FoxAlfa Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 Hello, in the last weeks news letter is was stated:"On 10 October we will release the updated MiG-29 Fulcrum for Flaming Cliffs 3! This will include a Professional Flight Model (PFM), updated cockpit, and several new cockpit system functions" I guess the SPO-15 is finally getting fixed, but is there info which new cockpit system functions will we get? I guess in the line with other FC3 AC the AP lights will start working? Any additional info? I know the that the nav info has been a sore point of the MiG-29 HUD repeater update.... ------- All the people keep asking for capabilities to be modelled.... I want the limitations to be modelled.... limitations make for realistic simulation. Arguing with an engineer is like wrestling with a pig in the mud, after a bit you realize the pig likes it. some1 Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 My guess is that they will mostly fix the broken/not working items in the MiG to make it more in line with the other aircraft. Like a working baro adjustment, AP lights that you've mentioned etc. We'll know in two days :) Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

JunMcKill Posted October 8, 2018 Posted October 8, 2018 I hope they found info about the real mode to select two aircraft, and launch the R-77 with no lock on one of them (only MIG-29S). ARH missiles doesn't need a lock to be launched. In the F-15, is only reduced the radar scan area, to send the AIM-120C more accurate in TWS
lmp Posted October 9, 2018 Posted October 9, 2018 It's interesting we've been given almost no info up until release pretty much.
Pasquale1986 Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 No mention in the Changelog, too. Just PFM added... Main Module: AH-64D Personal Wishlist: HH-60G, F-117A, B-52H
HiJack Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 No mention in the Changelog, too. Just PFM added... I hope they have fixed the cockpit lighting at least!
drack Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Are we sure the PFM is added? I dint see it in the changelog?

FoxAlfa Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Is the SPO-15 at least working? Shadoga Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Airbrake is still working for all variants - but no longer as long as centerline fueltank is mounted. Jettison tank and airbrake will work again. Dunno if this is realistic, but if so - nice restriction to feature!

Jettison tank and airbrake will work again. Dunno if this is realistic, but if so - nice restriction to feature! I recall reading the MiG-29 Yugoslav manual there was some restrictions when the fueltank was carried, vaguely I recall something to do with the air-brake so it could be a realistic restriction but don't quote me on that yet, need to recheck. ------- All the people keep asking for capabilities to be modelled.... Rudel_chw Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Have not yet had time to test it thoroughly, but I can see changes on the Autopilot, the old keybinds were: Autopilot = {a} Autopilot-Route_following = {LALT 6} Autopilot-Altitude_And_Roll_Hold = {LALT 2} Autopilot-Attitude_Hold = {LALT 1} Autopilot-Barometric_Altitude_Hold = {LALT 4} Autopilot-Barometric_Altitude_Hold_'H' = {h} Autopilot-Radar_Altitude_Hold = {LALT 5} Autopilot-Transition_To_Level_Flight_Control = {LALT 3} Autopilot_Reset = {LALT 9} the new ones are: Autopilot = {a} Autopilot-'Path_Control' = {LALT 5} Autopilot-Attitude_Hold = {LALT 4} Autopilot-Barometric_Altitude_Hold = {LALT 3} Autopilot-Barometric_Altitude_Hold_'H' = {h} Autopilot-Damper = {LALT 1} Autopilot-Ground_Collision_Avoidance = {LALT 2} Autopilot-Reapproach = {LALT 6} Autopilot-Transition_To_Level_Flight_Control = {LALT 7} Autopilot_override = {LSHF a} Autopilot_Reset = {LALT 9} Decrease_Min_Altitude = {LCTL .} Increase_Min_Altitude = {LCTL ,} and the buttons are animated and its lights work: The airbrake works, tough I feel that it doesnt bleed-off speed as much as previously: Now the intake louvers work too, they open on the ground when the FOD screens are down: The HSI and ADI are now illuminated ... previously they were dark even if the rest of the panel was lighted: The new cockpit is gorgeous, in my opinion, much more realistic: I'm re-training on the type, so will make more comments after I've flown her a while :) I'm so happy with this FREE upgrade ... cant wait to see what ED will do with the Blackshark. Vatikus Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Cockpit is a lot to be desired... chaff/flare counter is still not working after forever, stick not aligned properly, etc... I really hope this is just a WIP.
Goa Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 as someone stated, the new cockpit was a "rush" job , probably just to meet with MAC requirments CPU : Intel i7 8700k@5.0ghz cooled by Noctua NH-D15 / Motherboard:Asorck Z370 Taichi / RAM: 32GB GSkill TridentZ @3600mhz / SSD: 500GB Nvme Samsung 970 evo+1 TB Sabrent Nvme M2 / GPU:Asus Strix OC 2080TI / Monitor: LG 34KG950F Ultrawide / Trackir 5 proclip/ VIRPIL CM2 BASE + CM2 GRIP + F148 GRIP + 200M EXTENSION /VKB T-Rudder MKIV rudder /Case: Fractal Design R6 Define black
Ironhand Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 Unless I'm missing it, it doesn't look like the navigation panel has been animated. So the nav issues continue, unfortunately. I had been hoping... Just had time today for a quick 10 minute flight and she's an entirely new bird in the air. Noticed changes to the autopilot system in the controls menu. Much more enjoyable to fly. Dudikoff Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) I have to check the new autopilot options, but the new FM fixed the silly roll rate available at slight deflections. I usually fly the MiG-29S quick-mission to test the joystick axis settings so when I decided to try out the Hornet after that, I first thought there was something wrong with my joystick as the roll response was much weaker. They also forgot to include the manual, but the module can actually be force-installed already and both English and Russian manuals are included. Rudel_chw Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 ... They also forgot to include the manual, but the module can actually be force-installed already and both English and Russian manuals are included. How can I do that? ... I'd like to have a look at the manual :) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
Dudikoff Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 (edited) From the DCS World bin folder: dcs_updater.exe install MIG-29 So, I guess there's no more route following AP mode? "Path control" sounds like it, but it says it's not implemented. I'm not sure which cockpit button it would correspond to, but if these two modes are not implemented, why have key controls assigned for them at all? Perhaps a future update? I didn't spot anything else new in the manual besides the AP pages. FoxAlfa Posted October 10, 2018 Author Posted October 10, 2018 Looking at the Silver Dragons video of the cockpit animation: I noticed two things... nav panel has lights animated.... so we will probably get them in the future update... and also more interesting the radio channel dial is also animated.... so we might get radio channel switching in the future? ------- All the people keep asking for capabilities to be modelled.... Kappi Posted October 10, 2018 Posted October 10, 2018 In the manual p.49 (PDF p.55) is the TWS2 mode described which enables you to attack 2 targets simultaneously with R-77. Did somebody try it out already? ___________________________________________ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Looking forward to it, Belsimtek!
