These are great videos and special works. They include some after-effects etc. But of course they have the problem I told in some scenes...

Ok, well, could we continue the "conversation" in another thread? Edit: or forget, I'm tired. I'm not able to describe what in my mind...

This issue had no relation with EDGE, I think I used wrong video in my main post. Sorry for unfocused thread.

Thanks for your patience.

to put it bluntly, you want more advanced camera controls :p:pilotfly:

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

3x ASUS VS248HP + Oculus HMD, Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS + MFDs

Camera/mouse smoothing is a good option to have, but it should absolutely never be default or enforced on the user. It looks nice for cinematics, but it makes game controls feel really laggy. Lots of modern games mess this up these days.

I dont know why people even thought of the old map being on the old engine, the amount of logistics problems that would cause, and the time it would take to do anything is simply insane, and i understand even less why people are still confused, when ED said it will all be in the new engine.

no offense to you eagleeye it isnt pointed at you.

It isnt pointed at me, but be so kind and tell me when ED said that the old map (Caucasus) would be on new engine? The only info I found about is that thread from Sithspawn. Pls read the line with: "Will the Black Sea map in its current form work with EDGE?" (http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=121146)

This statement and the new WIP pics from WAGS stay in conflict, if you ask me. So it seems, that they will make the Black Sea map work in EDGE, but without re-doing it, of course.

We can all wait and see what will happen, though I like the discussion about it and (a little bit speculations) thats all.:)

Wags or Chiz said it somewhere on this forum, it may be nigh impossible to find now.

The old map in its current form will work in EDGE, yes. But it would have to be rebuilt from scratch to fully benefit from all the new features EDGE brings.

@Blaze: That wasn`t my question. It was a quote from here:

Will the Black Sea map in its current form work with EDGE?

No. Since the technology behind EDGE is dramatically different, down to the tools that create it, terrain needs to be built with the EDGE benefits in mind. This is a HUGE undertaking and not an easy task to redo something. HOWEVER, it has been stated that the Black Sea map is not going anywhere.

That quote is a little hard to read, but if you look at it, it says all you need to know, Current map would have to be rebuilt to take advantage of EDGE to its fullest, but the current map isnt going anywhere, as in, it will work in EDGE and still be available when EDGE is released, it might not perform as well as newer maps, but this isnt something we really know at this point.

Yes hard to read, because it starts with a NO.;)

I just started the dicussion because it`s not easy to see what exactly EDGE is. The old Black Sea Map will use the new image generator (IG) from EDGE but it can`t benefit from all other features EDGE might bring. So its still a big question mark.

Its as simple as this, its like buying a new console system and being backwards compatible with older console games, sure they run, but they wont take many benefits of the new system. With EDGE and the old map, we may see some eye candy improve, but the real performance gains will more likely come with Nevada and future maps built with EDGE in mind.

And that quote is a copy paste from a post that was written over 2 1/2 years ago, things change.

Good analogy - I'll be stealing that.

The old map will get some benefits, things that are dont by the renderer.

· EDGE allows for Direct X 11 support

· Dynamic shadowing of the terrain and mountains

· Higher object count

· Better graphical effects

these seem about right.
