  1. PS in case you need the interior LoL:
  2. Thanks. Can one do this file manhandling via JSGME?
  3. Hoo Boy ... eagerly awaiting! BTW i am currently working on some historic RAF captured He111H16 skin for IL2. Wonder what size your DDS files will be, 4096x4096k ? Split in Body, wings L-R dds files probably? Alas the layout will be different, but i could try to convert elements like a wireframe layer eventually.
  4. ADDED after reading back. It works fine since i moved my 'savedgames' folder from my boot drive and *username* folder to another drive with these tips: when you
  5. Still i would love to see a more clearly visible (switchable) display of airspeed and height, maybe compass and Time acceleration factor. That instead or addition to the L-Cntrl Y.
  6. Thanks, already had that, but i increased curvature now .. set to 63 helps a lot!
  7. Hi Sunstag, thanks for all your works, this link is dead, but can you maybe re-post this or can i find it elsewhere?
  8. Thanks ... i'll start making some skins for it after that. ADDED, just finished a historical He111H16 for IL2, first captured by the USAAF, then re-captured by the UK and transferred and now in the RAF museum.
  9. i use this to set time and date to get an 'enlightning' full moon in IL2 Great Battles, maybe it works in DCS ? https://www.fullmoon.info/
  10. PS a (stupid of course) question: Why are older (plane) mods not working and what file types have changed?
  11. aha, thanks, i'll take a dive into GvGME then ....
  12. Hi Hawkeye60. I only recently discovered this DCS modding and started with yourww2 ships now: FANTASTIC work and mucho gracias !! Just found an old He111 bomber MOD as download, is there any way to get this to work for 2.9? https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1985066/ I am an more or less experienced IL2 skinner and maybe can help with 4k or even 2k dds files for it. (I am mainly into ww2 stuff, love to shoot nazi's still since i have family that was executed in 1944 by them sadly.) PS i do have great friends in current Germany however .... Did this historic & captured Beer hauling use only they say He111H6 f.i.
  13. By advice from various helpers on the DCS forum i moved my savedgames folder with DCS.openbeta to a different drive (do this via properties and windows, otherwise it won't work). Has any one used OMM in such a context? Also i wonder if OMM de-installs the injected mods like JSGME does, when UN-selecting them.
  14. OK thanks, as JSGME deletes software when UN-activating it seems a better option ... especially using it with IL2 where the MOD stuff is inserted in the main game files. Must think about a change, maybe after an OvGME 'upgrade". OR this? Download: https://github.com/sedenion/OpenModMan/releases/tag/1.1.1
  15. Found this Heinkel MOD, https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1985066/ installed it via JSGME, seems to work but there are no graphics ... any tips? There are only 1024x1024 TGA files in the liveries folder, all there as in the description.lua : -------------------------------------- livery = { {"Body front", 0, "HE111_Body_ Front.tga" ,false}, {"Body rear", 0, "HE111_Body_Rear.tga" ,false}, {"wing left", 0, "HE111_Wing_Left.tga" ,false}, {"wing right", 0, "HE111_Wing_Right.tga" ,false}, {"Under", 0, "HE111_under.tga" ,false}, } name = "Standard 1" --countries = {"USA"} id = 4 -- helmet WWII ----------------------------------------- Change USA to Third.Reich? ... Maybe i should convert them to another format like dds or bmp, or set them to ",true" instead of ",false" ?
  16. ADDED: i got mods working using Art's and Rudel's advice. thanks. However i am still confused a little about folder names. Generally it works if i set f.i ships up install via JSGME in my collected MODS folder: F:\Saved Games\MODS-DCS ... f.i. a Navy tugboat: F:\Saved Games\MODS-DCS\Navy Tugboat\DCS.openbeta\Mods\tech\Navy Tugboat works OK. Now where are they installed, as i cannot find them in my working game folder after activation via JSGME, F:\- GAMES 2\DCS World OpenBeta Are they moved somewhere else in a location other than latter folder ??
  17. Well, been practicing a lot, but i guess i must fine tune the setup of my warthog set per individual plane. Do you use the T.A.R.G.E.T shell stuff? Gave that up some years ago as being too confusing for me at my age ...
  18. GENERAL remark: This MODDING forum department seems now a bit confusing for the first part why i gave it up earlier. Time for a new fresh start and freeze or moderate this one 'out' ?? ------------- Hi Rudel ..... since i started using mods the 'proper' way as you advised, thanks, BTW, savedgames foldered etc, i used JSGME. It seems however OvGME has more to offer? Have you maybe some tips how to use it instead with DCS.openbeta compered to JSGME. I mainly got interested in WW2 era stuff now, especially third party materials to incorporate like ships, vehicles, and now on the lookout for ww2 planes that work. Really miss a map that incorporates ww2 Germany to attack nazi home-grounds ... maybe the Baltic sea and Norway coast too. -------------------------- PS: DCS i bought first for helicopters, but still find them 'impossible' to fly with out a collector .......... :
  19. 5 years later ... just found this, alas the download links are dead; a fix or removal?
  20. They say this RAF He111 was mainly used for beer hauling for Monty's troops in the desert .... PS i discovered this above Spitfire payload affair making a mission bombing your wonderful and well done DKM ships. Only one went down so far ...
  21. Game 2.9, and i could not get the spit with bombs (i bought the spit last sale). Then i found that by right click on the green Mission payload field below the 3,2,1 fields it worked. What puzzles me still is that the 500lb version was only able on plane 2,3, and 4, (bomb in the middle) pictured) not for the player ... What the various beer bombs do? Pub logistics?
  22. Destroyer by hawkeye66, ww2 nazi ship MOD (DKM Z39) ... i could only get it moving so far to the first waypoint with added task 'go to dito'. The flag wavers even, no matter where the wind's coming from in the same direction. I wonder if the torpedoes and guns fire, the DKM_Z39.lua file only mentions 'CAT_SHELLS. Must get it moving first. PS the encyclopedia file says it was transferred to the US Navy in 1945 .... History citation: The Z39 was a Type 1936A (Mob) destroyer built for Germany's Kriegsmarine during World War II. She was laid down in August 1940 and completed three years later. Her anti-aircraft armament was increased extensively during the war. Z39 served with the 6th Destroyer Flotilla her entire German career, which she spent escorting transports in the Baltic Sea, laying mines, and bombarding land forces. The destroyer served the navies of a total of three different countries: from 1943 to 1945 with the Kriegsmarine as Z39, from 1945 to 1947 with the US Navy as DD-939, and from 1948 to 1964 with the French Navy as Q-128. Throughout her German service, the ship laid numerous barrages (explosives concentrated over a wide area) of mines in the Baltic Sea and bombarded Soviet forces several times. In the last months of the war, Z39 helped escort steamships that were evacuating German soldiers and civilians from Eastern Europe to Denmark. Z39 was damaged twice, once by Soviet planes while in Paldiski and then by British planes while in Kiel. At the end of the war, the destroyer was transferred to the United States Navy. It conducted experiments testing her equipment—her high-pressure steam propulsion plant in particular. After the US Navy deemed her obsolete, the ship was transferred to the French Navy, where she was cannibalized for parts, and made into a pontoon boat for minesweepers. Looks great and well made: ADDED: This waypointing issue was with 3 ships with their own waypoints. With these 3 grouped together they followed the waypoint route OK.
  23. Yep, agree, was only just daydreaming i guess. Just was combining airfields on Normandy via miz files by saving them as StaticTemplates, and then importing them into a new mission or StaticTemplate. Quite a bit of work.
  24. A general question on creating ww2 missions regarding the amount of work involved? Should one prefer the Normandy 2 map over the Channel, as latter might not be 'maintained' anymore (?).
  25. In Il2 you can draw a box around visible objects to select, and save them as group. Also you can select which are visible per type or set a group as active. The selected you can save-export as group file, and f.i import them in an other mission. Very, very useful ... BTW the name template is used a bit too general for various things in DCS, can be confusing.
