Look at the difference in your post and in the Video you posted, the video did say why they think cold war is better, you just bashed on the modern era... that's the whole reason I reacted as I did. I wouldn't go down that road, everyone has his own amount of free time, it differs from person to person, everyone here expressing their opinion, and spending time on forum or discord etc... is gifting something to ED and is helping ED in one way or another. You testing for ED doesn't make you better person then anyone else, you just have more free time. Your free time is your own free time and you are free to use it as you please. Modern era is not as boring as you guys are presenting it here. In fact it is quite entertaining, lots of different tactics and lots of different weapons and modes to use those weapons, and then you can do all that the Cold War way. + the Avionics and system and ... 700+ pages in those manuals, that is really not boring to me. And if you go against well defended targets you will notice that it gets quite fun and tense. Bombing tanks that don't move with no defense is boring even in Cold War era. There are problems with modern era I agree there, like the video suggested, almost no Redfor, only Jeff, planes and basically only US planes with EF coming on Blue side, problems with getting enough info to create more modules, better IADS needed etc..., but I wouldn't say its boring.

You can't really learn so many airframes at once and in depth, you can learn basics of many but only few in depth to be able to operate them on a high lvl of experience. Thats why real pilots (not test pilots) never fly more than 2 airframes, maybe 3 but thats rare, cause if they switch a lot of planes and then find them selves in a combat situation they might get confused with muscle memory and do something bad. I fly Viper and Hornet and for now its more than enough for me, I bought Apache to own a heli and to see if I'd like heli, I fly it now and and then just to reset. And I don't expect to know to use Apache on the same lvl as I know Viper and Hornet. So buying so many airframes for me is not an option, I'd rather buy maps and I think only module I'd buy next is Rafale (if the stars align the right way and we somehow get that one). So don't beat your self about it, you simply cant fly them all at the same time. But if you want to collect them all, no one is stopping you.

You guys are talking about magic ordnance and how boring that is and how you don't get to experience the cool stuff... but you are forgetting that those modern planes can deliver that ordnance the same way your cool cold war planes can and then 4 or 5 other ways to add to that one same way your cool cold war planes can deliver. There is many people that love and enjoy modern fighters, cause of their capabilities, for me it is much more fun to be focusing on Situational Awareness and sensors, and approach heading etc... rather than focusing on holding the stick, with modern planes there is many tactics involved as with cold war planes, cause there is lots of different weapons and every weapon has its way of employment. @Pikey is saying "we (the community)"... well you are not the community, and not everyone feels the same, I'm really disappointed that some one with beta tester label has so narrow minded opinions, but those are your opinions not from the whole community. This line... what do you want to say? This how it is in real life, boring to you, fun to me. Technology progressed and evolved to keep the pilots safe and do the job with precision. From what I'm reading between the lines in your post is that your mind is set in Topgun movie, explosions and dogfights... but that not real life, even real life pilots are saying that, not realistic. Yea but real pilots have really really good picture (human eye is around 576 megapixels), we have monitors with 4k (4000 pixels), notice the difference? Zoom is there to compensate for the lack of pixels, and size of screen. If it weren't for that zoom you wouldn't be able to see like real pilot does, cause of monitor size or the resolution deficit in VR.

It would be unfair to people flying on monitors to disable their zoom cause you cant even see where the enemy is, let alone flaps position in dogfight. I have 27" at 2k and I cant tell flaps position with zooming, I assume VR is some thing else, never flew in VR so I cant say.

Yes, that's true, hornet engines were used briefly, I'd say F1 standard variant was there for operational testing, and for them to see if they could use true multi-role fighter, Rafale then proved it can be quite useful and then they went with F2 variant with multi-role capabilities.

Well if that is true that's ok, maybe next time it should be communicated as it is changed, so ppl don't make a fuss about it. I guess ppl feel better when they see those features written on some kind of to-do list, Ppl are affraid they will be scammed or something, if its not there on the list. So to sum things up; You want ED to fill our SSD with pointless tracks cause you can't remeber to click save? No thanks. Make a checklist entry for your self; -Click save track upon end mission. If you are forgetting stuff those kind of notes can help. Every smart person makes notes so they don't forget stuff they need to do. That will solve your problems.

Usual command is TMS Down, while TGP screen is selected as SOI. You can press CZ or Cursor Zero on the display. Those commands will center TGP to look at the SPI.

I wouldn't take forum as reference to what people want, there are lots of people here that spam cold war but most used aircraft in multiplayer servers are F-16 and F-18, so modern era. I think most sold too but I don't have that info. My opinion is that it is better to make some other modern aircraft than Rhino, I know it is not exactly the same as Hornet but it essentially is the Hornet, carrier capable US aircraft. We have lots of US aircraft around. I'd rather see them focus on EU (Rafale, Gripen, Eurofighter is coming), Russian (MiG or Sukhoi), Chinese etc... given they can get info off course. There was a petition for Rafale, some people did it, which few thousands signed, post was somewhere on the forums, petition was elsewhere. So there are lots of people that don't think Rhino is the plane we should have. Don't get me wrong I'd love to see it, I love modern jets, but I think we could have much more use from other air frames, European, Russian, Chinese etc...

Is CAT III supposed to be this sensitive? surface sensitivity when in CATIII mode increased since last patch.

The bigger the screen the less zoom you need, if you fly on 22" ofc you will need to zoom, I play on 27" at 2k resolution and it doesn't require much zoom. I does require to zoom to see some stuff better.

With the setting he has posted the image has to be much much better, but image looks like it is taken on some other computer, Maybe remove all mods and do a repair might help

I think the issue was missed, the OP is not talking about the HSD cursor, but the SPI cross that appears on HSD, He is saying that when HUD is SOI we don't get the SPI cross on the HSD if we slew the HUD Box around.

You didn't explain the situation there, we can't tell much from that HSD image, What weapon you have selected? For example HARM will not have that cross showing on HSD If bombs, which mode are you on etc
