I honestly couldn’t tell any difference from the picture.

Need to see it in game.

Shame, not including any sale announcements, carry on and wait for Friday...

Maybe, but trust me, you'll notice it right away. It's freakin' gorgeous.

No, those are waves near the coast, we are talking about a completely new water rendering here, in all maps 🙂

oh yeah.. the reflections. Man, can't wait to load up the game tonight. If it's true then they fixed it to how it was in 2.5, albeit probably with much better quality..  Suhweet!

Amazing update with so much good stuff. However, the coastal wave animations appear to be broken for me. On the Mariana's the surf is frozen and doesn't move. Anyone else seeing this?

I see the images of MAXsenna which downloads has almost
of 62 MB / s second, I would like to download this
speed because despite that I have the fiber I do not exceed 4 MB / s and 1 hour 40 minutes to download the file, I wonder where the problem is!🤔

Yup, currently being faster than STEAM and MSFS updates. And downloads from that other F-16 sim are done in the blink of the eye.
Could be that many users in Norway are on fiber if we still download by .torrents?

Like I've written elsewhere, I would not mind at all keeping it as a mirror/download source for others if it was possible.

Just tested several "instant action" missions with aircrafts / helis with my Reverb G2 in VR with the following settings:

  • OpenVR FSR ("renderScale": 0.75, "sharpness": 0.75, "radius": 0.5),
  • DCS no MSAA, PD 1.0
  • SteamVR beta (forced DX11, resolution per eye 120%, motion smoothing ON)
  • 10700k 32 GB with only GTX 1070 (!).

The results in short: BEST visuals to date.

I have no idea why ED doesn't say anything about shader fine tuning in the release notes, but the lighting, the overall athmosphere rendering and the clarity are way better.

Even in the menus the text are totally different.

If this quality will be at least this good then I'll wait for the Vulkan engine remake much more patiently. 😉

Edit: specification detailed

Hmmm I’ve been using custom DNS servers for as long as I can remember, and don’t have any issues with download speed…

So if I understood correctly 4MB / s is good and it is normal?

It completely depends on the bandwidth you've got available.

Bandwidth is usually given in MBit/s, but a more usable unit would be MByte/s, where 8 Bit = 1 Byte, 8 MBit = 1 MByte and so on.

So for a 100 MBit/s fiber connection, the absolute top speed you could expect would be 12.5 MByte/s.

And the other way around, if you have a 32 MBit/s connection, then 4 MByte/s is maxing it out. If your connection has more bandwidth available, then 4 MByte/s is not maxing it out. But it's also worth noting that bandwidth is of course shared across all your devices (PCs, notebooks, tablets, smartphones, consoles, TV boxes, and whatnot), and that fast download rates  often also depend on things beyond your control; for instance, some Internet Service Providers might share bandwidth across multiple customers, so if your neighbors are currently downloading and streaming a lot, you might not get fast downloads, no matter what you try.

Plus, even if you're just downloading, it still takes a bit of upstream for your PC to communicate with the server and the download peers. So if you're not downloading anything else at all, but are currently uploading something big and maxing out your upload bandwidth, this might actually choke your download speeds.

That said, I tend to get very good download rates with DCS ever since they switched over to Torrent as the primary distribution protocol.
