If I were rich I would be flying Mig-29 personally owned.

And finance finally the F-16 and Mig-29 full DCS level. :) I would probably deal with BST for more modern F-5E.

Same!

Mission: "To intercept and destroy aircraft and airborne missiles in all weather conditions in order to establish and maintain air superiority in a designated area. To deliver air-to-ground ordnance on time in any weather condition. And to provide tactical reconaissance imagery" - F-14 Tomcat Roll Call

I've been saying this for years! F-20 would be great! It would be like giving that aircraft the life it never got to have!

For an aircraft that is supposedly close to an early access release I'm quite surprised at the almost complete lack of any PR or news on it. By contrast there were a number of demo flights, one by Wags himself and a Q&A as well for the Gazelle pre-release, as with most other aircraft.

Belsimtek guys are shy, that's all from what they said last time they F5 is ready (it was nearly ready a month ago) what's taking time is the manual translation from Russian to English because some of the community were weeping about the bad quality of the English manuals.

There was never since DCS is running 2 Modules for sale at the some month, at for some good reason..

I would not expect F5 before June I would surprised it come earlier..

Gazelle is a helicopter I buy it but I wont play it too much as im not a heli pilot.

So if F-5E get ou Im in for me gazelle and F-5 are for two different DCS players.

i think the F5 is ready to be released since at least two weeks. They are not releasing it in order for the Gazelle not to be hidden from a marketing point of view.

Unless you have any proof to that point id say that is very unlikely.

First because the F-5E and the Gazelle dont directly compete.

They are completely different airframes and as such they appeal to different crowds.

And also if someone is interested in both they will most likely get both as they do different things.

For example a F-16C an F-18C would compete as they both do the same tasks you would only need one of them to do those tasks.

Just as the Gazelle and BO-105 compete (both being made by Polychop)

But something like the F-5E and Gazelle most certainly dont compete as they do very different things in very different ways.

And Also i dont think ED is allowed to prioritise one 3d party Module over Another.

And how exactly would you know if the F-5E is ready for release or not? when all we have seen are pictures.

The F-5E will be released as soon as its ready and as its not released yet we can only assume its not 100% ready yet.

I do not discount the idea of module releases "waiting each other for a sort of gentleman's deal". It is not entirely unreasonable, and we are yet to see a concurrent release of multiple modules on DCS. However, that doesn't mean we have proof to believe it is so either. What I think about the issue is, it is rather pointless for us to discuss it here :).

For the F-5 itself, I think it is rather Belsimtek is waiting for their list of "issues to be fixed / features to be implemented" on F-5 before release, to be done. What we have on Belsimtek's website news piece didn't look too trivial to me, and translating a multiple hunderds page manual to English is no small feat either, and it is importnat they are doing it this time. Statement itself saying within the next month, and I that next month is May we are in. As is usual with DCS, that tend to mean end of said month, add into it the DCS constant of n+1, I expect F-5 to be ready for early access release late May- early June. I would be pleasantly surpries to have it arrive sooner though :).

I want to have F-5 as early as possible, BUT, "meh forget about manual there will be you tube vids" is NOT the rhetoric we should adopt. Belsimtek has seen their past mistakes, and taking the positive step of improving on them. To this day, there still is not a proper, finished Mi-8 manual, and I am glad they are taking that serious this time, if it means waiting a couple weeks more on module (while other features may be implemented on software side too), I will gladly wait that period.

Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V

HUH???? DCSW is ED's engine and I am almost certain ED can chose to bring forward any module with any timetable they choose. One example I would say is evidence of how ED can dictate what ever they feel is in the cancelled 3rd party project of the L-39 that the Virtual Patriots had been working on...

I believe there are several points in that post that can lean to the belief that ED reserves any rights in when and how they can control 3rd party releases.

I think you are wrong...:smartass:

Doubtful they would release two modules in one patch, not for any other reason that its a lot of risk for issues. Regardless, the reason the F-5 hasnt been released yet is its simply not ready for release.

Yes but thats not the same thing as trying to get one Module to earn money at the cost of another module.

They very much have the right to revoke someones license if they dont think they are capable of completing the product any time soon etc.

But thats not the question here.

And there is no logical reason to why they would hold back the F-5E as it wont have any significant effect on the Gazelles sales thats why i dont think they would / are doing that.

My feeling is that they want to time it with 2.5 also, but hey speculation is all over the place. Bottom line is that they're not ready to release it.

My guess for them to wait 2.5 but they said F-5E and Viggen in the first half 2016 , that mean before july.

I dont hope on that gazelle was on time though.

wrong feeling. They said it is pretty much ready and they are translating the manual. That's all.

Even if the manual is or isn't ready they can't release it by itself. They have to align it with another build(version) of DCSW. That's not to say that it will be version 2.5 though. :).

ED releases a new version every 2 weeks sometimes every week. That's not the problem. They only wait to finish the manual because of some people here always complained about the quality of the english manual... sadly... now we have to wait.
