I have it running on pretty high settings with an  Ryzen 5 5600x and a rtx 4080 on a Reverb G2. My fps are locked at 45 now and nothing I tried let it drop below that which is nice. The reduced loading times are cool as well.

Prior to MT, I have always been informed to disable SMT. Now that DCS is MT, should it be re-enabled?

edit: Or maybe it was hyper-threading

Same here. I saw some slight improvement with my i9 9900k at 5.1  GHz all cores (no HT). Runningn in VR with Open XR.

Going to enable HT now and see if I see a perceivable difference.

Same story. MT preview probably doesn't support SteamVR?🙄

Going in the right direction, I have gone from 55 FPS to 65 FPS, FPSVR CPU graph has gone from just into the orange above the middle line, to all green just below the middle line, but unfortunately it is stuttering like mad.

So, I'll be honest. I'm seeing zero performance increase in either Syria Free Flight or Caucasus ready on the ramp Hornet. I appreciate this isn't really the use case for MT, however. But the terrain shadows performance issue does now appear to be fixed!

same here, max 15fps more. But I had good fps anyway plus a brand new cpu. Yes started it via the new .exe

Still happy! hoping for more complex MP missions

As per FAQ:

Should I enable HT / SMT in my motherboard BIOS?
Currently, users with more than 32 threads should disable HT/SMT, but for everyone else we recommend enabling HT/SMT.

Pancake player here, most settings high, ultra clouds.

Fired up an A-10 in a known good scenario with pre recorded FPS points, +25 FPS in cockpit (on 12 cores) and 35+ FPS gains in F2 view, on Syria Map, flying around Ramat David and around busy town geography, I mean street level looking at windows in buildings.

Basically I went from 45 FPS in cockpit on ground, to 65.

In the air, low level flying over towns and cities on Syria averaging 75 to 80 FPS. High altitude 90 to 100 FPS.

Look AT THIS MT!! Fantastic job ED!!!

Ok enabled HT and yes saw some slight improvement versus not having it enabled. Reckon though I am going to need a new mb/cpu. Trying to hold off till after first of year 2024. The DCS FPS screen shows I am CPU bound on main thread, both with HT off ( 8 cores) and with HT On ( 16 threads).

Slight improvement, but an improvement nonetheless.

I have 3 benchmark missions I've made, I only play in VR

1: P47 CAS outside of Carentan, some ground units fighting it out, giving support
2: 124 plane dogfight, 60 P47s vs 64 109s and Fw190s
3: Massed modern BVR fight some 32 F16s against 40 MiG21s and MiG29s

1. Saw a decent amount of improvement, this mission was well, unplayable, each time ground units fired the screen would freeze for a nanosecond, the VR screen could not follow and there was black borders everywhere. But now with TM it was playable, I doubt I had fantastic FPS, but it was playable.
2. Big initial improvement with a very smooth feeling when flying in formation with 60 P47s, when the fighting started, it became less nice, but still defiantly some improvement, as it wasn't directly uncomfortable anymore. and framerate was "good enough" as to not affect situational awareness or aiming.
3. Rather disappointing as this mission saw no improvement where I needed it, once those 132 Spanraams go flying off the F16s, it becomes a slide show, for about 30 seconds to a minute, you are just sitting there, unable to do anything but wait until it's over.

Next, I'll test some gattlig guns.

I don't even know if my motherboard/CPU has HT or SMT, can't find anything when I google it.

Steam, Varjo Aero, 13900k, 4090 User here. After updating and first MT start I got the following error in the logs:

ERROR   VISUALIZER (27432): xrBeginFrame 1000009404.352429 failed with error: XR_ERROR_RUNTIME_FAILURE

To fix this, I had to disable OpenXR compatibility in Varjo Base. Otherwise DCS didn't render anything.
Now it seems to work perfectly. I even getthe OpenXR overlay from the companion app, which is strange, because i thought it should be disabled now.

But anyway it works now and performance is really good so far. But could also be due to the fact that with the openXR companion app I have enabled Fixed foveated rendering and NIS scaling and stuff.

Also created a quick start mission with max. number of red and blue AIs, and performance is still between 80-90 fps.
I will keep an eye on it and do some more testing.

Done some lightweight F-16 training and, well, this is what we all wanted. Performance issues are mostly gone, it started to stutter towards the end of the AIM-9 training, but it didn't happen anywhere else. If this becomes a reproducible issue I'll report it, I'd say, looks pretty good for the first public release.

Is anyone else having an issue with getting their VR screen to recenter using the Valve Index and MT?  Using the overlay, my screen will recenter (play area) just fine with the update without MT, but when I start using the MT exe, when DCS Starts, my view is in the middle of the mig with the home screen off to my right.  I cannot recenter the screen using the Valve UI or any other means I have tried.  I do have the extension on the command line, and since the Valve is not supported (to my knowledge) using XR, I am at a loss.

System Specs: System Specs: MSI Tomahawk Z590 wifi, I9 11900K Processor, 64gb Corsair Vengance 3600mhz ram, 3080 Nvidia Video Card, Windows 11 Pro, 2 Samsung NVMe SSD (2tb and 1 tb), Valve Index VR system
