Question: center or right have side stick

Ok who all fly the viper with a side stick like the real thing or do you fly it with a center stick like most fighters? I’m not sure how to do a poll here.

I use center stick, because thats my mounted setup. At some point, I will get the pressure base and put my warthog stick on that and mount it to the side. Then use the hornet stick in the center mount.

Side stick. Actually a FSSB R3 Lighting with the 12 degree axis offset just like the real thing. Feels great! I use a centre stick for most other aircraft.

Well, I think that you have better access to the desk with side stck. But that's just my opinion.

I use a stock TM Warthog side stick for the F-16C and A-10C and a Hornet grip on a VPC T-50 base with an extension and a desk mount, for everything else.

If I had to choose one, I'd keep the one in the middle, for the added precision.

I use a center stick since 3 out of the 4 modules I fly (F-5, F/A-18, F-14, F-16) use them. I'm not going to shift my mount just for the Viper, even if it isn't quite realistic.

I use a side stick setup - RealSimulator FSSB R3 Lighting force sensing base + RealSimulator F16SGRH - Collector's Edition. The stick includes the forward tilt built in.

If you fly only viper, then side stick. If you fly others too, center.

 

I had couple years a side mounted stick, and returned after all that time to center, and really prefer the center stick.

I have tried to do side stick, but for some reason it is too awkward to me. So, I have finally settled on keeping it centered out of convenience and comfort.

Lol. I'm the opposite. Cant fly center because it's not comfortable at all for me.

Side stick for all of my birds... Much better access to the keyboard and desktop for me. Been flying that way in sims for years, so rather used to it by now... :-)

Interesting lol. I don't know could be just muscle memory for me using center stick. But, I haven't had any luck getting used to the side stick. I might give it another try though, couldn't hurt lol.

Same as Javelina1 - have always used side stick, have the stick turned a little on the desk mount to offset it not being in the center. Makes for better access to the keyboard and MFD's in my setup.

Side stick all the time, easier access to the keyboard, MFD's and mouse. It's pretty natural feeling now.

 

Maybe one day if I build a pit I can do both...

picked up the rssb v3 lighting just before the viper released. Best thing ever!

I use side stick as I use my PC for other needs and the side stick controller allows for less infrastructure to setup. The option is totally up to you!

Side stick with the FSSB Lighting base for the Viper- awesome!.

 

VKB ctr stick for everything else.

Limited by my desk, my stick roughly sits at where the right MFD usually is, except for the Viper wherein it is like half a metre behind my stick.

I have both. I have a center Stick Warthog Base with Hornet Stick and a Side-mount Warthog Base with a Cougar Stick. ( I scored a "Broken Warthog on ebay for a song. 1 wire in base cold solder joint.)
