I would be happy to take those bugs in open beta. They would be unacceptable for stable though.

Biggest thing for me was figuring out the right amount of slow constant acceleration relative to the tanker until just after the connection. Makes corrections much easier and don't end up chasing the basket and oscillating. My biggest wtf has been after disconnect, retract the probe and set the air back to both engines, as soon as I put the throttles forward, the plane pulls up hard. I have to push the stick down to stay level and if I let go, nose goes way up and AoA past 15 units. Only way I can keep control is to invert or roll 90 degrees then level out. Sometimes takes 2 or 3 times. Trimming doesn't do anything. Anyone else see this?

Finally bit the bullet again and tried 2.5.6 once more and was able to launch this time and had these strange messages which led me here. Hope the patch is soon. Didn't even do any tweaks yet but did a nice simple cold start, long flight and navigation and then landing just fine. Looks like the F-14 cockpit fix worked (I can finally see the clean cockpit mod I downloaded I don't know how long ago) and the lighting looked nice... I didn't set it to late enough though so will try again in a bit. Then see what happens to multiplayer. :scared:

That's the safest bet. I tried to go to 2.5.6 once and couldn't even launch the game. After I reverted, I just decided to stay put until I hear enough people telling me it's stable on multiplayer and launching & recovering on a carrier.

You'll notice there's almost always at least one or two cats still open for launching. Sometimes the waist cats, sometimes one of the two on the bow. Anything happens they'll quickly be clearly a path for recovery on the angled deck while still leaving at least one cat open for more launching.

F14 - air refueling - I find it easier to refuel with the wing folded
Uxi replied to Kelevra's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
I usually do bomb mode, but have been successful with manual to 30-35, as well. I was having trouble staying connected and loosening the throttle tension is what helped me. Much like landing the throttle is near constantly in motion, though in small amounts. At least in single player. I've tried twice in multiplayer and had issues again, but it was higher and faster than the practice single player mission I made or the instant action, so gonna adjust those. -
Beaver tail, maybe chinpod, no GPS dome on the back.

You'd only notice if you had an analog mapping for it. If you're using a flaps toggle or flaps up/flaps down assignments there would be no way to notice. The Virpil throttles have that analog lever sitting right there, so it was a natural mapping.

I have read in a couple places, pilots would manually change their sweep to deceive their opponents in ACM. I really doubt they were damaging their planes, though it's certainly possible some did at first and that NAVAIR responded to stop that with standing orders at procedures that went to the squadrons. IOW, oversweeping was probably the general rule rather than undersweeping. Simulation does give certain luxuries that Fleet pilots would have never had... not only in wasting missiles and fuels, but in overG... and damaging the plane in general. Hard to see how to address that outside of the squadron environment or a grading system after that would mitigate the otherwise simple logic of kills vs deaths.

HB have shown their own deck crew models though and IIRC the ATC is built into the game, as were already have it kinda (incomplete and inconsistent)...
-
Could dovetail with with F-14B Upgrade, too in the same way F-14A and B (are supposed to)
-
Midway would be nice and doesn't seem like it should be too hard, relatively speaking. But then we'd need Wildcats.if not Dauntless and Devastators... to say nothing of the appropriate A6M Zero, and Kates and Vals.

Would like to see the elevators working along with the ready room and LSO station but all these are behind the functional ATC, deck crews, and lights for my priority preference.

This had happened to me a couple times and can't really figure out why. VKB GF2 and MCG Pro. I'd say about 30 to 40 degrees. I'll hold stick forward, try to trim nose down without effect & sometimes need to roll or reorient the aircraft and then seems to be normal.

I could not launch DCS at all in 2.5.6 for some reason so went back to stable.

Anyone have a design like this in STL format? These buttons are deep in my mind and I want them for the at least the air flow (especially if I do an F-14D or hypothetical F-14E build) moreso than the display switches (in which they disappeared from the F-14D).

These are epic!

That was true originally though we already have the Bombcat with essentially the same dumb bomb ordinance (mk 82, 83, 84) with laser guided weapons GBU-10, 12, 16, 24, etc with LANTIRN while the Hornet excels with more advanced weaponry (JDAM and JSOW especially) and general technology. Jester certainly helps with target detection and identification more than anything though since selecting through the radial menu vs the MFD, etc I'd call a wash. Jester definitely don't help actually fly the plane the FBW is much more forgiving in the Bug vs the older tech of the Cat.

I most want a mature F-14D and 2004 era F-14B (perhaps that as a sequel module with hypothetical Super Tomcat 21 F-14E). Though can see the appeal of Cold War scenarios with late 1970s, early 1980s high viz F-14A as well, it's probably last on my personal list. Iranian Cats would be great for adversaries, no doubt. Doubt we'd see Fakour 90 or anything like that, though so limited to early AIM-54A...

Yeah deleting that file did it. Well I moved it into a new subfolder, Thanks! I did note that the right and left were off big time (L_TOP was 1.424930 and R_TOP was 1.095000) everything else was much closer. Curious how they'd get so far off.

I have always been hitting the x on this and have been fine for a few months. Just now though I noticed one eye was different than the other (apparently on elevation) and now the WMR window isn't coming up anymore. It's most disorienting but I can close one eye and bring up the settings but not that initial WMR screen. WMR Home and Elite Dangerous seemed fine, so just DCS. 1) Anyone see anything like this? 2) Any way to get that debug setting window back?
-
Wondered what was. Duplicate? Ugh. Waste of space.
-
Yeah I got the coupon and used it. Not as good a deal as standalone, but 1) pretty good and 2) better than nothing.
-
I had that happen a bunch when I was new. Wasn't sure if I got (marginally) better or they're was a patch but haven't gone into a spin in awhile...

I wouldn't say impossible but definitely inconvenient. Pause/ escape, take headset off, go to browser, put on headset, unpause...
