I've convinced my GF to try DCS World and gave her my old CH gear. Here are the results:

Well she did great for a rookie! On easy or sim mode?

I must say, It is getting a little disappointing waiting week after week. But its still hard to not come here atleast 4 or 5 times a day to check for an announcement..."1.2.4 and UH-1 released".

It was full sim mode:)

Did your GF manage to flight, fight and land with zero experience? :shocking:

That's what I would call "Veni, vidi, vici" :D

It was her third or forth flight and first sucessful landing (around 40 min of total flight time). Landing was almost good- I've just forgot what was the key command for drag chute, so she stopped on grass. You should hear me yelling "press left control P! Nothing! Ok, ok so right control P! Nothing..." I was so busy giving her directions that I've almost forgot to drop down my landing gear:P

i am looking into making a "door gun" using a ch products flight stick pro that i got from ebay, a cheap ebay M249 SAW, and maybe ill connect the buttkicker (collecting dust the past 4 years)

im going to make some kind of double handle grip like that of a M2 browning, and also make some kind of swivel mount that will have pots that will be then hooked up to flight stick pro usb electronic controller board... i will remove the stock of the M249, put the double handle to the back of it, and then mount it on the swivel mount.

any ideas you guys would suggest about going about making a swivel mount?

A wheel castor is pretty inexpensive.

I think I'd wait until we saw more about what the software is going to give us to work with. But, it sounds like a cool project.

Servicing my motorbike and going to de-restrict it as it is a low power French version and not the full power UK version, that should keep me busy for a few hours :D
New inlet rubbers arrived this morning and now fitted, took the bike out for a short run and what a difference, she has gone from about 106bhp to 146bhp :D Ok that's me done you can release it now :music_whistling:

I've been checking in every now and again, waiting for the 1.2.4 release, but with the nice weather comin' around I spend less time indoors on the sim and more time outside flying R/C planes and going on motorcycle rides. Normally I'd throw in an hour or two in the evening for sim time, but I've been building a 1/5th scale piper cub, so that's been the main after-hours entertainment.

I'd assume she's the T-toad. Quick learner that one. I can imagine after 5 years of marriage, she comes and say:

"Honey, how about some air to air refueling?"

And that would mean getting off a really nice sess.

The project's producer, known here as "PilotMi8", has been killing time getting some stick time in a real Huey here in the U.S. Based on his now personal experience, he is quite comfortable with the likeness of our model. We'll try to put together an after action review when there is a bit more time.

P.S. This has no effect on the release date!
