A Seafire isn't beyond the realms of possibility either. Maybe the Skiyhawk. Phantom, Buccaneer, may become more compelling, and get that extra little push into reality they lack right now. We can dream I guess, but carrier operations at the level of realism we have in DCS World - now that IS a lure for a lot more customers.

A Hornet without the Harpoon wouldn't make much sense, but we'd need the supporting fleet first (e.g. Sovremenny, Udaloy destroyer classes, some frigates like Krivak class, perhaps updated/new models of Slava and Kirov classes, etc.). somebody make Mig-29K please...... Which one? The old prototypes (9.31) which were tested on the Kuznetsov class never went into the production, while the new K's are radically different (based on the new M/M2 series with the unified canopy) and probably too new to simulate (the Russian variant is not in service yet). Let us remember, the only thing they said was that we could walk around on detailed Carrier. They didn't say, that we cut operate these systems as I understood (hope I´m wrong). Although it would be fatastisk if many of these wet dreams came true. Perry, Slava) has no antisubmarine weapons functionality (torpedo, rockets, VLS weapons), no ECM and countermeasures on ships (deployed and towed). Future: Tomcat, Hornet, Harrier, (probably) Corsair, Bearcat, (maybe) Vampire, (maybe) Hawk (if somebody does a Goshawk mod). Back in the LOMAC days, there was a MiG-29K mod, and an Su-25UTG. CheckGear Posted January 30, 2016 Posted January 30, 2016 For the Nimitz class, I'm thinking probably island and O-3 through hangar bay deck only, which would give us ready rooms, the dirty shirt wardroom, catapult/ arresting gear spaces, CATCC, CVIC, SSES, CDC, Maintenance Control, Strike Ops Planning, and various shops. Oh, and the barber shop, the f'o'c'sl, and the TV studio. And 2 of the three gyms. As soon as you drop below the hangar bay things get horrifyingly complex very, very quickly, with all the divisional offices, machinery spaces, switchboard rooms, mess decks fore and aft, main medical, the bowling alley... So, if you don't go to the gym, the plane becomes harder to fly? :megalol:

Because Case I/ Case III recoveries, marshalling, sorting who to launch when, and respotting the deck for launches and recoveries will quickly turn into a nightmare for any player who hasn't completed at least an XO tour on a carrier. Visited the old ship 2 years ago..funny how your perception changes. I remember the bridge, think it was the 0-3 level and remembering it too be much larger. The inertial navigation plot table as I also remember was actually small compared to what I remember. I found my initials I had scratched underneath the air search radar repeater. LOL Prior to this I spent 2 years in Vietnam. Carrier time is very interesting. At this time the Hornet was part of an anti-submarine warfare group. We also picked up the Apollo space capsule. 1

Drag0nWIng Posted January 31, 2016 Posted January 31, 2016 Well, the actually different between such many type of carries in the (real) world (for the pilot in DCS world) is the catapult, some type of carries have it, some others doesn't have it. You konw, the carrier is just a floating runway over the sea. If we can have two different ways to take off from carrier is totally enough for now environment(we only have few navy fighter for now, the key point is the airplane). I don't think it will have more fun to run a whole giant ship by one person than fly a bird at MP mission, there are over 5000 ppl in the nimitz or over 2000 ppl in the kuznetsov. The programmer team have much more important project need to be finished. Let them finished them and build more bird at first.

Aside from 76 and 77, they're all pretty much identical in terms of hull form any island. Interior for any of the class will be the same.
