New A10C Campaign - SP or MP - Need your opinion

Hello fellow DCS Simmers,

 

I am in the planning stages of work on a full campaign for the A10C. The content will be at the quality of Welcome to Suse and better. My goal is 15-18 full missions with supporting documentation as in the Operation Piercing Fury Campaign provided.

 

I have gone back and forth with myself on deciding if I am going to make it free or payware, and after alot of internal debate I have decided the content will be payware. The amount of time, effort, and content I have already given to the community I feel have been appreciated and of high quality. The amount of time developing and testing these missions will take away from other priorities so subsided income to help my family is a smart choice.

 

My question to everyone is what would you like to see a SP campaign or MP campaign (2-4) players?

 

I am not bragging but many of you know my work and the dedication I put into the storyline, playability, and those "oh s**t" moments that make you remember a mission. My military expierence greatly focuses my vision for these missions.

 

I will revamp and build upon Operation Piercing Fury for the new campaign. Let me know your opinion on what you would like to see.

Great idea, Ranger79, the more quality campaigns the better! And knowing your previous works I am sure this will be top quality!

I would recommend to keep it SP with MP attached in the bundle for those who want to try it out. Probably would work best!

Single player AND 4 ship coop multiplayer please. If it was possible to replace unoccupied player planes with AI after 2 minutes into the mission, I would vote for multiplayer only.

We need more quality SP and MP campaigns and you won't regret going the payware route (plus you will be helping to add to ED's coffers so they can further develop the game engine).

It is another source of revenue for ED.

 

It's a tremendous amount of work to create these campaigns and I think most players will appreciate that and purchase them as we have already seen with the other existing payware campaigns.

Excellent decision to make a business of this. My wife and I are the proud partners in an astronomy software business that is our full time job after building for several years. Just us two, no employees. It's hard work because a successful software business is a service business not a product business. We have flexible schedules and no bosses (well my wife is the boss ha ha).

MP brother! AI is worthless unless you micromanage them.

I've never done a MP mission before. I just feel inadequate in the terminology department. Although I've flown online many, many times within FSX I just feel the military aspect of it would leave me looking stupid and not so fun to sim with.

 

So I guess I'd prefer a high quality SP campaign over anything at this point.

Single Player for me as well. That is about all I do, have been learning and now flying some combat in the KA-50, the A-10C is next module on my hit list to learn.

 

As a SP guy, very grateful for you guys that are doing this for the community!

It's much much more fun to play a campaign with friends,I think 2-ship or 4-ship is great.

Speaking as a player who has learned the fun and value of flying with a group of like minded folks my vote is for at least a multi-player option. Especially if you were able to include Huey's and A-10c's in the same mission like Welcome to the Suze. 8 A10C's and 4 Hueys would be great :)

 

I have no idea how you make MP campaigns locked so everyone has to buy it but I'm sure you all have that covered.

 

If you can pull off MP I can guarantee at least 10 sales from our group. :) :) :) Good luck and perfect choice on the Payware. All of you "hardcore" mission designers put a lot of effort into these and I have no trouble compensating you for your time!

I dream of a full on coop campaign, with DCS quality aircraft. Don't much care for which one as I own them all. :)

 

Good SP campaigns are great fun, but they can't compare to doing coop with your mates.

 

So my vote has to be for that, allow AI to control whatever aircraft are left, but please allow 3 or more to coop together. Our flight has 3 hint hint. ;)

I would love to see both. A great single player mission with immersion and triggers can be a great multiplayer mission as well, especially with 1.5+ allowing multiple clients per flight.

 

I wouldn't mind seeing a well-designed single player mission just "opened up" for multiplayer (with some triggers removed for manual coordination as required). A great SP/MP experience would be a day 1 buy for me.
