Sounds like it might be a setting or something, happy to take a look
-
That would be a question for them.
-
He would just need to propose it to us, and we could consider it if it meets all requirements.

Military Assets for DCS by Currenthill
flyingscotsman replied to currenthill's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
I recall watching a demonstration of a Mortar platoon, we were stood well back,(being RAF we were not trusted with things that go bang, or are sharp) while a lot of Army guys were shouting instructions and confirming understanding, then ,BBBBOOMMMM, off they all went, and bracketed this target on a slope some way off. We were impresed. So one of us asked how do they work out, how to hit the target. The SNCO replied it would be difficult in battle to be absolutly accrate, so they used SITFA. So another asked what that meant, and with a straight face the said "Somewhere in that flamin area...or words to that effect. LONG before we had GPS. -

Yuriks started following Mi-24 Rudders issue (ignore trim, move to the left)
-
I know how to control Hind and flown for a while no issues. Suddenly it started to move rudders all the way to left, by itself. Totally ignores trim and stick Z axis movement. Cyclic holds trim normally. I Double checked special \ Mi24: Pedals auto move is off. No other changes. I recently replaced WinWing and uninstalled their crappy software, could be realtered to that. So removed all the MI24 config, reinstalled module, same. Looking for any ideas, Thank you.

carss started following AI based dynamic comms
-
In this day and age since we have such advancements ChatGPT and other AI systems, do you think we can implement a dynamic in game radio comm system? This thing can communicate with you via VOIP or even preselected commands from the radio menu somewhat similar to the Overlord AI we once had but much more realistic and dynamic. You can have them be on their appropriate frequencies and based on ground, tower, TRACON or ARTCC. They can even create dynamic ATIS, AWOS functions based on the weather and conditions, have appropriate static sound effects and even regional accents based on which map it is, etc? Here's an example...

They have been running their business for almost 35 years, can you tell me which other simulation software company has run as long? No, microsoft doesn't count ... their original Flight Sim series ran from 1982 to 2009, and their current FS 2020 series was comissioned to a french software house, with no relation to the prior product, while IL-2 dates from 2001 ... so ED seems pretty sucessful to me.

this is interesting! @HPLsCat I do indeed have my front-seater's keybinds mapped for the cyclic, and not the TEDAC controllers. I will re-map and we can try again.

Units requiring an asset pack are already marked in the unit list of a mission, though probably not in the list you particularly think about. You can also sort that list by modules or other parameters.

Must be one hell of a manual if proofreading alone takes more than one and a half years.

Selling a lot of the modules that are actually released and would become a whole lot less annoying to use, I presume. I know that probably doesn't work out, but it is no secret that the enormous backlog of errors is only getting bigger and bigger, and it sure hampers DCS' progress and in turn sales. Now, I'd say that ED isn't exactly a prime example of being geniuses at running a business either, but to be honest - they might have us morons figured out just right and manage to just scrape by despite the releases to - as you said - stay afloat during the year, coming ever quicker and - some people say - being less and less impressive.

In the previous Anubis C-130J Mod we had the capability of loading, transporting air droping, LAPES or ground offloading vehicles and then drive them with Combined Arms. There was also a way to drop paratroopers with that mod. So I have great hopes with this payware module

Simple wish: Mark units that require one or the other asset pack in the ME unit lists. Give them an asterisk or a "(Asset Pack)" or whatnot. Perhaps retroactively for units from the original asset pack as well?

reported Extreme oscillations in motion after shuttle hook-up
Bojanglez replied to BrassEm's topic in Bugs and Problems
Im running ...18.12899 I do have Iraq. Interesting thought. Very possible. I will give this a try and investigate. I would really hope that with the amount of times @BIGNEWYput it back on the devs table the fix would come with the next few SC updates. Its hard to imagine finding the cause of this is hard for ED. I keep my fingers crossed. Now that I had a taste of how cool SC operations can be its hard to go back to being scared of hook ups. -

So I'm playing around with the CallArtilleryScript from MBot, even got it working. I got the OH-58D and AH-64D setup as Foward Observer platforms. And this is were I'm getting frustrated. I want to use CurrentHill's M270 from his USA pack as MLRS fire unit for the FO to call in. Yet everytime you push a call for fire to the M270 is response is not available for CFF, out of ammo. And this at the start of a mission. I already looked (in Mission Editor) if there is a posiblility to change the ammo loadout on the CH M270 : nope. Tried putting a HEMTT M977 truck (again from CurrentHills USA asset pack) and a truck M939 heavy, it the hope it would reload : again nope. Then I started looking if it wasn't possible to make a trigger, run a script, SOMETHING, to get this M270 rearming or , hope pray, start fullyy loaded. If there is a way to do it by triggers or script : I can't find it (I never did anything with triggers or scripts in Mission Editor so currently this is a crash course in using this stuff) If anyone has ANY idea how I could get the CH M270, preferably starting fully loaded, or else start reloading/resuply, and explain it to my the dumbass way, I would really appreciate it. PS : Yes, there's a M270 asset in DCS itself, but the parameters for this MLRS are waayyy of... any target you give outside of 20km it will not fire on. And it's the same for the M109 (which in real live has a range between 18 and 40 km depending and the ammonition used)

Also the exact same problem can be said about the Spitfire vs the D9 and K4. In theory a Spitfire should never win against those two in DCS. As long as they never get involved in a turn fight. Yet we known the Spitfire shoots them down plenty in DCS. Same for the Zero vs F4U and F6F.
