's equivalent desktop number . Say a 2070 for lowish eye candy . Also , pay cllose attention to cooling . Thermal throttling is a thing with laptops . You may wish to pm Dudikoff . He seems to be the go-too guy regarding laptops . Bitmaster as well .
