Hello. Just started to follow the manual and compare it to the module, so some more question will follow. For now I have this one. I think there is a misinterpretation from my or ED side about correct sequence of engine start. Manual says that ignition is switched off when 35% are reached and APU and starting system is shut-down when 50% are reached. In auto sequence LHengine starts after the 10sec rest of APU. In module we can see that this 10sec rest period starts at 35% when the RH ENG START (lit when ignition is running) goes off, but not 10sec after the 50% reached

Good idea! Stupid question perhaps, but where can i find the beacon info in ME?

This will only work for common controls which could be done automatically with a control set up wizard.

Hello, as the title states. It would be nice to have the RSBN / PRMG unit's frequencies listed in mission editor beacons info in blue like it is done with the portable TACAN unit, so you can refer to it and check against the RSBN / PRMG frequencies already on the map. Thanks Jens

Yes, it's really coarse, at least when using digital input. If the input was finer then you might, at least, get near a somewhat trimmed out level flight. But if that's the way the real trimmer works then I guess that's fine. I'm also with the "as long as it is a close to the real thing"-camp.

I support the wish. The units settings for the aircraft should not have landed into the global options. It should stay in special options for specific aircraft. I get the wish for english cockpit (although still unrealistic) but changing units to imperial, while it was only done in G version, is imho over the board.

Zooming works fine to me. Maybe check your control settings, sometimes more than one axis is assigned to zoom or button is pressed for slow zooming or (quick) zooming. I have been using cockpit zooming through all time with new MiG29 and I had no issue.

I do sometimes have talks with people about where green ends and blue starts. I have no problems with color visions, but at times my brain interpretes those colors differently than many others With reflections and different lighting conditions it only gets more complex. Our brains always try to estimate what a color would look like under 'normal' light conditions before determining what color it actually is. Its messy and can border on religion. So no wonder people struggle with stuff like modelling how light works in model planes. For those who know:

I ran for a long time with a 20cm extension, 100% Y Saturation, and a 15 curve, with a smooth cam (no notch), and a minimal springs.

Theres been a lot of talk on the HB forums about the complexity of Aim-54 guidance and its limited simulation in DCS. I dont think there was any talk of there being a big rework of the DCS missile API. And im not sure these limitations have much to do with the topics points, like the missiles acchieved speed or notably affect the tracking capability. Its two issues if I remember correctly: 1. The DCS missile API isnt complex enough to fully replicate the mixture of active/semi-active/guidance-commands over the two missiles and the many different launch modes. So its a bit dumbed down, like the Aim-54C uses coder more akin to a 120, but is generally realistic. 2. In part thanks to overly accurate RWRs in many modules, its too easy to notch the F14/Aim-54. That one is another common talking point. Engines perform very differently over different altitudes/speeds/angle of attacks etc, and apparently the F-14A engines actually can outperform the 14Bs acceleration in this very specific scenario. Probably combined with a slight drag advantage over the Bs engines. The 14B beats it handily in efficiency and being more consistently powerful/efficient over different flight regimes. Also reliability of course.

Some screenshots of Bandits different cloud effects in different lighting conditions. My group all now use his excellent weather and cloud mod, it's a total must have for all DCS virtual pilots. Personally I've been using it since it's very first release and never ever now use the default ED cloud presets. This man is a magician when it comes to "atmospherics" and he deserves much more recognition from everyone in this community and indeed should be incorporated into ED DCS by now. ah you have a issue with the A-4 break play its one of the only A-4 issues is there moment were the breaks dont answer 1/3 wich can be quite anoying, also watch out because the hook up area of the catapult is the rectangle area just behind the catapult shuttle itself, if you wheel get in front of the shuttle you are out of the hook up area, if you talk about the AI's being stuck be aware that the clem and the foch can only mannage groups of 2 planes , be sure that each groups you do are 2, if my memory is correct try to not have more than 10 planes on the deck @James454

The new Special Options, when left at their default values, work the way they always have so I haven't touched them. So my personal feedback is: it works as it always worked as nothing was changed that has any influence on my setup. The people who those Special Options are for, are those who use a normal springloaded joystick for flying F-16. RealSimulator has YouTube videos explaining all of the settings in their software.
