I noticed this as well.  Even with fuel set as low as possible.  I tried flying it with the soldiers and a rocket pod.  In the words of some guy on the Hill "DONT".

A recent OH-6A 1st Person view video.
Start at 8:40 for actual flying. I noted his feet and the pedal inputs. The transition from more left pedal during takeoff and moving to forward flight, to right pedal.
Than reversing back as he slowed down and landed. Good reference.

I just installed the latest DCS 2.9.9.2280 MT. 200GB of longXXX download time,, then freshly reinstalled 1.51 OH-6, then 1.51 patch. I still cant arm OH-6. Even though I optn for wirecutters, and flare dispenser. There is no flare dispenser On/OFF in cockpit anymore or dispense button. This build of OH-6A is messed!

I did everything right. THe mod is messed up.

No it isn't messed up i have the same 1.51 available at the download section and it works without problems ;).

First thing:
Patch is not needed if you install 1.51 directly.

Second:
is a OH-6A_Weaponpack Folder in your \Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Mods\Tech folder?

@DmitriKozlowsky Unfortunately, you are not answering my questions. Were you able to fix your installation problems?

It is messed up. So I updated DCS to lattest 2.9.9.228 MT, then reinstalled OH6 1.51 mod then 1.51 patch. Then created new fresh mission with freshly placed OH6 unit with gun, doors removed, flare dispencer, RWR, and wire cutter.

Worked once! Just once. Flew mission. Quit DCS. Some time alter relaunched new DCS session. Flew same mission. Problem returned. OH6 cannot be armed. Can only be refueled. Created new fresh mission. Same problem. In mission, OH6 payload, except fuel, is ignored. Flare dispencer is visible, but cockpit has no dispenser Arm switch, and no dispencer button.

No gun, no sight.

So mod is mssed up.

Please describe step by step how you install it

Next thing I already told that you don't have to install the patch if you have installed 1.51.

Doesn't matter. Either way. I tried it. Same issue. v.1.51 worked properly once . But in subsequent sessions, it fails to work properly.

It matters... me and others try to help you and spending time on this  but you refuse to answer one SIMPLE question. My patience is over now.

Don't ask and don't complain about a messed up mod if you don't want to get help or if you are too stubborn to answer simple questions.

@tobi @DmitriKozlowsky may it be a conflict with another mod? I don‘t have any issues with the OH-6 1.51 either. But given how frequently some mods mess up official modules, maybe they can mess up other mods too? The Blackhawk e.g. is often cause for trouble.

No nothing known about that. But there were a lot of cases with bad Installation showing that behaviour. @DmitriKozlowsky does not want to check basic things to find the reason so I would like to move on and keep this thread clean from that.

You‘re right!

It is much more important you guys focus on the release of the 6D anyways! 😋🤩😁🥰

He’s gotta build an assault course for the cargo troops first, get some weight off them and adjust their uniforms. These things take time 😁.

I reckon they’ve been living it up in one of those Vietnamese shacks? The Chubby hut.

Decided to do a video explaining our Dynamic Vietnam Mission the boys and I are constantly working on.  The primary bird in use and what really makes this possible is the Cayuse.  Having the ability to scout and drop smoke is was kicked this coop mission off.  Really appreciate all the hard work the mod makers are putting into this.  It is beyond well received and the focal point of at least 1 to 2 flights a week.

And yes, 1.51 works great.  The guy above clearly installing it wrong.  The several jitters in this video happened after the most recent patch.  A quick fix patch released today so I hope that corrected the abnormalities I was experiencing when I shot this video.

Made a little video with the new OH-6 patch. Love the strut compression and skid friction physics! Well done guys! I know it's been mentioned before a few times but a virtual pilot body would really complete this mod/ module. Otherwise I'm running out of any constructive criticisms. Chopper feels bloody brilliant 🙂

Oh, there is a little bug - when landing on the school bus, if you land a little too far forward on the pad, or a little too far backward, the skids fall/go through the pad at the edge. Just a minor thing (not seen in the video).

I reinstaled fresh DCS, then updated to latest MT 2.9.9. then reinsitalled all mods and liveries. FOr now everything works. For how long I dont know.

Some mods just do not work anymore for me, since MT went golden

F-15C Golden Eagle is toast.

UH-60L has messed up arming

A number of static objects and naval assets don't work right or at all.

I delete them as I discover issue.

One fatal flaw in DCS is that Mission Editor requires all mods used, to be present , when mission is loaded to fly or edit. If a mod is missing that mission is gone. Cannot  be loaded ot fixed, unless all the old mods are located and remporarily placed in Mod folder. Not always possible. I can understand that mission cannot be flown. But it should be loadable into editor for fixing.

This seems to be a problem of your system. Please keep this OH-6A related.

You guys got to be kidding me! When I made my wish to get a MH/AH6 some day, I did not think it would be anywhere near. And meantime you have been already working on that. You are making my DCS world even more awesome place. Thank you! Thank you!....

There is no way to definetively tell if a problem is DCS wide, local system issue, or mod. Now with usefull actionable information/experience average user has. You using benefit of hindsight . Which is a narcisistic character flaw, and practice which I find objectionable  and irritating.

I have to tell ya Dimitri, there’s nothing wrong with this mod. Lots of us are using it and have no trouble with it.

I also have to tell ya that I haven’t read a post from you on this forum that hasn’t come across as rude, arrogant, immature and objectionable and all I’ve seen in reply is people show you patience and try to help you. You should have a look at yourself and learn some manners.

  • The glorious fact that Eagle Dynamics Allows any Mods is one of the reasons I love this platform!  When mods stop working I trouble shoot and see if there is a conflict with another mod or I wait to see if there is a workaround or an update to the mod.
  • Regarding "Mission Editor Requires all mods used, to be present"...
    • The mission MIZ files can be edited to remove the requirements.
    • There is a very handy utility from Loophole in the DCS User Files Downloads that I have been using for 2 years. It is a Drag and Drop Solution and still works because I just used it tonight! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3322208/

I am blown away the more I fly the OH-6A Mod and use the asset packs provided because the quality is so professional.

This is an A+ Job and @tobi and @Eight Ball have really outdone themselves!
