Not dismissing that other people aren't seeing it, just sharing screens to help show it. Two visible "seams" to the cloud layer looking different directions. Information bar included in shots to help narrow down location/direction to look. Also included a screenshot of the Mission Editor setup for any further setup parameters that might be needed.

As mentioned, it's far less apparent than the shot I originally quoted, so if this lesser example is expected or normal that's okay with me too, just appeared at first blush like the sort of thing that was being requested. 😅

Edit: also meant to add, I run zero motion blur inside of DCS.

As a big fan of Bandits work here a few more screenshots all using his weather mod, the repaints are not released yet in user files but done by my good friend VirginCustoms.

Hat in hand - this issue appears to have been a result of me running a mod to "increase cloud quality" that I forgot I had even enabled. (The graphics files have an unselectable quality one step higher, the mod just re-enables that as part of increasing view distance.) I stepped back to the default highest cloud quality and the issue is gone.

Thanks again for the mod, and sorry for the false report!

Request: Could you please add cumulonimbus clouds? I think they'd make for a great-looking cloud shape in screenshots.

We need ED to work on the back end cloud rendering system to get cloud shapes like that. I've already pushed the current engine to its limits in terms of what's possible. That being said, I have made some improvements to thunderstorms and lightning for the next update.

That looks phenomenal. Would be great to get some more realistic-looking lightning 🙂

I'm working on some big changes for the next update including some minor improvements to lightning. Lightning is kind of tricky since its tied to the "Thunderstorm" precipitation type. I'd like to be able to enable it for certain cloud presets but I haven't come up with any way to do that yet. It's probably locked up in the weather.dll.

Not sure why but OVGME/ModManager do not pickup this zip file 😕

Been asked/requested multiple times: names of the zip and the folder inside don't match.

Just drop the extracted folder into the OVGME mods folder. Not the sleekest solution, but it is what it is.

No.

Testing now, downloaded mod zipped with good path inside, copied it in my OvGME mod folder, it doesn't appear in mod manager ......... Have to unzip it

As I said in my earlier post, the only requirement is that the name of the archive must exactly match the name of the folder inside that archive.

If you download this particular mod and rename it from "bandit648_Weather_Mod_v2.0.zip" to "bandit648 Weather Mod v2.0.zip", OvGME will pick it up just fine.

I admit I never used the zip method with OvGME. Any real and practical advantage of it compared to extracted folders? I mean, size difference is usually negligible (at least in mods I use). Loading times maybe - but the game must unzip the archive anyway, doesn't it?

The OvGME zip format allows you to add a Description and version number to each Mod, which is helpful when your Mod collection grows:

Thank you, that's a cool feature indeed.

I don´t use .zip with OVGme i just label my folders with the version number so i can track updates etc. It´s another way of do it.

And thumbnails.
Another nice to have is the portability.

OvGME doesn't have that feature, its succesor (which I don't use) does 🙂

Aaaahh! My bad. I was so sure OvGME had it as well, because I remember repacking mods with description. I guess Open Mod Manager has been around long now, that I thought the feature even was in OvGME.

You answered it yourself: the extraction part can be avoided.

Some unarchivers, depending on their settings, may extract the archive into another folder which contains the folder you need to use with OvGME. So it could be confusing to some people, and would require extra steps and cleanup afterwards. Compared to just moving whatever you've downloaded to wherever your mods folder is.

As I said before, my suggestion to make this mod's archive OvGME-friendly is just that, a suggestion. Not a demand or criticism.

It's just unusual that the creator made everything inside the archive ready for OvGME, and then decided not to take the very last step and name that archive appropriately.
