DCS could get a lot of mileage out of a WWII Poland map. I'd extend it just a little bit east to include Berlin, as to cover the Soviet Eastern Front. Early and late WWII versions at least. If we could find someone to make early WWII Polish and German fighters, we could have the invasion of Poland, and the same German aircraft would fit late Spanish Civil War. I don't think either had ever been done in a flight sim, or any video game for that matter. Later on, it  Zhukov's march to Berlin took place there, with many aircraft that went on to serve in Korea.

Definitely not a near term concept, but a good idea for a WWII theater. Cold War, I don't think so. At best, a piece of Poland could be part of the Germany map. The plans for WWIII mostly boiled down to fighting in Germany, although of course the fight would eventually move one way or the other, if the nukes didn't fly first.

To be fair, in regards to the A-10A it is actually an early 90's LASTE variant, so you were correct the first time. Our cold war hog pilots would need to become proficient in bombing tables and reticle depression attacks and do without a lot of the bells and whistles we enjoy in our modules.

Still haven't found the Moulin Rouge building in Paris yet on the Normandy 2.0 map, so...  Drove all over Paris looking for it.  Even tried a helicopter tour.

Western Balkans had many conflicts from ww2 to modern days. Sadly there are still tensions there.

No wonder its nickname is Barrel of Gunpowder.

Would be great addition to DCS.

As the title states, Normandy that has modern airfields. Currently there is 2 fields that can support modern aircraft. I 100% understand that it is a WWII map but it's still one of the best looking maps and would be great for modern aircraft. I already use it a lot for rotor ops but modern fixed win would be great. 

Again just a wish list.

good find. however i have no idea what this could show. the only big international airport near fulda would be frankfurt (other civilian airports in the area are much smaller) and i cannot match that image to any historical layout of frankfurt airport.

The only available "resource" has the "german airport" show on CH-47 Video, but found them has a mistery.

Make all "Germany" take 605.928 square Km.... very small compared with Afghanistan (on fact has halved DCS: Afghanistan (total) Area: 1449216 sq km)

If ED makes a terrain similar to Afghanistan, it can model from England (London) to Poland frontier and from Switzerland / Austrian frontier to the north sea / Baltic, including, part of France, Belgic, Holland, Luxemburg, Denmark and part from Czechoslovakia.

I start to thinking the other "WW2 map" on progress claimed by Wags.......

You are right! Did not notice it, despite calling Berlin my home.
I do wonder though: Would we expect Berlin to be in a Fulda gap map? Would be a rather big map, if it would also cover a bit of area south of the Fulda hotspots...
I'm biased of course, but an 80s themed map roughly covering Berlin, Kassel (?), Frankfurt, Nürnberg would be a dream.

*edit* Didn't see @Silver_Dragon's size comparison. Would still be a heavy map and probably the densest with a lot of very big cities. Nice!
