Sieht aus, als ob ein Virenscanner das blockiert. Es gibt wohl einige Dateien im neuen Update, die mit einigen Virenscannern Probleme haben.

I had this issue after updating to 2.5.6.43872 (the hotfix). I could remedy it by deleting the options.lua in the saved games dcs folder and let DCS rebuilt it. After setting everything up as I had before, the game start didn't hang a single time since then.

I had no problems installing and running DCS 2.5.6. Seems anti virus and voice attack are causing issues. fps could be lower on some systems, but I didn't notice any slowdowns.

VR over 2D is a highly subjective matter. I had an Odyssey+ for a few weeks and went back to a monitor. Others don't want to fly without VR anymore. To each his own.

Back in the days I had an liyama 27" 1080p touchscreen as my primary display. It worked quite well in DCS. I would've paid 16 USD more for the 24 Gig version. The cpu and gpu should be good enough to play @1080p with most of the options maxed.

Set energy option to "max performance" in the nvidia settings? Another thing to check is the card throttling because of thermal problems? Or it could just be a defective card.
