"On Steam, fly the F/A-18C Hornet, F-16C Viper, A-10C Warthog, F-5E Tiger II, Persian Gulf Map and all DCS World War II products for free during a two-week period from April 19th to May 3rd."

Hi all

This is what steam have agreed to regarding the free trial. I believe with steam they can only do two week blocks.

Thanks

What about 1 month trial, is it for steam users?

Also 50% sale (next month) is it also for steam users?

Good thing is you can always download DCS from ED and try the modules stand alone before going back to Steam.

It's still does not clean/clear to me: Free trial coming only for Steam users (two weeks ? )

and for ED-Server users ? A month free trial (again?) with all the modules/maps ?

Will we have immediate access to all modules or do we have to download the ones we want to try?
You will need to download the modules that you want to try

1) Does this means only above modules in Steam are free to test while others are not?

2) All modules (excluded F-14B and AJS-37 Viggen) have 50% discounts including campaigns?

No, as per first paragraphs of the Newsletter, ED-shop users get a 1 month trial for everything except Heatblur modules and campaigns.

Steam users get only a two-week trial for a few chosen modules (at least for now, the rest will follow later, as per BN's comment above).

That is probably the only unclear part for me. Tomcat and Viggen are out of free test and sale or they are available for test but not for sale?

It is little bit confusing as the text (even at the news on the main page) is somehow mixing test part and shop part

Truth to be told, Magz probably just copied the description from the official ED video channel, where the same error is still there, but yeah, 19th it is.

Question

What version of the DCS World will get the free trial event? Stable, Beta or both? I'm a Steam costumer but I'm about to download ED-shop's version of the client.

Posted (edited)

Well, Thanks SO much ED! it is a very gracious offer 1 full month of free stuff.

Thank you, really apreciate it.

And hopefully it will bring new blood to the ring also.

Now got to go try some stuff out!!!
