Brisse Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I know my ISP throttles torrents back when it is recognised Not ED's fault. The best thing you can do is to contact your ISP and complain, or even get a different ISP. Any ISP that doesn't accept the principle of net neutrality doesn't deserve to have any customers. 1

SnorreSelmer Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I think it's great that BitTorrent is now the default way to recieve files, but I really hope that the downloader forwards ports via UPnP. Also, I've been seed-boxing every single DCS 1.2 update for the last year to help, and I'd gladly help seed 1.5 too, if a .torrent file could be made available. My ISP doesn't restrict torrent traffic, and I'm on a 150/150Mbit connection! Valinor Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Yeah.. always downloaded previous patches at full speed. Now it's taking hours to download something i could usually get in 10 minutes. Hope they'll fix whatever is happening.

blkspade Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 Most funny is that I have absolute opposite. Lonewolves are usually the more cooperative and people with squadron marks just don't even answer you. I guess it come down to communication skills. You should read the countless accounts of noobs and lone pilot participating greatly in the Buddy spike event. Other than that - I agree with others. Current chat sucks badly. They are good ideas behind but not practical in reality. Well there is logical explanation for this, mostly tied to how terrible text based communications are while trying to fly. I'm in a squad but will generally only reply if on the ground, or flying solo and unengaged (obviously). Only if I'm flight lead will I respond in the air in a group. Keeping formation is generally way more important. At least in a FPS you can stop and hide somewhere to respond to a message. An integrated voice system would be great (like Arma), but the sim already struggles to manage bandwidth. I actually mostly like the new chat system though. Most of the problem with it is a people problem. http://104thphoenix.com/

Gizzy Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 BitTorrent or not, the download is crazy slow.... for me, 30kb/sec... Hit the cancel button and retry overnight later when sleeping ... A standalone update seeded and pulled via software of choice would be so much quicker..

Hope they are fixing it all soon  It's based on experiences here http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2555868&postcount=25 hopefully AMD can help fix this from their end too, I've already filled in a detailed report to them via the feedback page http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D227E75EB5

HiJack Posted November 23, 2015 Posted November 23, 2015 I also filed a report but my problem is somewhat different. I'm on a 4K display and the missile smoke and contrail smoke is strange. Good performance on the card so I'm not sure whats wrong. Cleared out DCS and Saved Games with fresh install but no change. Contrails is coming out in small "dot's". Missile smoke is almost invisible, nothing like other videos published of 1.5. I even have a side computer running with a Nvidia card that works perfectly (but to slow computer).
