I switch between dcs and fsx a lot, one thing that keeps me coming back is the ability to fly a combat aircraft "with fangs" around areas I recognize. Sometimes I park the bug on the deck of the Nimitz, set full steam ahead toward the middle of the Pacific and not come back to my computer for a few hours. Then launch off the deck in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere knowing that I have nowhere else to land other then back on the deck of the carrier. Obviously FSX has a lot of work arounds and sometimes feels artificial while DCS is much more streamlined for combat but it would be hard to replicate something like that in DCS at present.

Both Tacpack and AICARRIERS2 allow you to spawn a carrier anywhere so why leave the computer running when you could just as easily spawn there?:D

Yes and they plan to release a video prior the ver. 1.0 release, 'soon'. Seen on their French forum, dated early Jul 13. So they are still active...

Anyone have any decent YouTube videos of this? I'm not in any real hurry to dump $99 into P3D unless it preforms wonders. I'm very hesitant to invest into anything MSFS till P3D 2.0 is in the wild with it's supposed updated scenery options.

Video I done ORBX FTX EU Scotland/England/Welsh textures in the background it has some hit i would say 5/10 frames i can sit at 30 frames with my settings mixed. I've never been big into FSX but found a good 3rd Party Dev so getting more into it.

save your money for Mi-8MTV2.... FSX will be overpowered by DCS.... We may even see civil craft in DCS.

AWAITING ED NEW DAMAGE MODEL IMPLEMENTATION FOR WW2 BIRDS

Fat T is above, thin T is below. Long T is faster, Short T is slower. Open triangle is AWACS, closed triangle is your own sensors. Double dash is friendly, Single dash is enemy. Circle is friendly. Strobe is jammer. Strobe to dash is under 35 km. HDD is 7 times range key. Radar to 160 km, IRST to 10 km. Stay low, but never slow.

FSX payware aircraft advice please

Hi, I have loaded up my CC and would like to share some of the aircrafts for FSX that I looked up so that any of you who got them can give advice on the best one for this month purchase (!)

I have A2A sims P-51 (and thinking about this Fw-109 as a complement and training aid for DCS Fw-109)

I also have RAZBAM's Harrier AV-8B (which I enjoy except the non working MPCD's)

I also have VRS Simulations Superbug

And that is my current inventory of payware for FSX.

Can you recommend choppers (not UH-1H/Ka-50 as I have those in DCS)?

Or other military properly detailed fixed wing (not A-10C/P-51 as above)?

I was thinking about this C-130 by captain sim, which is on a sale until 5 hours from now (the all in one), and is a real steal if you ask me (80 euros down to 9 euros)! But I want more than to fly the C-130. I want to be able to load it in FSX with logistics getting in animated and perform low altitude virtual cargo drops (if there is any in FSX please let me know). I won't even use the AC-130 until a simulator proper is developed for it.

I also have the C-17 Globemaster III by area51simulations in mind, but also want to see the logistics coming in through ramp and coming out at flight.

Also comes to mind is the recent Pilatus PC-21 by Iris but I'm spooked by its requirement of Acceleration (which I don't have and will never consider as a purchase)

And this PBY Catalina from Aerosoft makes me crazy!!! But I know it can't have animations like the C-130/C-17..

Finally this AH-64D Longbow by area51simulations, meh... I didn't like the left overhead part of the cockpit

In summary, so much models, so little time, so here is what I'm looking for:

1- Detailed and clickable interior (with functions and preferably audio works)

2- Detailed flight model

3- I cannot stress enough the importance of logistic/cargo animation going inside and chuting out.

4- Awesome sound effects for almost all systems inside.

If you have A2A simulations P-51D Military, and imagine seeing trucks/folded crafts/crates going in the back, you'll know what I'm after.

I'm looking for the best cargo simulator for FSX as an aircraft with the most detailed interior (that is clickable and interactive within FSX limits).

Thank you!

I could not fly a helicopter in FSX as theres no real flight model for them after being treated to real helicopters here, no sorry would stick with the planes A2A is the only FSX dev i would recommend because of Accu-Sim.

Hope you find what your looking for. :)

I also found this exquisite Cessna Citation and I really like the fact that it is a private charter and has a modelled cabin.

Actually there are great helos for FSX from Nemeth Design http://www.nemethdesigns.com/

I flew their wonderful Mi-24 for FS9. Btw soon the will release high fidelity Mi-24 for FSX.

But they have many other cool helos...

As to fixed wing, I recommend Lotus L-39

and in GA sector - Aerosoft Katana 4X

Also the Dodosim 206 for FSX is a good one: http://www.dodosim.com/fsx206.html

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.
