  1. Yes, it was pretty obvious it is lighter due to lack of systems compared to modern viper, thanks. I still think the same.
  2. We have learned that fighting which era is more popular leads to nowhere, in the end if an aircraft is not interesting to people they will keep their credit cards in their wallets, same goes with maps, devs can choose to make whatever they want, if it pays off to them it pays off, it their risk to take with modern or cold war plane, if they choose to feed the minority then let them. I took a screenshot the other day from MP server list, sorted by most players and nr.1 is cold war server followed by a lot of modern servers, ppl play what they like to play: Anyway... about F-16 blk15, I think making another variant of the same plane is not good, I like modern era, but I'd rather see some other cold war plane than another variant of a plane we already have. As we pretend to be pilots, we can pretend to be in blk15 as well.
  3. Viper has that problem since it was designed and it is well known, the front wheel had to be moved backwards cause of the intake, it is not under the pilot like with other planes, you can google picture and see for yourself, that and small distance between 2 rear wheels make Viper really prone to tipping. And yes you really need to be careful with landing specially in crosswind, it is a light fighter as you said like a toy plane, everyone has trouble landing it in crosswind. I think I never saw a "Show me your landing" thread in any plane forum section, only Viper has it. That tells a lot too
  4. So this is how GBU-24 behaves, this track is when I lased myself, it was going to fall miles short so I activated laser, (I probably released too early but... the DLZ was ok right?) the bomb picked up and flew directly to target: gbu24 self lase strange flight.trk then I let the auto lase option to do it and it didn't lase on time cause the timers were wrong: gbu24 auto lasing late.trk so this must be cause of que range set too high and we get release que well ahead of time, or we have to lase 1 min early for the bomb to fly correctly, in my test it was falling well away from the point of impact.
  5. Definitely something wrong with GBU24, it is falling way too short, I had a drop with auto lasing set at 12 sec, and when lasing started the bomb was falling short so it did catch the laser but it couldn't reach the target. (released inside DLZ) I was planning to test too, I'll do it when I have time.
  6. @Frederf I think this is what he means, that STP rectangle moves with the HTS created SPI. Noticed this a week ago too. second HAD designation on the SA6 emitter Caucasus map HTS - STP.trk
  7. This would be very good addition to Vipers datalink indeed!
  8. Also during daylight, it is better to use CCD version, H and K, which are better suited to desert environment. Leave D and G for nighttime.
  9. Track and video is in the linked post.
  10. Seems reasonable that laser fires for better ranging info when using gun. But if that is a bug, make a bug report.
  11. I did a test, set up 0% internal fuel with 2 ext tanks, it pulled the fuel from ext tanks to internal tanks (4880lbs was the total then), and when I refueled it didn't fill up to 12000lbs (AAR door open) as it does when you do AAR, it stopped with ext tanks not full, had 9895lbs when it stopped refueling. Refueling.trk
  12. In any case I think fuel in ext tanks should be filled up regardless of the amount of fuel in internal tanks, reason being those tanks are depressurized and fuel is pumped under pressure ofc, I think we should have ext tanks filled up to full. Same happens when AAR, in air those ext tanks get fully filled regardless of fuel amount in internal tanks. It should be the same on the ground. It is the same process of pumping fuel into the jet after all, just different fuel receive location.
  13. Looks like laser from his TPOD, the fact it turned off may be cause he stopped lasing that target.
  14. Yea that's what I thought, 1 leaves the FCR on while 2 disables it, they skipped and reset obviously FCR wouldn't work for them when they switched back to position 1.
  15. Wait, the beeping sound is not from ECM, it is from RWR warning you that some radar is focusing you, when ECM is transmitting the green light labeled ECM on the MASTER ARM panel will light up. Poisition 1 and 2 on the XMIT switch are for the SPJ (self protection jammer) mode and 3 is for barrage mode. No one mentions the difference between 1 and 2 on the XMIT switch, I guess 2 stops the FCR from working and 1 leaves the FCR on but with less power since FCR loses lock when ECM is transmitting, I tested it too and in position 1 FCR works, when I swtich 2 it stops, then if I go back to 1 it wont turn on.
  16. glad it worked;D Watching those videos I posted above, cant figure out from them if they filled up full or not but I saw AAR light came on on one of those jets so I guess AAR door is open, but then we can't know if they were below 2500 or not and if their ext tanks were filling up even if internals were full.
  17. Yes, because, as said above, the refuel ratio between internal and external tanks in DCS is 1:1, so as much as it goes in internal tanks goes in external tanks, and when internal tanks are full the refuel process finishes. If internals are full before ext tanks are filled up, ext tanks obviously wont be fully filled cause refueling will stop.
  18. Found this Video but I cant see if they even open the AAR door.
  19. It does work, but your internal tanks need to be below 2800lbs to have them fully refueled. If internal tanks are at for example 4000lbs it wont refuel external tanks to full load.
  20. I realized that with AAR doors open the refuel ration on the internal tanks and ext tanks is 1:1 as Frederf said, so if you want your external tanks full you should burn fuel to below 2800, then you have enough space in internals to fully refuel external as well.
  21. If you can get some private lessons from some pilot willing to teach you... otherwise I don't see any good source for military tacts. YouTubers are mostly gamers making money. Specially those that have 2 uploads per week about every possible aircraft. P.S. Learn from the guy that shoot you down, he obviously did something better;P
  22. They cant teach you good tactics, they are not real fighter jet pilots (even if they are they wouldn't be able to talk about tactics in detail), they are like you or me, just simmers. Two weeks is enough to learn the basics, but to really learn how to use the airframe will take longer than that, you have to learn capabilities of your aircraft and of your opponents as well, which kind of missiles they use vs missiles you have, how good are their radars and how to use the weak spots, also Situational Awareness etc... takes more than 2 weeks time to learn. My advice is to stick to one airframe, and learn it well, keep practicing and don't lose hope. This is a simulation, a very good one, so don't expect to have 40 kills in one sortie like in other "sims". Check real world statistics for example, you can google how many kills does aim120 have in real world and vs which opponents, you'll be surprised by the search result. Most importantly have fun!
  23. Here is their official simulator: https://www.dassault-aviation.com/en/passion/discovery/rafale-experience/
  24. Best is to do what this thread says when reporting bugs, specially something like that:
