  1. Yes, this function you talk about exist in the real aircraft. It's called DTC (Data Transfer Cartridge), it stores stuff like mission radio frequency, flight plan, pilot's preferred setup of the MFD pages... In RL, once DTC is inserted into the jet, the pilot just have to load the data during start up and everything will be all set. In DCS however, this function has not been implemented yet, but it will be in the future, since it's a realistic function the real jet has. 2. BTW, is the Sniper XR image colored or black and white (TV mode of course)? Just curious
  3. Well, the enemy would be really dumb to not see you coming. I assume you meant to do this within 10 miles since you mentioned ACM and DGFT. F-16 is not a F-22, I doubt it can sneak within 10 miles of any pilot knows what he/she is doing. I mean if the enemy flies a F-18 or F-16, AWACS and datalink would just tell them where you are. Also, to get Link 16 track you need to have line of sight with your friendly or your AWACS, which means flying low is not really an option. This just sounds like the Flanker/Russian tactic for me, why not just utilize F-16's thrust and weight ratio? Fly high and fast, shoot your 120s in high energy state. It's what the F-16 is designed to to.
  4. I think if you enabled fullscreen, the game is in fullscreen when you turn it on. However, if you alt+tab and alt+tab back, the game becomes borderless window mode. Because when you alt+tab out of the game for the first time after opening the game, it will take a second or two to switch to either the desktop or another window, which is normal for games running in fullscreen; and in the 2nd time you alt+tab out of the game (i.e. you have already alt+tab back into the game), it switches to another window much faster (basically instant), which I think is a indication you are in borderless since borderless is faster for alt+tab. However, I don't really notice any difference in fps, even if I uncheck fullscreen and use borderless. Maybe it's because I don't use any sort of v-sync.
  5. Oh..... So if a Hornet refuels, it's she putting her "thing" into Mr. Tanker's "thing". Ewwww.... now that's disgusting. Confirmed Hornet is a ladyboy, and feels bad for Mr. Tanker.
  6. LOL. You made my day. Also, in regards to the official name battle: "Falcons are better known as predators of smaller birds. But they love feeding on wasps as well. It has also been discovered that Falcons catch an entire wasp nest to feed their kids with the essential meal." Which explains why F-16 kills F-18 all the time in multiplayer servers. Little bug doesn't stand a chance against its natural predator.
  7. Why not lower your spec so more people can enjoy and you can make more money? Or slow down your pace of upgrading the graphics so more people can actually follow. Why does ED have to make DCS the most graphic demanding game? I mean, DCS is a flight sim, not a realistic graphic sim... Not every one can afford 3090s and i9s. DCS is already an expensive game to play even without VR, players have to buy head tracking and HOTAS to get a decent experience. Now you want everyone to upgrade their PC to the most high end rig. Honestly, 2.5 was great, the game ran on good FPS and no one really complained about the graphics.
  8. BTW, also the "lock" sound Betty says when you lock something in ACM.
  9. Nice. Thx for the info.
  10. Do 8 more hellfires make the helo significantly heavier and more draggy than 38 hydra rockets? Edit: I did some calculation based on weight, seems only 300 (actually less than) lbs heavier.
  11. Yep. Surely enough firepower. But one thing I do worry is the the effectiveness with the rockets since we won't be getting the precision guided APKWS. And in DCS rocket damage is pretty low, especially the splash damage. I will probably bring 16 Hellfires to take out hard armored targets and use the chain gun for soft armored targets. What do you mean? Apache can't take off with 16 hellfires and 100% fuel and gun?
  12. Yep, I heard, and also APKWS. Well, that sounds pretty bland. Btw, we should be able to carry 16 Hellfires right? without the rocket pods?
  13. So what else can we carry besides Hellfire and Hydra rockets?
  14. Hope this drawing helps.
  15. Yep. I agree. Hornet is trash. Sitting in that ugly bug feels like sitting in my grandma's car. Sitting in a Viper feels like a sitting in a sports car.
  16. Then explain this. In the graph, the higher the speed, the higher the turn rate. In the graph, best turn rate for the Hornet is achieved at 448 kts. You have to use the paddle at this speed, if you don't, the jet will just keep accelerating.
  17. In game. Yep. Isn't that the most sexy part of the jet?
  18. In game of course. That's why I didn't vote for BFM. Cuz the reasons you know.
  19. I started a poll
  20. Just interested in why people like about the F-16. Let us know! Edit: In game F-16, not the real one. Also added SEAD capability (keep in mind we don't have HTS at the moment)
  21. Proof? Paddle or not paddle? With 7.5 G limit. I doubt the hornet can match a Viper pulling 9 Gs.
  22. Hornet's FM is getting reworked as well. Its FM is overperforming at the moment. In DCS, JF rates better than the Viper and also is better at one circle. Also AI FM is simple FM. In other words, AI cheats. But it doesn't matter since a human pilot flying the JF will beat you easily as well. Viper doesn't stand a chance against any 4th gen fighter in DCS.
  23. BTW, A-10 borrowed the stick from the F-16, and the hotas functions were changed to fit the role A-10 does, air to ground. Remember, F-16 also has to do air to air, and it was designed as an air to air fighter in the first place until the air force found it's also amazing at air to ground. Tbh, F-16's hotas is probably the best among all jets in DCS. It's much easier to use compare to A-10's hotas imo.
