My guess here is the ME is the oldest code in DCS. Likely created first as a tool to test the sim by setting up missions. If so, it's likely a spaghetti bowl of brittle code that no one wants to touch. There's a reason we don't have the most basic QOL features ... It's not that ED doesn't want them; the time, effort and risk to deliver them far outweigh the their value when compared to other revenue generating tasks. Therefore they are quite happy someone is tackling the ME as a mod. I know I certainly am. 4 System Specs: Spoiler Callsign:Kandy Processor:13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900K - RAM: 64GB - Video Card: NVIDIA RTX 4090 - Display: Pimax 8kx VR Headset - Accessories: VKB Gunfighter III MCG Ultimate, VKB STECS Standard, Thrustmaster TPR Pedals, Simshaker JetPad, Predator HOTAS Mounts, 3D Printed Flight Button Box Video Capture Software: Open Broadcaster Software (OBS), Video Editing Software: PowerDirector 365 Into The Jungle Apache Campaign - Griffins Kiowa Campaign - Assassins Thrustmaster TWCS Mod

Key commands are the same as in Windows: Ctrl C for copy, Ctrl V for pasting. It will paste everywhere your mouse pointer is located, and it copies all the aspects of the unit you just laid down - heading, type, aspects...havent tried this in a while either, but fairly certain you can copy more than one unit too with click and highlight. Doesnt just work for static objects either, does everything. Doesnt just work for static objects either, does everything. I am aware of it, once you put HESCO (lets say 100) and other objects, you may want to move it, selecting object with CTRL would not work perfectly, if you have any mistake during the click (which I have it alot in 4K resolution with small objects) the objects can be deselected! it would be nice to have simple select all by mouse drag like many others GUI applications, however this is not about selecting, but moving the entire group, you can move the entire group by moving the 1 unit in the group in ME. hecne if you have 100 objects in a single group, you can move the entire group by just moving the 1st unit however the Static objects doesnt accept more than 1 unit in group or actyually there is not any group. I am aware of the functionality, thats the selecting and copy/pasting from/within diffrent or same terrain. BUT, For instance when you place HESCO barriers (let's say 100) and other objects, you might want to move them. However, selecting objects with CTRL does not work perfectly. If there's any mistake during the click(which happens to me often, especially in 4K resolution with small objects) the objects can become deselected. It would be nice to have a simple 'select all' feature by mouse dragging, like in many other GUI applications. However, the issue isn't just about selecting; it's about moving the entire group. In the ME, you can move the entire group by moving one unit within that group if you move the 1st object in the group. Hence, if you have 100 objects in a single group, you can move the entire group by just moving the first unit. However, static objects do not support grouping more than one unit, or actually, there isn't any group feature for them. and If you didnt already comperhand my point and if you want example, please try to move this: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3332419/ Edited February 13, 2024 by Raviar 3

N0L3R Posted March 9, 2024 Posted March 9, 2024 Hello all ! Not sure if this has already been requested but, I think a nice feature would be to be able to put a random number of units between a certain range. For example 5-10 trucks so that when you go for the combat zone, you're not really sure how many there are 1

For example 5-10 trucks so that when you go for the combat zone, you're not really sure how many there are This is easily doable in ME as is, but the interface makes it more work than it has to be. There are many similar cases where a feature to directly control variability in some aspect of a mission would be nice to have. Along with group size, things like weapons carried, positions, and routes would be great parameters to make uncertain to the players participating in a mission. One good way to enable this might be the inclusion of variables in the ME. We can use variables indirectly with scripts, but having them built into the ME itself would make things much easier for mission builders. 2 Awaiting: DCS F-15C Win 10 i5-9600KF 4.6 GHz 64 GB RAM RTX2080Ti 11GB -- Win 7 64 i5-6600K 3.6 GHz 32 GB RAM GTX970 4GB -- A-10C, F-5E, Su-27, F-15C, F-14B, F-16C missions in User Files
Mav87th Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 More control over Speed and Timing on waypoints. Fx. ability to lock the time on two waypoints (should then automatically adjust the speed between them) ability to set a speed of IAS in Mph for WWII planes. Ability to set speed time depended on a chosen climb rate between two waypoints. Example you want a group of P-47's to climb between two waypoints at 500 ft/min and 160 mph ias. then the time of the second steerpoint should adjust automatically or if that steerpoint is locked the first steerpoint time should adjust. Would give a ton more management of AI in larger scenarios and much better control over how the AI's are flying the missions. 3
michelip Posted March 17, 2024 Posted March 17, 2024 More realism by creating object-specific damage modelling, e.g. for Trains (locomotives) jets of white steam preceding boiler bursts. For Ships, Bow or stern rising up, ship rolling as it sinks. For airborne Planes, the ability to set a trigger action for smoke emission as result of damage, rather than just a sudden explosion. WW2 Gun Cam footage shows that strikes from aerial machine guns or cannon most often cause smoke and /or fire before an aircraft's total destruction. A smoke emission action would also be useful applied to other moving objects. More static objects. We have been using the same old objects for years now and although external mods are good, they can cause problems as DCS updates. We need more modern (and WW2) unarmed figures in various postures, ideally making small movements (like some of the carrier personnel now available). Also, why not include the various in-game vehicles and other object as placeable in M.E? They already exist, so how difficult can it be to make them placeable for us? 2

Best DM is for WW2 - they can leak fuel, hydraulic fluid, emit steam from punctured radiator, emit black smoke from engine/oil fire or normal smoke from airframe/fuel. Jets/helis have only good enough DM. Ships and ground vehicles are worst offenders here but they also smoke when damaged. btw: This doesn't have much to do with ME. Tom P Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Some sort of concrete pad static object so we can make turn around points for road bases. That way people can land on a road and turn around without getting stuck in the ground. 4 1
Tom P Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 nullA "select all" option for individual payload restrictions or even a master select all option. Instead of clicking hundreds of individual weapons, per aircraft. null 5
Tom P Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 Not trying to sound needy with the constant posts.. Sorry not sorry. Static objects adding multiple unit numbers instead of copy pasting every single one. About to spend the next couple hours copy/pasting these perfectly together inline when it could just be done by adding X amount of the unit. I know some static objects can do this but this would be great if you could do it to all. I think every mission maker can agree that this would be insanely appreciated. MAKE IT HAPPEN NOWnull 7
