  1. K . Try less pd/aa
  2. Have you tried dropping the gpu overclock ? You might also try less pd/aa .
  3. I was referring to your paper map allusion .
  4. Are you using deskmounts ? I am able to match virtual and real-world positions for the Hornet very closely with mine .
  5. Yes , this problem has been commented on by many . It seems lighting issues have been more or less constant since 2.0 despite several adjustments .
  6. Vaicom Pro has a checked option to disable the comms menu . That may be why it isn't showing .
  7. I use a trackball , but VoiceAttack works well too . Ready-made VA profiles for DCS aircraft on the input/output page . https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=227717
  8. Yes , according to Chuck's guide .
  9. This thread has gone to places i did not know existed...and prolly would have been better off not knowing :)
  10. Yeah , i map it to a hotas switch .
  11. Noticed there are a lot more settings for captogloves in DCS now . ED is apparently taking them seriously . I haven't tried them myself , and prolly won't , but the "arm bending" setting i interpret as meaning no disembodied hands ?
  12. Is that a ssd or a sshd "hybrid" drive ? I've heard references to the latter not performing well in dcs .
  13. Really can't get good info with those loose definitions of hardware . Only specifics are Warthog and TiR . Further , the definition of minimum wage is hazy as well . In the US for example , the minimum wage varies by state , and the federal rate is largely irrelevant . Also in the US various taxes are withheld from ones paycheck . Finally , taxes due at the point of sale vary by state as well . In any event , the whole exercise seems-forgive me-kinda pointless .
  14. Heck , i'm running a similar system with a 1070 and it does better than you might expect .
  15. Hmmm... have you considered using VoiceAttack and Vaicom Pro ? These allow natural comms and do away with the menus altogether .
  16. By that logic there should be no electric starter on cars...
  17. Depending on # maps , modules , campaigns , liveries etc , figure roughly 60-160 gb . But don't run too close to the overall limit ! Temp files , pagefiles , download space requirements and ssd's preference for a margin mean i would not consider less than a 240gb drive for a DCS- only installation . More maps on the way as well .
  18. The greater resolution of the RiftS demands are largely offset by the 80hz refresh rate as opposed to the 90 hz of the CV1 . I could see the 6gb vram of the 980ti as possibly being problematic however . While being far from satisfied with current DCS VR performance , I would not describe it as being unplayable , at least in SP . This leads me to think that you may have a configuration issue in your new system with Windows or your bios . Windows game mode "off" ? Windows power setting "max performance" ? Windows USB settings ok ? BIOS ram setting to "XMP" ? Oh , and Nvidea power setting to "max performance" ? And Oculus setting to "performance" vs "quality" ?
  19. Were i to upgrade that system , it would be with another 16 gig ram as the op stated , an ssd , and if the wallet allows , a 2070S . With a bios update , he could prolly plug in a 7700k later as well .
  20. You can use a Hotas switch directly in the TiR software . The keyboard hot switch may be in use by DCS . If that is the case , you can change the keyboard hotkey as well .
  21. I think an often-overlooked advantage of the blower cards is that the hot air is directly exited from the case , offering the potential for all the other components to run cooler . Not so much an issue for me now , but my previous case had relatively poor cooling and no effective means of rectifying , so i appreciated the direct exit feature .
  22. I like Pro , not least because it gives me more control over updates . Cost difference is minimal .
