Why is everyone so negative today? I'm glad to hear that the FC3 AFM's are underway, and that we will have a new chopper BETA to play with soon. I'm also looking forward to participating in open BETA, if I can find the time to spare. First I thought it would be something like 6 months away to open BETA but now it does look more imminent than that.

I'm good though and mainly just kidding around, despite the fact that Wags has the uncanny ability to take my dreams into his hands and do this:

 

 

There is much work to do on DCS World itself. Starting with the known bugs and stability issues, over to implementing stuff 3rd party devs need and not ending with the implementation of EDGE and all that what revolves around it. That's what I read between the lines of Wags statement.

 

I have the suspection that ED must be very carefull atm to not overstretch their capabilities. Therefore I am not surprised ... but rather even almost glad about it.

 

I'd have to say I agree, and I think that Wags is trying to say there are other priorities without directly stating it. Getting things ready for Mi-8 and MiG-21, as well as some others I think are coming soon, has got to eat up a lot of time.

ED will can complete EDGE (release Nevada and open theatre 3rd Party develop), improve sea environment (carrier operations, a request before F-18C) and resolve MP stability problems before continue with other module develops. Meanwhile that persist, can be make problems and more problems on subsequence DCS:W versions.

Honestly, I would not expect any new on Hornet until this time next year at the earliest.

WWII started on Sept. 1, 1939, with the battle of Westerplatte (invasion of Poland).

Plenty to look forward to in absence of the F-18, like the MiG-21Bis or Mirage2000 (okay ... after the T-2 Buckeye). Don't care much for the flying coffee grinders.

Yeah, and then Dora, Hawk, hopefully L-39 and then even more stuff. I think we won't get short of flyable aircraft any time soon. :thumbup:

 

Although there is no modern fast jet (except those FC3 simplified ones) coming in the near future. F/A-18 was thought to be the first one to make it, and now it seems so far away...

 

I guess it sucks to be supersonic jets fan these days. At least we helicopter guys will have enough toys to play with...:P

I don't care! I will be flying the MiG-21 and all those other modules while waiting for Hornet. All those modules coming in the near future will keep me busy for a long time.

 

You know MiG-21bis is faster than Hornet? It's almost modern too considering the wide timespan in DCS since the Mustang. It's going to be a lot of fun indeed! :thumbup:

The flight model alone will be interesting for Su-27S ! I cant wait! I do think the community was really looking forward to the aspect of a multi-role aircraft and the systems that go along with it. DCSW is deep and daring to go deeper and this leads me to believe it's more to do with whats involved around the F/A-18 to make it ready. As long as we can continue to see the DCSW evolve into the sim we desire to see I have no problem with the change in direction.
