Anybody that thinks that nailing a 3 wire on a virtual carrier makes them a real pilot in any sense, please go try! But put me down as your beneficiary first!! I sometimes think that’s why this place is so hostile sometimes. Because there are folks here that actually believe this makes them pilots and take themselves way to seriously. My guess is even military trainees after hours in a sim, still head up in a trainer with an instructor.

Anything that suggests conservatism, at least here in the States....

If you’re looking for reasons its a bad idea, here’s mine anyway: 1. Single player, fly out, drop bomb, pow. Eat pizza rolls, Meh... 2. Dynamic campaign, fly out, drop bomb, they retaliate in full. End of game. Eat pizza rolls, Meh... 3. Multi player, trolls fly out, drop bomb wreck fun for everyone per usual, call mom for more pizza rolls, repeat 4. Ed staff takes time to create this over some other needed features or upgrades, insert any of the above, Meh.... These are my reasons but I suspect why these threads continue to drabble on with the “I know you are but what am I “ response of the OP is because of some folks not being used to being told no....

I just added what amounts to a “lazy susan” bearing under my seat. Gives me just enough hip swivel to make up for the lost peripheral vision and flexibility of age yet still feels more real to me. I am of the camp that the whole sim is a compromise so if it works for you, do it. Haven’t flown in months tho. Grew tired of all the patches and reconfiguring so shut down until 2.7 is out. Oh and waiting for 3090 availability. Excitedly awaiting release!

You can already pretend in single player. Just load up any big iron bomb and pretend away. In multi player it will just bring the critters out of their holes and there would be daily armageddon. If you want to simulate a real “cold war gone nuke” exchange, just flip the power button off. show all the maps and drawings you like but miserable idea....

For OP, Outstanding Idea! When do you plan on releasing it? We appreciate you stepping up!

Seems to me that since servers are developed by individuals, that scenarios can be created for any contingency. If your a whirlybird nut, create a server with helos and A-10s only and there ya go. There is really nothing “forcing an imbalance “ except supply and demand. Current servers exist because people created them and continued to populate them. Fly a helo in a “ non air supremacy” environment at your own risk. As inclusive a society as we all would love, that doesn’t include making the environment safe for your choice of aircraft! Make ya a helo server, and whirlybird nuts will come! Or they won’t......

Either this guys got an agenda with someone involved or a troll. 0 to 100 way too fast! Either way, on to ignore list, suggest you stop waisting bandwidth and do the same....

I really wish you would just release it as is so that people will stop bitching about missing a date and commence with the sure to follow 50 pages of “why did you release it if it doesn’t work perfect “. Posts....

Yes I understand. What you are saying is they should make money but somebody else should pay them. It’s ok tho, that’s the wave of the future and your being force fed it so it’s not your fault for feeling that way. Somewhere along the way, folks got convinced that its not what you do, but what you feel that matters and most don’t feel like paying... shit, whats your paypal, may as well write you a check too...

In terms or “immersion “. How do address the issue of lack of tactile stimulus when “flying “ without a flight stick in your hands? seems to me that if I am holding onto nothingness it do really matter what I see or hear? I get the reach into space and flip a switch on the virtual dash deal I guess, but how is holding an imaginary stick more immersive? That said, it should be possible for someone who chooses not to or can’t afford a stick, but certainly not more immersive

While a realistic ground presence would certainly be welcome, just watch the GR re enactment of “we were solders” to see how even excellent planning and preparation, is still boring AF. The current ground environment is lame (but I get it). That said I don’t envision time ever where there are enough ground players to be anything more than a nuisance. You are never going to get a platoon working in unison across 1 map much less multi servers. Maybe a squad of guys but that won’t change anything. What you will get is the dude that sits at the end of the runway with the manpad ect. imho if the CPU power is to be utilized, it needs to be an ED based, realistic AI battle ground that evolves with the current situation and can be “loosely” directed by a commander. (I believe they are moving that way “. Seriously, if every single person that logged onto a server today took a CA style slot, there still wouldn’t be enough ground units to make a difference in outcome or interest. Especially since this isn’t just a sim but a “study level “ sim. seems like a waste of resources but just my opinion

Hey, Any update an ED’s 152 project? Has to be getting closer to release? Which model 152 is it? I’m hoping for the 1965 block 2 that has the take off, flies in a circle then lands capability. I wish Bigchewy was more transparent! can we get it in red and white??? Happy Monday

If DCS could add any interesting effects at all when a bomb hits the ground besides pft.... maybe. Otherwise super duper anti climactic to drop any bombs currently.
