Remember, the 3rd parties has none control of any version release, They can put estimations, not deadlines. ED need build the appropriate version with a new beta, test them and hunt bugs, resolve them, build the installers and check the installers work properly into DCS: W appropriate version. if something get a delay, we only can take care and wait for news.

Just saying we have been told 1st half 2016 for many things, yet most have no real indication of progress yet, bar the Gazelle. ED used the term will also be launched not may also be launched for those things.

Since my time to enjoy DCS is very limited by my job and my kids (or future wingmen :music_whistling:) just a short question for the testers if they can tell or make an educated guess...

Are 1.5.x and 2.0.x are compatible enough to continue a started Red Flag campaign after the merge into 2.5 by using my current logbook?

i9 9900K @ 5,0GHz | 1080GTX | 32GB RAM | 256GB, 512GB & 1TB Samsung SSDs | TIR5 w/ Track Clip | Virpil T-50 Stick with extension + Warthog Throttle | MFG Crosswind pedals | Gametrix 908 Jetseat

We can suppose by ED info, 1.5.X and 2.0.X get terminate (and not compatible) with the 2.5 version as release, similar to the old 1.2.X turn on 1.5 version.

I still dont see any firm release dates there. We all have been here long enough to know things happen. They are doing their best to get all this out as soon as they can. But the more you guys take this stuff as written in stone, the less information they are going to want to share. (complaining about the F-86 seems a little silly too... seeing as we can all purchase it today if we havent already)

Ok, so thanks, you havent been given any firm dates. That's all I wanted to know.

Guys, the more you complain about supposed missed dates... the thinner the information is gonna get that is released to us. Its as simple as that. You are gonna make the devs scared to even hint at anything, you can see that already.

This isnt exactly true. ED wont build a new version for a new release, if that new release isnt ready and supplied to ED in a state that can be added to the sim. The release of a 3rd Party add-on is up to the 3rd Party getting it ready to be release, it would only take a short time for ED to turn around and add it to the sim as a early access version.

Some 3rd Parties rely on ED Testing Team, some do their own (in which case only basic installer level testing is up to ED).

SO bottomline is, 3rd Parties dictate their release date, ED might only slow that up by the next available version, which can be done fairly quickly in most cases (things may have slowed with the addition of EDGE and 1.5/2.0 being so complex)

Looking forward to the improved terrain, clouds and explosions.

And of course the net code!

Maybe I missed this but does someone know exactly what improved terrain means?

They havent released any info on it yet.

Tesselated mountains and new textures for buildings would be great. Caucasus looks great even now so I'm very interested in how they want to improve it even further.

Do, or do not, there is no try.
