MAXsenna Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Last image i posted indeed seems to be the 1940s Marianas. Found this map of Guam Harbor from 1943 and it well looks like in the first image. In the decades after, the reef seems to have been filled up to make it usable for construction. The shape fits all well. The long thin extension on the left of the modern map follows to the end of the reef, maybe to mark the riff and avert running aground / mark the harbor entrance lane. Hmmm... There are seaplane landing lanes there, so now we need some seaplanes. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

BomberEW Posted December 26, 2024 Posted December 26, 2024 I hope ED at least recreates the Cold War airfields for this map. I can deal with modern Germany for ease of development, but in order to really capture the 1980s era, we have to have at least the airfields recreated. Airfields like Bitburg, Spangdahlem, Hahn, Ramstein, Sembach, and Zweibrucken. For example, Ramsteim back then, was a major fighter base with F-4s. Focusing on recreating those airfields to resemble how they appeared back then will make this map special. 5

Because of the German division only a historic map would make sense. We've already seen images of the inner German border, so i think we'll get a proper historic map anyway. I personally wouldn't care if it mixes elements from a few decades, but it should be pre 89, without any recognizable elements from later years. 5 My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original

The presence of Mendig more or less confirms the map area to include the Fulda AO. That's good news. The houses on Neptunbrunnen are definitely weird. The area is a public square since the early seventies i believe (or whenever they built the tv tower). How can something like this end up in a trailer? 2 My improved* wishlist after a decade with DCS *now with 17% more wishes compared to the original

Bremspropeller Posted January 18 Posted January 18 (edited) I'm hoping it covers Germany entirely, as the most beautiful airfields (landscape-wise) are in the southern west and southwest. The airfields in southern Bavaria are also quite scenic. If that area is covered, some franch airbases in the Rhine valley should also make it (e.g. Colmar and Strasbourg, maybe even Metz and Nancy). For the eastern dimension, I hope it at least covers the Oder river. That in turn also covers parts of Czechia and maybe northern Austria. The pics seen so far suggest that the map at least extends to the german coast of the Baltic Sea. Really looking forward to the map reveal.
