You can buy the Warthog stick (includes the base), for $200 on Amazon right now.

 

Why wouldn't they include the base? This is just being marketed to previous Warthog owners and inflating the price?

 

 

I've been flying around with a Soviet-style stick on a White Russian base...then for grins and giggles I did a quick hop on my Warthog stick...ugh. You don't know how bad it is until you try something that's not bad at all.

 

 

 

I will probably pass on the new Thrustmaster product and use the shekels on a VKB throttle if it gets out of development while I'm still around. Getting used to the Soviet style layout was surprisingly easy and the extra controls on the stick are pretty nice.

I was considering this when it was first announced. However with the price point where it is, if the WinWing Hotas performs as well as it looks, then I will likely use the money towards that and look to sell on my Warthog Hotas.

I'll skip my turn for now, too bad. I rather grab my wallet for a full F/A-18C HOTAS setup, which would include the real throttle area.

Yep. Despite owning the Warthog for many years that hit still hurts. It's a lot of money to most people. However I am willing to make a bad financial decision .......again.....if they make the throttle.

This whole half arsed approach to making the stick doesn't sit right.

I guess they need to recover some dev costs first and see how the market runs. Probably won't see a better deal for some time. The Throttle-only price is what really hurts.

Slid in there when it was at $169 earlier on Amazon. VPC T-50 base and Sahaj 15cm extension are ready and waiting.

For me, as much as I like the F-18 Stick - the problem is the base design. As long as they supply such an inferior base system (IMHO) no further TM purchases for me.

 

ps: I've been a TM owner since the very first stick/base releases so what's that - over 20 years?

 

TM have dropped the ball in the Flight Sim business.

 

I'm thinking of the F-18 Stick on my VKB base but . . . . have to use different systems. WH Throttle + VKB Stick and have to wait and see what VKB do if anything for an adaptor plus what programming can be done with this combo if it becomes available.

Pretty sure that 25% discount applies to the purchase of the DCS F-18 Hornet sim, .. not the TM F-18 stick.

I preordered from Amazon, haven’t been charged yet. With Amazon Prime card, you get 5% money back plus great return policy so it’s a no brainer to me.
